Sadly heat two is the one race that does not have a time on Speedway Updates. I suspect the time may not have been announced. -
FACT'S just ain't wot they used to be!

Now say that with a straight face!

Well done British Speedway, having not seen a meeting all season due to all the London tracks, Arena Essex and Rye House all no longer having racing I had finally decided to go to Kings Lynn for the NL Fours. Advance train ticket and hotel booked only for the date and track to be changed! This is not the first time this has happened to me but it is the last given that the reason for moving the meeting is riders not being available but on the new date other teams will have riders who are not available. I wonder if it depends on which team is missing riders as to how important it is considered? EDIT:- BSPA website has information on a contact if you are in my situation which is very fair. I am glad to say that I had already persuaded the hotel to refund and by a piece of very good luck a friend is spending the weekend with family in Kings Lynn that weekend and was moaning about the cost of rail tickets. My advance ticket was a lot cheaper than he had found so he has now got my ticket and we are both happy. Well done the organisers for thinking about the effects of the change they have made.

Personally I am a Stock Car and Hot Rod fan who nowadays regards Bangers as a chance to get a burger or go to the toilet! There is no excuse to not tidy up after yourself in any walk of life.

I never saw Speedway at Oxford although I did see Spedeworth, PRI and BriSCA Stock Car, Hot Rod and Banger racing there. Not a good track for the cars due to the narrow entrance and exits from the bends.
-
I always prefered Hackney, Wimbledon and New Cross to Wood Lane and Custom House. A simple matter of taste and I know lots of fans who prefer the big tracks but I have always liked the smaller ones.
-
Just shows how memory can play tricks on you! I was sure they closed at the end of the season when they won the title! Must be that my parents and I were so fed up with the racing at Wood Lane we didn't go in 1978. What i do know is that my mother and I did not enjoy their title winning season and thought my fater was lucky that he was not with us due to his work.

Maybe Wells is cheap, Buster likes cheap! -
Both those are more likely than anything ZR says!

Sadly, the last season at White City produced the most boring season I had witnessed. The lack of action caused by the big scores the Rebels inflicted on the visitors. The second half of the season I tokk to scoring on a separate sheet of paper the scores of Red and Yellow against Blue and White. At least the score was closer even if it did nothing for the big gaps between the riders for most of each race.

According to ZagarRacing's profile she is female! -
Pre match discussion on trainers and post match discussion on jackets! Speedway is dealt with on the original thread.

As repetitive as a repeating groove on a record and twice as annoying.

The short lived and VERY NARROW track at Romford was at the old football stadium. I remember enjoying my visits as a young teenager but it may be due to rose tinted spectacles syndrome!
-
After the meeting can we discuss the important issue of which jacket is best for watching speedway in. I realise that jackets are at a higher level than socks and shoes so the OP maybe confused but we won't let that worry us!
-
Get well soon Sam.

We will talk about what we want to. Stop trying to tell us what to do and while you are about it stop starting duplicate threads or can't you count above one?

If they did it would be cold water!

If Jon Cook wrote a similar piece in a football programme then he and his club would be in serious trouble with the FA on a charge of bringing the sport into disrepute. The BSPA or the SCB should take action to ensure such repugnant comments are not allowed to appear in a programme again.

If he can see the dust cloud as he approaches Poole then he is late for the start of the meeting!

The problem the clubs have is the large cost of having a meeting postponed after all the riders and staff are present. If a meeting is rained off we have all seen posts wanting to know why they didn't cancel earlier, very often those posts are from people who also object to an early cancellation! On the other hand we have all seen forecasts that show dreadful weather and the club cancel early only for the forecast to be proved totally wrong at which point the posts flow saying they were wrong to cancel so early! Seems the promotions are damned either way!
