  1. Well I've booking a holiday in Stockholm this weekend so that I could take in the GP while I was there. I've now got a 200 mile round trip to fit in. :x Oh and I called that number today and got a message in Swedish that was just looped, so I have no idea what it said. Have a feeling it may have been to call back in office hours. Guess who's not a happy bunny.
  2. Good to see Cradley get a few votes, and I never said a word. '83 - Dream team. With the greatest respect to everyone I think the stat's speak for themselves. Someone said what if speedway wasn't ruled by averages, how long would that team have ruled the roost?
  3. Back to the action if I may. I thought the track was dreadful. There was a blue grooves after about 4 races which tell it's own story. There was very little dirt, and as far as I could see no watering. One thing nobody else has picked up on but what the hell was going on with the tapes :?: :? No rider touched them all night but they had to be mended after virtually every race, very strange :!: Tony was pure class. Pedersen recovered from a bad start when, as he admitted himself, he may have lost the plot a couple of years ago. Dryml and Holta produced the majority if the passing, and were the riders of the night for me. I was a little disappointed with the Brits. Both are better than that, and I'd like to think they can make the semis more often than not. It should have suited Lees fast gating. He could have cleared off if he could have got out the gate. To be fair I suppose it's not Scotts fave kind of track but he needs to find a way around the slick tracks if he's to do well in the GPs. I thought Gollob and Crump would go very close to win it but neither were a genuine threat to Tony. Pepe and Krys C. were both good value so well done to them for their best showing to date. Ryan did OK after the injury. Good points in the bag. Rescued the night really because it would have been a disaster not to get anything. Wiltshire was a disappiontment going out very early. The rest did more or less what you might expect.
  4. Just to confirm my friends and I had the contents of our bags checked last year. All bottles, plastic or glass, had to be dispossed of before entering the stadium. I will be taking Capri-Sun as they are in packets rather than bottles. If you refuse permission for them to check your bag, they can refuse you entry to the stadium. Be aware and think carefully about what you're carrying. Strangely, and thankfully, we were able to take out air horns in. If I were the sort of person to throw something, (which obviously no speedway fan would), then it would travel some distance. I really hope there's no ban on air horns. It's plays such a massive part in creating the right atmos. Hopefullly whoever makes these decissions has taken notice of our good behaviour, and realises we're a friendly bunch.
  5. Well the first G.P. is almost upon us so let's have your final say before the action starts. Taking into consideration current form/injuries give me the one name who's going to win it. Not who you want to win, but who you think will win it.
  6. The odds have changed again  www.willhill.com Ignore that I was looking at the wrong one.
  7. Prices are now available for the G.P. How about these for starters, Gollob 14/1 Nicholls 14/1 N. Pedersen 25/1 Dryml 25/1 Richardson 33/1 Ulamek 80/1 If you can't see anything that takes your fancy there, a full list is available on William Hill website. There's a speedway link on the left, then use the drop down menu centre screen towards the top. www.willhill.com
  8. You could try standing on the seat Joanne. I'd like to see Scott and Lee dominate but realistically I think there may be just one place left in the final. Gollob is almost always flying in Poland, Tony always steps up a gear for the G.P.'s and Crump is going well. (when he turns up  ) It would be nice if the order was mixed up a bit like the first few races of the F1 season. It's possible Scott, Lee, Greg, Leigh, Nicki or Ryan could make it to the final and squeeze the others out.
  9. I'm tempted to say what a c*ck up. (if you know what I mean) :!:
  10. Good shout . If Deano can keep this up he is definately worth a wildcard. He got to stay fit though. That's always been a problem though hasn't it. :-(
  11. Crump can be truely awesome but he's got a habbit of spitting his dummy out, throwing his toys out his pram etc. This screws his head up and he makes an almighty cock up somewhere along the line. If he can cut that out he will push Rickardsson all the way, no doubt about it. As an outside bet I've £5 on Richardson. It's going to be a hell of a battle for the top five places. There really is very little to choose between the top guys at the moment. Can't wait.
  12. T.V. cameras undoubtedly slow the action down as the camera is following the bike/car. A fixed camera over the start/finish line would give a better idea of the speed as they flash throught the frame. It would also help with close finishes. I agree helmet/bike cameras should only be used for playbacks. I would also like to think Sky have enough experience with speedway to be able to follow the action, and not just the leader.
  13. There has to be a way of getting cameras on the bikes, or riders, that works. Look at the footage you get on F1 now. They have multiple angles on a vehicle that does 200m.p.h. and relys on streamlining for it's speed. Still they found a way, for the benefit of T.V. not the teams or drivers, to make it work. The cameras have an automatic rolling film on them, to maintain a clear vision, so surely the only problem would be the stability of the camera.
  14. Just checked and tickets are now listed as being issued. Hopefully they'll be waiting for me at home. ...and they were!!! YIPPEEE
  15. Assuming you ordered online, you should have had an E-Mail Way Ahead confirming the details of your booking, and giving you a reference number. :?:
  16. You're obviously in favour. I've just checked my order online, and it still says they are waiting for the tickets to come into stock. :-(
  17. Sorry! Couldn't resist after all that arguing last week.
  18. I'll let you know if I go. :-( I'm allergic to dogs :-(
  19. No, I'm still here (just didn't get around to replying ) Kinky Oooo threesome :!: Some people just don't raise their kids right I do live about a mile from Monmore though Sure, if I go :?: I can see I'm needed to defend my gender, and maintain a happy medium if nothing else. Or maybe not. You're hubby gets the thumbs up from me
  20. Sorry about that 21st Century Heathen. Sometimes people let you down. I'm going on my own and I can do what I want with no kids nagging at me. Can't imagine them going around museums etc. Have you thought about going alone? Worth considering I suppose. I have a very bad habbit of becoming sullen and introspective when I'm on my own too long. Maybe though.
  21. Sorry. I've been waiting for friends to sort themselves out, but it looks like it's not going to happen. :-( If you want to know anything before you go though I'll be happy to try to help. (if I can remember)
  22. Glad to hear it Jo. You'll love it. Looks like I won't be going after all though
