  1. Anywhere in the city centre will do to be honest. You can get a taxi from the airport and there are tram/metro stops all over the place. I think tram number 22 was the one that goes to the track. Thanks. Do you mean Prague 1? Have a look at this map Jo. The green, red and yellow lines are the three metro lines. Where the green and red lines cross at muzeum you can walk up the road to the right of the museum, as you look at it. Just a few minutes walk on the left hand side is the tram stop. On the map this is S.E. of the muzeum stop, assuming the top of the page is north. The track is off the map to the West. Everything worth seeing is between that muzeum stop heading down to mustek and staromestska, by the river, and accross charles bridge up to Prague castle. The old town square is nice at night. Everyone just sits around on the floor, or whatever, with the drink of their choice. Hope this is a bit more informative. http://www.dp-praha.cz/defaultx_e.asp

  3. Wild stab in the dark I'd say David Howe and Joe Screen.
  4. The track is out of the city but easy to get to. (follow the thousands of Poles). It's about half way between the city and the airport on the tram. I think it's a bit more than 15/20 mins to the city from the airport but that's no problem. Agree about Prague. Went last year and it's beautiful. Wouldn't think twice about going again. CSA do fly regularly to Prague, direct from Birmingham, but their website isn't up to date. Suggest you phone them and ask for the dates/times you want to fly.
  5. Whooooa!!!!! Have booked my holiday to Stockholm and just booked tickets for the G.P.
  6. You should go anyway. You've still got Lee and AJ and Prague is really nice.
  7. See my post on page one of this thread. That should get you started.
  8. I dont know. I just feel the pressure on Rickardson to win another title back to back, and also equel Maugers's six is going to be too much. Perhaps. But if anyone can stay focussed and pull it off then Rickardsson can. I'll be betting on an outsider anyway cause the odds are crap on the top 3/4 riders.
  9. F1 - racing crap but I love it for the technology, even if we're loosing two way telemetery. Superbikes - racing has been closer than MotoGP but it may well be a pivotal time for both. Rickardsson - You seem very sure of that. Who's your money on?
  10. I aggree with you, we're not going to agree. :-( F1 and MotoGP are great but Superbikes are probably better still.
  11. No sorry with all due respect I think your wrong about that. Its based on a 'world series'. The participants nationalities create the International' tag. To be truly a worlds championship based on Grand Prix (rather than a one off event) its accepted it should encompass events in both the North and the South hemispheres. The victor can then pronounce I am the 'Worlds Champion'. Like I said, who ever wins in 2003 series can really only say I am the, 'European Champion' even if the nationalites of the riders were all the same. Road Racing and F1 run on the same principles. While I respect your opinion I still don't agree. :-( Riders from both nothern and southern hemispheres compete in the G.P.'s. How could Crump, for example, be called the European Champion :?: :? It's the fact that you're competeing against the rest of the world that makes you a world champion in any sport. Think of the athletics world championships. They are held in one country, for arguments sake Germany, that doesn't make the competitors German Champion. As they are competing against competitors from across the globe they are, quite rightly, know as World Champions. If the 100m sprint record was broken would that make it a new German record because it hadn't been done in the southern hemisphere aswell :?:
  12. Theory ok but not really as there are two many other events that go on inside the Millennium stadium to take the pitch up for a one off meeting in the middle of the football season they would just be laughed at, that is why the grand prix is at the end of the season after the FA cup has been played there in May (ish) in fact last year they only had a little while to prepare the track to due another sporting event there close to the grand prix. I think anyway See what your saying but November would be well before the Stadium was used for football finals. The chances of a clash with an international is slim. Don't know about rugby because I don't watch it. I just think it would be worth investigating. I think world championship refers to the participants rather than the location. However it would be fantastic if Aus/Kiwi rounds were revived, and what about the Yanks. Be great if we could we could find a way to incorporate the U.S.
  13. It's a real shame to lose the Aussie/Kiwi G.P's . If the marketing was as bad as suggested then I think 30,000 turn out if pretty good. Perhaps you should advertise it as another one on the list of sports you beat the Brit's at :?: :-( The problem, as with Cardiff, is that a crowd that size in a large stadium can look a little lost. If the G.P.'s are going to expand and thrive how bout this. Norway could be run 1st week of November and Cardiff the week after so as to avoid clashing with domestic matches here in the U.K. No problems with the weather as they're both indoor. Aussie and Kiwi could be run end of Jan early Feb again avoiding any dates clashing over here. Perhaps even two rounds in Aus would help to justify the costs in shipping everyone/everything out there. I would also suggest the remaining European rounds be 'tinkered' with to avoid a long break between Aus/Kiwi rounds and, as scheduled this year, Poland in May. What do you think :?:
  14. or even http://www.csa.cz/en/ and http://www.bmibaby.com
  15. Hi Jo I paid £150 return last year but that was from Birmingham and flying to and from on a Friday. The cheapest seems to be BMI from east midlands which I guess would suit you. Be aware that prices vary significantly from day to day. Check different days to fly out and return. I saw prices ranging from about £30 to about £145 on BMI website. Only difference was one flew out Thurs and one Fri!!! (I think those were the right days) Haven't looked recently, cause the schedule wasn't out for Sept., but try Czech Airlines. I flew with them last year and can't fault them. http://csa.cz/en/
  16. Thanks sjw ;-) . Did you mean the train tickets were under £20 or the flights?
  17. beegee - yes you can bet online with william hill. i have used them but always go into my local in wolverhampton so i can't vouch for their online service. joanne - i forgot to put my bet on ryan on the friday here in wolverhampton. at the last minute wandering around cardiff i decided to pop into coral and put the bet on. always worth taking a chance i also had a bet on scott in aussie GP. OH for his bike to be 2 foot longer. :-(
  18. Can't believe Lukas is at 20 with Billy, Mark and Mikael at 25 Would have thought Mikael is worth a chance at that price. 8)
  19. Thanks Kevin, will do Dunno if I fancy traveling down to Stanstead anyway. :?
  20. I might be going to Stockholm. If anyone has any advice on travel, accomodation and the GP itself i'd grateful. Probably stay for several days so if anyone's been let me know what's worth seeing. Thanx in advance.
  21. Unlees my plans go t***s up at the last minute I intend going again this year. Hopefully Friday-Sunday. Just need to get time off work. Should be good. Can't wait
