Spoke with Lewis Bridger at the services on the way home (slightly confused why he was going north on the M5). He wasn't injured but bent his bike and its the only one he has at the moment as he it waiting for new ones to arrive for the new season. -

It was a good ride by Hawkins but to be honest I don't think Harris was trying 100% as didn't need to risk anything. -

Some photos : http://community.webshots.com/album/562031...vhost=community Not too many as wasn't stood in a great place this year. Not the best of meetings, as everyone knew Harris was going to walk it, racing was probably better in the junior races. -

We are taking a minibus as usual from Manchester and have two spare seats if anyone is interested in going. Send me a PM or email to rbecking@yahoo.com for some details. -

You must be walking very fast to do it in 40 minutes plus its up hill on the way there, but downhill coming back.

No doubt the easiest to get to for flights, transport and amount of hotels available is Prague. Cheap flights from all airports no need for car just use underground and trams, loads of hotels and apartments.

Speedway Star Travel Club

Yep exactly and that was my point in how much profit travel plus are making, but like I said I suppose its good for single people to go on if they want to spend the money to be with others. -

£200? Don't think its ever cost us more then £150 to do a foreign GP, nowadays we do them for around £100! I see the advantage of the likes of Travel Plus for the single person etc wanting to go abroad but I still think they rip off to make a profit. Years ago Peter Ballinger use to organise trips to Slovenia and Norway and sorted out all the transport with coaches & hotels and charged less then half the price of Travel Plus. -
Indoor Speedway -sun 9th December 07

That was the format of the first brighton too if I remember right. In the past when there was Poles at least they were ones we had heard of, this year apart from Gomolski the rest were pretty much unknown. And like someone said if we have to have pairs lets have some meaning to them like there were in the past. -

Hmm Saturday or Sunday? Positives and negatives for both, but would probably prefer Saturday no work next day for majority of people could go back to 3.00 and 7.30 start. -

Hi Martin, regards your reply, I understand most of your points but don't agree with them all. Would love to help set up the track to see what it involved but unfortunatly not based in the South. We come down from Manchester, takes us nearly 5 hours to get down there and 4 hours to get back, thats why it gets irratating when a race is rerun 5-6 times delaying getting home by half an hour or so. -
In the next couple of months I'd say. No rush, never sells out.

Was my 10th Brighton and got to say I'm seriously getting bored of it now and obviously a lot of other people are too judging by the attendance. I have never seen empty seats on the south side before but yesterday it was only about three quarters full. You could tell how few people were there by looking around the foyer beforehand, one shop owner said he hadn't sold enough stuff to cover his petrol down there. This year the event had a rebrand but the format seriously needs looking at. I said last week the lineup was poor and it was, Poles that no one has heard of, we don't need top GP riders but a decent lineup who can ride a small track and entertain. I said last week only Dugard and Kennett were going to win it and when Dugard was injured was obvious Kennett was going to win it. Plus the Eastbourne bias by Kevin Coombes is very irritating. One of the main reasons a lot of riders won't do it now though is injuries, by the end of the two meetings yesterday there were 5 or 6 riders with injuries, thats why a lot of riders turn it down now, I've spoken to several riders and know that for a fact. That heat 15 which was rerun 6 times was ridiculous, Kennett should have been excluded the first time and eventually was excluded after wasting half an hour. -
Probably, this year I could lean over and nearly tap Tomasz Gollob on the head.
-
Just had an email from them saying that rows 1 & 2 are not available now as they are covering them up for health & safety reasons, not too happy about it but can't do much about it, don't know why they are being covered up they are about 10 foot off the ground and have the pits inbetween the track.
-
Last year we were in D2 and was above Gollob/Andersen. This year we have gone for C2 so we are above the top guys.
-
Tickets for the German GP went on sale yesterday, we have got front row back straight again, great view of track and into pits where you can virtually touch the riders below for £30.
-
Easyjet flights to Ljubljana went on sale at the weekend, initially were £63 which was a bargain, now they are £84 which is still not bad.

We will be there as usual, but poor lineup again. Might as well give the trophy now to Kennett or Dugard no one is going to touch them. What happened to the likes of Nicholls and Pedersen being in the provisional lineup? Is there any under 15 racing? -

Yep : http://www.speedwayworld.tv/en/sgp/a8536 -
Why have we got two Leszno threads together, can a mod merge them?
-
We normally always fly Stansted to Ljubljana but last year we flew Stansted to Trieste (Italy) as it was dirt cheap and just drove over the border, stayed in Ljubljana and drove to Krsko. Roads are good now in Slovenia.

Why have the race off and final never been in Sweden? -
Correct, I rang someone at home and they said Sky were showing heat 3 but at the track heat 5 was just starting.
