  1. There is clearly though very, very few true fans who simply invest in the idea of great racing regardless of the level of rider . That has always been a comfort blanket fantasy grasped to by some on this forum. If you put a GP on tomorrow at Belle Vue and then a National League Riders Championship the next night..... one of them is getting a much bigger crowd than the other (in circumstance when people could attend sport clearly) "Ahhh but Isle of Wight went NL and ahhh Eastbourne" Clearly there will be exceptions to the rule, but more often than not people have wanted to see and paid to see the better standard of individual as the better individuals do produce better racing. It is racing of a higher quality than for instance 4 guys at NL level going around "close" to each other, most don't equate that to a high standard of racing they want to pay to watch, it is years and years and years and years of evidence now that support this.
  2. He done it on purpose to highlight the point he was making.....
  3. I wouldn't say it is to do with people understanding the cost, as much as it is they don't care how much it costs to produce. Your example of Premier is a decent one, people will look at it and see what they get from Premier, the content, quality and cost they pay and wonder why they should bother with this service when looking at what they pay for that v this service. Your Ice Hockey example, again, no one cares what Ice Hockey matches cost other than people who watch Ice Hockey, it is being mentioned as a decent cost model, Ice Hockey in this country is crap, it isn't really a great model to point at and say "well that is what they do" "ahh well they should care" is a likely reply and maybe people should care, but then you can't change how people feel. The general reaction to the offer a streaming service and cost, it hasn't been great.... I doubt there will be a great uptake.
  4. What you are saying here applies to clubs as well, are you just going to shut them down and run only 4 or 5 tracks next year? The riders who choose not to race in this are absolutely entitled not to, good luck to the clubs** who choose to alienate riders when speedway is back up and running in favor of those who race in this meeting. ** it will be none, none of them would be that daft
  5. "We are delighted we took the decision to suspend British Final ticket sales." What a bizarre choice of word.
  6. Not as much as kissing someone who isn’t your cousin would fool someone from Suffolk!! “What! We aren’t related!! Eww no!!”
  7. They making the final of that 16 laps as well so the Ipswich fans can count a lap on each finger?
  8. The City of Manchester quite clearly offers more than Ipswich.
  9. I’ve been to most, most are dumps. It is a SON being spoken about, no one wants to see it at a track, or town, like Ipswich. Dont forget now
  10. It's still a dump though and the racing is still average.
  11. A wider audience doesn't really want to see something like a SON event wasted at a dump of a stadium and standard track like Ipswich.... that's not happening.
  12. I would expect Speedway to have slightly skewed viewing figures in this country v most other sports.....who illegally streams speedway.....next to no one I would assume, does speedway have a stand alone app like some American sports, nope. It would be well, well down the list of sports, you only have to attend a meeting (when that is actually possible) to see that, it is a dreg sport picked up in a day age when content is needed, but then so is Kabaddi.
  13. Can't see it, a very watered down event even by recent standards. I wouldn't be racing in it if it was my profession.
  14. Woffinden won't be far away, he is a professional GP rider who is geared toward being World Champion, plays at it in the league.
  15. Team GB are trash, doubt many teams would care much for having them visit.
  16. Yes, people who write on walls using their own faeces would "consider" that
  17. It's a dump of a stadium compared to Cardiff. Given the level of debt WRU has I would question if it actually does cost that much to hire the Principality, chuck in the hospitality options and bespoke packages that can be offered there (Cardiff) that wouldn't be as appealing as Bradford I would seriously doubt the GP will be moved there if this ever even happens.
  18. Looking at peoples internet profiles, that's normal behavior

  19. Aye I mean you junky boy...

  20. Wishful thinking. I doubt any speedway club will have the means to facilitate what will most likely be staggered arrival and departure, the means to cleanse facilities on site constantly etc and so on will likely be changed. I would assume most clubs will have to spend before they can have, even for speedway, a restricted crowd attend. A gathering in a stadium will be seen as a hell of a lot different to people gathering at a beach. When even football clubs in Scotland are talking about virtual season passes it’s time to let it go that people will be attending for a while. Speedway isn’t going to be bent over for just because few people go. Even ignoring all that it will reach a stage this year when riders will be asking what the point in racing is, a couple of open meetings? It’s a battle enough getting most to attend them during a regular season, it would cost most of them money to risk injury in a year when they have had no racing income.
  21. Touching upon things that are reality is hardly "rubbishing" something, a downturn in attendances is something that will impact more sports than Speedway. Take the WulfSport Jacket off and look at what is happening in the world just now.
  22. Clearly, but I expect "biggest crowd in years" will turn out to be a load of hyperbolic speedway fan boy dross.
