Well Done Denmark !
Rob B replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Denmark were definatly the best team but they had some good luck on the night, few times when a rider fell the Danes were third or last and in the rerun won the race, don't down how Bjerre wasn't excluded when he lost control bringing Watt off. -
Weather In Vojens ?
Rob B replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We stayed about 20 mins away from Vojens and it pouring down most of the day, we thought the track would be flooded then got there and found they had covered it up, they had obviously seen the forecast. Was bone dry then and they had to water it until it poured down again halfway through the meeting. Practise on the Friday was rained off too. -
Covers At Vojens
Rob B replied to speedy den boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We got there early and the track was covered with 4 massive sheets of thick black plastic, one on each bend and one on each straight held down by wooden pallets, when they lifted it up an hour before the meeting the track was bone dry underneath and needed watering, funniest thing was watching them trying to fold up the huge plastic sheets, they were like bouncy castles. -
Got back from Denmark last night, don't know how big the attendance was but it was very big, we were packed in like sardines, didn't bother trying to get food or go to the toilet during the meeting as the queues were about 300 yards long. We got there early and got a a good parking spot on the road but as we drove away afterwards there were cars parked lining the roads upto 2-3 miles away. We went back to Haderslev where we were staying and there were cars driving about waving flags beeping their horns, it was a big thing for them over there.

Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
Rob B replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Can't blame the track, other riders were finding grip out wide and also flying up the inside of riders. -
Think the organisers will be hoping Denmark don't win tonight else it will be a very poor crowd for the race off on Thursday.

Referee Needs To Go To Specsavers
Rob B replied to sirmattyisbac's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Controversial decisions of the Polish referee, Marek Wojaczek, during Cardiff GP, has caused a lot of bad feelings among speedway supporters. The internet website www.sportowefakty.pl, has asked Mr Wojaczek to justify them. " I've acted according to the rules" - said Mr Wojaczek. That's all I can say in answer to your question. The rules are straightforward - if there is possibility to pin point the rider causing the stoppage of a race, then this rider ought to be excluded. In my opinion Leigh Adams, as well as Bjarne Pedersen extended their line and because of that they were excluded" - explains Marek Wojaczek. Mr Wojaczek's decisions made it possible for the Danish World Champion, Nicki Pedersen, to progress into the final. This in turn created speculation about possible pressure inflicted on referees from Ole Olsen, who is also responsible for preparing the Grand Prix tracks. Mr Wojaczek denied any of these, saying: " I can only speak for myself. There was no pressure whatsoever during the event. I doubt if there was any pressure put upon referees during any other events. I doubt it whether any referee would allow himself to be influenced by outside pressure. The Polish referee is convinced that he made the right decision and claims that they were not questioned by the FIM authorities. "After the GP event there is always a meeting of the GP jury in the presence of Mr Roy Otto, the chairman of FIM Track Comission. Nobody raised this matter and nobody questioned my decisions. Did Nick Pedersen benefit from Marek Wojaczek's decisions. Yes, he did. If that is the case then another question raises its head - were Leigh Adams and Bjarne Pedersen wronged by Mr Wojaczek? "During a race, riders' names don't come into reckoning. What counts is the rider - in white, red, blue and yellow. I always make decisions on this understanding, regardless of which name is actually on a track. My decisions were consistent because both situations were almost identical. I believe that there was no error of judgement on my part". - said Mr Wojaczek. -
"british Fans A Disgrace"
Rob B replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Most of the fans were booing him because of the way he was staying down on the track for ages each times whilst his bike was getting repaired. -
Anyone know what happened to Billy Forsberg? He was excluded in his second ride and didn't ride again.

Speedway Gp Engine Checks
Rob B replied to speedy den boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It was the new cut out that was to be compulsory in FIM events then the FIM realised it was crap. -
Speedway Gp Engine Checks
Rob B replied to speedy den boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Read somewhere Andy Smith saying the new cut outs were fine if they are dry but if you get water in them they cause problems, seeing as bike gets wet regulary you would have thought they would have made them waterproof! -
Speedway Gp Engine Checks
Rob B replied to speedy den boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not always easy for referees to see and most probably not bothered but if they wanted to be picky then could fine, whenever on a bike must always have cut out on wrist, same applies to mechanics etc when warming them up. Rule 10.46.4 in the rulebook. -
Speedway Gp Engine Checks
Rob B replied to speedy den boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Completely illegal, if the ref sees it they get maximum fine. -

Rob B replied to lady s's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
No they definatly don't check your age and don't even look at the ticket, just scan the barcode, there is a few people in our group in the past who are in late 40's early 50's and got the concession ticket and not had a problem. -
