NLRC - Scunthorpe, Sunday, NOW October 20th, 5pm
Chris116 replied to lucifer sam's topic in National League Speedway
The club must have been given permission to run this meeting and I would have thought that the permission would have come from the BSPA. So the BSPA right hand needs to talk to the BSPA left hand! -

I am not impressed by the BSPA website (what's new!). Over two hours ago Scunthorpe announced this information but the BSPA website has not put the news up on the front page or added the fixture to the fixture list on the front page. Anyone would think the website is only for the top two leagues with the National Developement League regarded as unimportant. The fact that the NDL is the future of the sport seems to have been missed by those in charge which is further proof why they are not suitable for running the sport. I hope Scunthorpe have a good crowd for this meeting and wish all the riders a safe meeting with lots of close racing. -
My memory is not the best but I think in the early days of Mildenhall there was a small training track near the small main track.

It is called "thread drift"! Happens everywhere.

Championship Pairs

I would think 22 heats and then a final to give 23 races. -
It is very unusual for a car meeting on a tarmac or concrete track to be cancelled but meetings at shale track do suffer from the weather in the same way as speedway although a heavy shower during the meeting is less likely to be a problem for the cars.

Leicester must rate as top club of the year in UK Speedway. Top of the league in both the Championship and the National Development Leagues. We'll done to the Lions and the Cubs.

Sheffield v. Newcastle 28.08.19
Chris116 replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sorry, I only saw the tweet as being about the CLRC and did not read the last bit. But after you posted that people were still saying the Newcastle match was on other dates so I was hoping to confirm the correct date. Just trying to help. I will stop making that mistake here! -

Well done Warriors, now to repeat that away from home and there could be more action at Smallbrook this season! -

I regret that I cannot get to Smallbrook today so have to keep my fingers crossed that Warriors qualify for the Play-offs and make a third visit possible for me. -

It is not getting past the tapes that is a problem for Sarjeant. It is going under them rather than over them that is his problem. -
Looking at the Plymouth website you would think that they have closed down! The latest league table is from May and the latest news item is from the start of August. The news about the two new team members is on the BSPA website but no mention on the Plymouth website. Maybe changing the name of the team to something about an Essex Banger Team from Devils which everyone in Speedway had got to know proved too much for the webmaster.

Tony was a very good driver in a number of formulae and a very nice person who I was very happy to call a friend. There are still three of the Roots family in the Superstox , Chris, Nick and Dan. They are all star grade drivers with Nick currently holding the European, National and English Championship titles as well as being top of the points at the end of July.

Trouble with The Stow at that time was that it was Bangers with everything and very rare to see the Superstox which were always my favourite formula. Far too many Bangers and Hot Rods meetings for my liking.

Can he ask for a recount? -
That would class as funny, if it were not so sad.

Updates seemed to blame Josh for the crash but has now gone down! -
Most of the stadiums that also have Stock Car racing already have the loops under the track for the transponders with each formula having strick rules where the transponder must be mounted. As an example F2 Stock Car results from Mildenhall last night are on the Speedhive siteso you can see exactly who passed who and when in each race. Each driver has their own transponder and is responsible for ensuring it is working. I am sure Speedway riders could easily do exactly the same.

Why do you think that having a second GP in Great Britain would have such a bad effect on the crowd at Cardiff? It would not be the British Final it would still be the British GP. Having a second GP would have an effect on the crowd but I don't think it would be by as much as you suggest. -
Ipswich v Peterborough 22/08/2019
Chris116 replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Absolutely correct. I have just checked the rules on the SCB website and I had got myself confused as one of the match officials said he could be replaced by a reserve OR a tactical substitute and I had replaced the OR with an AND. Thank you for correcting my wrong information.
