Firstly those instructions were written by Peter Ballinger a few years ago and are still up to date, if you follow them you won't have any problems. Answers to some q's. No you don't have to sign your ticket, just stick it in the little yellow machine on the bus and it puts a time stamp on it, you only have to do this once. Not really any bars near the stadium but there are beer tents. I wouldn't really hang around Wenceslas Square, best place to hang around is the Old Town Square, plenty of bars in the square with outdoor seating. I don't know what time the trams stop but put it this way last year after the GP was delayed due to all the rain we got out of the stadium about midnight and still got a tram so they must run into the early hours. Only problem we had was the underground stopped running at midnight but we just got a taxi from the Malostranska station into the centre of town which only cost about £2.

Don't know how many bikes he has got them on but he was practising on a bike with orange wheels at Belle Vue after the meeting last week.

About 200 miles.

Did Anyone Notice Lindback....
Rob B replied to Eastie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As the referee didn't notice the tapes not going up and being broken he wasn't going to notice someone putting two wheels over the white line! -
Danish Grand Prix - Copenhagen
Rob B replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What a terrible gate to pick Crumpy, it should of been red definatly!!! Like Chris Louis said, he probably thought because he'd won twice of it he could do it again, but the track was different then. Well they might as well give Rickardsson the trophy now and start a new mini championship for the second half of the series. Definatly don't like the new system, it's quite boring upto heat 17 when it gets interesting to see who is going to make the top 8 and then the semi's and final. The old system kept you on the edge of your seat a lot more and the same riders would still be dominating. -
Ben Taylor won the first heat in 60.0

Travelling From The North Or The Midlands?
Rob B replied to Jay's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
LOL you've always been going the long way plus been paying the tolls then. M50 cuts that out and is quicker. I bet they didn't close the M50 for the FA cup final a couple of weeks ago. -

Worst news is that the M50 is closed southbound on Saturday! http://www.bbc.co.uk/gloucestershire/trave...fic/roads.shtml -
Flights To Poland
Rob B replied to David_Furniture's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not that simple, you have to pay a charge to change the name on the flight plus you have to pay the difference to what the price was when you booked it and the price now. -
Not sure if it has been mentioned anywhere but they announced at Belle Vue tonight there will be some Under 15's demo races at Cardiff.

We ordered our tickets on Friday and they came on Saturday!

I'm surprised, was pretty sure USA would make it through. They really could have done with Hamill instead of Werner. Can't see Russia doing much at Swindon.
-
Russia 30, USA 27, Latvia 17, France 4 after heat 13. Looks like it's going to be close between Russia and USA for a place at Swindon.

Cardiff Attendance
Rob B replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not according to BSI : 2001 = 31,000 2002 = 40,000 2003 = 36,676 2004 - 35,000 They would get more there if they didn't show it on SKY live, the Swedes and Danes are not allowed to broadcast it live, they have to have a 2 hour delay. -
Crump choosing gate 2 was do or die really, if you made the gate you could cut across gate 1 like he did in the semi but if you didn't you got boxed in like Jason did. 11 points in this format is nothing, all it takes is Rickardsson not to make the final in one GP and Crump can take the lead.

I said Pete, Andersen had an exclusion, an exclusion is counted as worst then a last place in the event of a tie.
-
The draw is randomly done from the FIM headquarters. As for the semi's someone put them in one of the Swedish GP threads. Off the top of my head think it may be 1, 4, 6, 7 2, 3, 5, 8 Hans Andersen was 8th in the qualifying as he was exlucluded in his last heat which is worst then a last place.

Not much use for this year but from October Ryanair are flying to Bydgoszcz along with Gdansk, Szczecin, Rzeszow. They already fly to Wroclaw. Will make flying to Poland a lot cheaper!
-
If it's the same as the GP last week (presume it will be) there was a bus service from the centre of Eskilstuna (near train station) to the stadium every half hour from 16:00 and back 15 minutes afterwards. Think it was 17kroner each way.

Got back late last night, not seen it on TV yet but I thought that was one of the best GP's for quite a few years. There was passing in nearly every race. The crowd may not have been as big as Stockholm or Gothenburg but everyone was packed in like sardines so the atmosphere was brilliant. Congratulations to the Smederna club, that is a very nice stadium you built up in 4 years, grandstands on both straights, raised terracing on the first and second bends and grass banking on the third and fourth bends. Nice training track round the back too. Only downside was the car parking was a bit of a nightmare getting in and out of the narrow forrest lanes with hundreds of bicycles! Have to admit that we thought Crump had no chance in the final as he hadn't looked that fast and had the worst gate. When he did win the stadium went silent as most of the crowd was supporting Rickardsson or Nicki Pedersen (home rider). Apparently in the parade afterwards someone threw a bottle at Crump, luckly it just miss him and hit the BMW he was coming round in.
