Ricky Wells has been mentioned for Newcastle a few times in the past. Wouldn't be a bad signing as he rides Brough really well although a bit of a gater. First and foremost we need to hope that we are still going as a speedway team. Fingers crossed.

Totally agree with you. Hats off to the English family but time to move on i think and hand the reins to someone else.

Is that because his Dad will still be involved? Even if we have to include a low average reserve next season depending on points limits and make up of our team i wouldn't entertain Phillips. He's just not improving and has been around long enough now. He's at best a second string NL rider. Nothing against the lad but just my opinion and if he was my son I'd keep him to racing in the NL. Don't think anyone else in the Championship apart from Newcastle would include him anyway.

Absolutely spot on about all the hangers on. I don't think there would be any other track in the country that has that many people hanging around the pits who have had freebies. Massive click at Newcastle. Definitely needs a good shake up.

I personally think a change within at Newcastle would be great for the club. I think things have started to become stale. Ged Rathbone seems to be a perfect match. Is quite local to the area. Has good knowledge of how to run a club and will have fresh ideas to hopefully get Newcastle back challenging for honours. Maybe just rumours about him but i think he could definitely take the club forward. If it is the end of the English`s time at the diamonds i would like to thank them for all the hard work they as a family have put in to Newcastle speedway. I know George isn't everyone's cup of tea but you can't knock his passion and commitment.

Personally i would still keep Stevie and would love to see him with Richie. Ulrich has got to be a definite along with Clegg. Ashley Morris is on an attractive average. Maybe Wethers.

TJ has been so frustrating. I personally like him but he's doing himself no favours. At the end of the day it's not for the lack of trying as he is so hard on himself when things aren't working out. The annoying thing is that there is a very good rider in there somewhere but sadly hasn't been shown enough. On his day he can beat anyone at championship level and even premiership as he has shown especially around Kings Lynn but we Newcastle fans haven't seen it much.

Doesn't matter what kind of track you have. Danny Phillips doesn't know how to pass. Can't pass or won't pass. Just my opinion.

Please no Danny Phillips.He is by no way the blame for a poor season by the team but unfortunately Danny is just not improving. Some might say his scores have improved at home but when you analyse it he usually beats one or both away reserves in heat 2 but then struggles there after. Once the away reserves have had their first ride and then changed things they usually beat him after that. A typical example was Eastbourne's Jason Edwards. Danny comfortably beat him in heat 2 on Sunday but then couldn't pass him in other heats. He just followed him around never putting him under pressure. Things probably look worse for him as a few of his team mates are under performing. Rant over!!!

I wasn't having a pop at Max. I think he's been brilliant this season. Possibly one of the finds. Pity about some of his team mates.

I agree with you, especially your last point i get the feeling the team was more Martin Phillip's selections. I don't know what kind of hold he has on Newcastle and what financial clout he has in the club. Ged Rathbone is at every home meeting. Interesting to see if he would get involved in the club in the future.
