  1. No chance, it only takes up part of the dome, the arena floorspace is only ice hockey sized, same as MEN arena etc. So any track wouldn't be much bigger then Brighton!
  2. Can't beleive people are panicing already its over 2 months till Cardiff yet!!! And seetickets are by far the most reliable ticketing agency, I've bought lots of concert and sporting tickets and have never had a problem with them.
  3. We are going next week, but are buying tickets when we get there this time, can anyone confirm start time, is it 21.00 local time like last couple of years?
  4. James didn't have any phone call to say he hadn't been selected for the meeting, he found out by reading it on teletext. It is thought Ian Thomas and Peter Oakes did a deal that James wouldn't be used so he could ride for Workington. Think it's a big year for James this year, 10+1 for Belle Vue on Friday, 14+1 for Workington tonight, think he is going to be challenging Kennett & King for best U21 rider.
  5. Same for us, its a lot more expensive to fly out of Manchester due to the taxes and surcharges, thats why we always fly from Stanstead or Luton.
  6. There won't be one at Stockholm again as they had a new running track installed. I liked Gothenburg but the DFDS ferry doesn't go there anymore from Newcastle!
  7. Best places to fly to are Verona or Venice. We fly to Venice as the flights are cheaper and more frequent but stay in Verona (no where to stay in Lonigo, its quite a small place). To then get to Lonigo you really need a hire car, its quite in the middle of no where.
  8. Can't comment on Travel Plus, never used them, never will, don't need to, but I understand some people like everything planned for them. But that travel agent price is ridiculous, you can fly to Sweden for under £100 easily. We do a lot of GP's because each one never really costs us more then about £150 each.
  9. German GP is probably one of the easiest to fly to, you can fly to Dortmund, Dusseldorf or Cologne, all pretty much the same distance (Cologne is slightly further). Lots of cheap airlines fly to them so you should find a decent deal, we are flying to Dusseldorf with Air Berlin, £45 each. Check out http://www.skyscanner.net great site to find the cheapest flights.
  10. No you won't find anywhere in Cardiff now, Newport probably your best bet, last year we ended up staying just the other side of the bridge outside Bristol.
  11. You can only buy family tickets for the cheapest price band, thats why only upper tier is coming up. A long as your not afraid of heights then its a great view up there, you should be able to get quite a low row too at the moment, try each block to see which has the lowest row available. Seating plan here : http://www.speedwayworld.tv/cardiff2007/seatingplan.gif But like everyone is saying there isn't a bad seat anywhere, just down to prsonal preference.
  12. This is the third time you've asked this mate. Its up to you, tickets don't sell out so you can get them there if you want, but we always buy them online and print them out, saves having to queue up there.
  13. We are in D2 front row too. Looks like it should be decent view as it is raised about 10 foot or so, not like Cardiff which goes down to pitch level.
  14. Apparently Leigh Adams won the meeting, not much else known at the moment.
  15. Last few races didn't happen in his testmonial at Belle Vue, it was called off after about 10 heats off the top of my head, was a mud bath. Rained pretty much all day, badly affected the crowd, hope he got a good crowd in Mildura.
  16. Sorry to sound negative all the time but you are living in cloud cuckoo land. The only places that have got 20,000 or more the last few years are Cardiff, Copenhagen and Wroclaw. Even Bydgoszcz only got 17,000 last year, Prague doesn't even get 10,000 anymore and thats full of Poles and lots of Brits. I was at the last German GP at Berlin, the weather might not have helped as it poured down but there was only a couple of thousand there. Gelsenkirchen is going to look so empty, but we will be there.
  17. You are talking about hundreds in a 62,000 capactiy stadium, I don't think there will be even 10,000 there. But we'll see.
  18. But with the high ticket prices you won't get many Poles there, just a handfull of die hards.
  19. My only fear with all this promotion of the richest minute etc, is that the stadium will probably be less then a quarter full. Ticket prices are quite hnigh can't see your average German with not much interest in Speedway attending.
  20. OK guess will wait till they release a seating diagram.
  21. Just booked our flights, £1 each way with Air Berlin to Dusseldorf, so with taxes and fuel surcharge it's £40 each, bargain! Question for maybe someone local, they are selling standing tickets for £20, where is the standing? Thought being a modern stadium it would be all seating.
  22. Can't beleive it's took them so long to realise the need for a reserve, thankfully a rider has not been injured in the World Cup so far and had to pull out as it would of been diabolical that they couldn't bring anyone in before.
  23. To be honest I never saw the problem with the first GP system where they had the 20 heats Then split into D, C, B and A finals. Or why not use the system they are using in the Australian Championship, 20 heats then B and A finals and then points get allocated down as per position, at least then the lowest a rider could come from to winning the GP would be 4th rather then 8th.
  24. Yep good racing, track shape looks similar to Peterborough.
