British Grand Prix 2012
Rob B replied to willstaxi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
There was no other choice, either that date or no Cardiff next year. The Stadium is only available in June/July/August due to football & rugby union, but next year the olympics are using it in July & start of August, can't be used in June as pitch will be being prepared so is perfect for Olympics. -
Neil Middleditch
Rob B replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
From what they showed last night it seemed to be Phil Morris doing the team managing on the night rather then Middlo. He was talking to riders before they went out, patting them on the back and doing the team meeting before heat 21. -
LOL this shows how silly you really are Suggest you watch this again : http://www.itv.com/central-west/dudley-speedway14929/

No offence to Ken but he is getting quite old now, maybe bit confused. Most of the time they try and have racing finished by 10pm as goodwill to local residents but the official curfew set by the council is 10.30 and has been for 20+ years. As for why didn't they carry on till exactly 10.30, Dudley had no riders in heat 13 what was the point doing more 2 rider races and annoying local residents more. Peter Clark

Curfew is 10.30 at Belle Vue.
-
Currently sunny, just partly cloudy, no problems at all.
-
Nice day up in Manchester today, don't forget after the moaning last time, all Wednesday meetings at Belle Vue start at 8.00pm due to greyhounds not finishing till 6.30.

I didn't say better, I said 2 of the best, I did say their average are higher then those 4 which is fact. -
Dudley Heathens In Team Gb Under 19 Squad
Rob B replied to heathen79's topic in National League Speedway
Was just about to post why on earth are Kyle Howarth and Jason Garrity not in this team, they are two of the best under 19 riders, higher averages then all those 4! -
That's a ridiculous excuse, world cup date has been known long time before this one!
-
The trophy one was the last one I think so you must of missed the others before that, even though I'm a speedway die hard they were interesting.

World Cup Final Venues
Rob B replied to crumpiefan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sweden have never hosted race off/world final, someone once did tell me reason, can't remember why now. -
They showed the draw being done on the video screen in the build up.

British Grand Prix, 25/06/11
Rob B replied to alan_boon's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We were sat just below to the side of this we saw the stewards go up a few times eventually throwing out 2 guys one of them wearing a green t-shirt, when we went out afterwards Police had both of them outside, guy in green t-shirt and a guy in white s-shirt covered in quite a lot of blood. Not surprised to hear it was Dudley fans involved. -
They did that 2 years ago. Regards the build up last night, we all knew Stacy Soloman would be terrible and thank God she was only on 15 minutes but one thing that was miles better this year was all the videos they showed beforehand like the Steve Johnston bike setup, Chris Holder body protection, Chris Harris drag race, making the trophy etc.

How does this 3d work, maybe flagrag can explain? There looked to me to be mixture of the standard 2d hd cameras in the normal positions like up high on home straight on outside of bends and in the pits etc, with the larger 3d cameras on the centre green and one on home straight, so on the 3d channel are only the 3d cameras used or do they flick between the 3d and 2d footage?

Bump this up.

Belle Vue have signed Charles Wright as temporary replacement for Byron Bekker (cracked shoulder blade)

Good post, it is a minority few who are the big idiots like the guy at Belle Vue who threw a punch and tried to grab Belle Vue fan by the throat BUT at Belle Vue and from what I've been told at Buxton today the majority (not all, but most) of Dudley fans were cheering every time an opposing rider fell off.

As I mentioned in earlier post, when Belle Vue spoke to GRA about running Colts meetings this year it was only going to happen if they could pay lower rent, the usual £2000+ rent for Aces meetings would mean massive loss when running the Colts. The way GRA reduced the rent is that most of the bars and food outlets are not open to save on staff wages, there is just the one bar open outside. Obviously when we get our new stadium this won't be a problem. All meetings on Wednesday's Aces or Colts start at 8.00 because greyhounds run from 2.30-6.30. This is also massive problem preparing the track as no work allowed on track during those 4 hours greyhounds running.
-
Nothing wrong with the track, for once it was grippy with quite a bit of dirt on it rather the usual dry & slick it has been recently. When it is grippy like that takes some skill to ride, some Elite League riders have struggled in past, for some reason though like you said it was the Colts who struggled rather then the Heathens. Wish the track was like that for Aces meetings, Bomber Harris would have loved it and would be great racing.
-
Oh yes there was as I was directly stood right behind, Dudley fan wearing navy blue tracksuit top with stripes down the sleeves. All night been turning round mouthing off then after the heat 15 crash few things were said and he swung a punch wouldn't make a good boxer as missed. Yes was good win for the Heathens, R/R was terrible for Colts scoring only 2 points still don't think they would have done the 6 points with Howarth in the team but would have been close but some of the Colts riders like Mason, Widman, Bekker (first 2 rides) looked like it was their first time on track.
-
Final score 39-52 (Dudley 97 Colts 78) Well done to the Heathens, by far the best team, Colts were poor not helped by throwing so many points away with falls and other mistakes. Good to see a lot of Heathens fans there very vocal supporting their team BUT why do the majority loud cheer every time an opposing rider falls! Pretty disgraceful and not needed. Some good banter all night (they really hate Garrity!) but to top it off a Dudley fan who had been mouthing off all night then swung a punch at a Belle Vue fan after the crash in heat 15, terrible behaviour!
-
Didn't look very far, outside bar sells hot pies & pasties. The main food outlets not open for Colts meetings so they can pay lower rent, no way Colts could run if it was the usual £2000+ rent.
