Let’s be honest now and look at it properly 1- Rye House we’re closed down due to monetary problems 2- Workington could have been closed down with the same problems last year 3- if you think putting Workingtons licence on ice for 2019 and be back up and running for 2020 get real Ask Long Eaton, Hull vikings , Bradford Dukes fans if this will come true as this was the statement put out to there fans when speedway was suspended at there tracks For speedway to survive in this country at championship level costs have to be cut and riders will have to become semi-professional riders Why can’t people see what is happening All Teams in All leagues have to agree a budget and stick to that budget if I was in business and my outgoings are more than the income , then I would close down , until people stop looking through rose tinted glasses and wake up Speedway will be defunct within s decadee

I feel for the fans of Workington losing there team ,but why in the section of Championship 2019 there is a Workington section as rpthey will not be up to tapes , We don't have a Rye House section in the elite teams 2019 so let's move on with the season 6 weeks away

Sad what’s happened , but why declare to run if money problems from last weren’t sorted. Really feel for Stevie Worrill ravaged by injury last season at Scunthorpe and agrees and signs a deal with Workington this season and won’t even get to tapes

Shambolic is the word to describe this whole episode . Feel for the riders signed who will have invested in machinery etc , hope they get fixed up if possible . As for Workington speedway what were the crowds last year and had a break even figure ever been announced for the coming season ? I feel we as supporters aren’t hearing the full story of the closure A lot has been said of the merging of the football and rugby league clubs into one stadium , Was Workington Speedway part of this merger in the future I think no and this is why the Comets won’t be coming to the tapes in April . As an owner who has run it as a loss this season as Laura has asked for investors to help and no one has come forward I believe this is a get out clause . Surprisingly Rob Godfrey hasn’t been blamed yet for the demise by the comets fans , believe me as a Hull Viking supporter once the gates are locked on you it’s so much harder to reform in the future . So one last call if you are a speedway fan support your local side to the best of your ability as you don’t know what’s around the corner

Every season people try an predict the Winners ,this season there is a lot of riders who were heat leaders in the national league who will be occupying the 3 lowest point positions in most teams .Obviously it looks like Sheffield will have a massive improver in Drew Kemp so they will be in the mix ,think people liking Somerset will be disappointed as the two reserves will hold them back in away meetings . I witnessed last seasons favourites chosen by most people Scunthorpe ravaged by injuries . So this season no predictions just hope all teams have less injuries to riders than last season and the best side comes out on top

Amazing all you Poole fans ,I'm an out of town contractor and last year I took in meetings in the top league at Rye House , Swindon ,Leicester and Poole. Peterborough,Ipswich,Sheffield,Newcastle and Scunthorpe in th championship. Mid season everyone around me at Poole were slating Richie Worrall for his efforts now your wanting him in your side take your club views out of the equation and watch speedway for what it is and you will enjoy it more ,how many changes to the side did Poole have and they got lucky with Bomber doing that overtake on the last lap . All now forgotten as Bomber had an inflated average due to the shenanigans wth his Rye House average .Watch and enjoy speedway as it is ,everyone wants a winning side but now a lt of speedway fans just want there side to come to tapes the following season ,just remember that and hope all sides have better luck with injuries next season Rant Over

Stevie was very unfortunate for us last season through injuries i don't care if he's been offered extra cash or whatever ,these lads put there lives on the line for our entertainment and I wish him well but I'm sure I would rather travel 29 miles and 35 minutes to a home meeting rather than 240 miles and 4 hours to a home meeting but hey ho at least Stevie hasn't used this as an excuse unlike Ty Proctor

Take Ryan Kingsley out the equation for now as he's learning his trade Look at Josh Baileys scores and average for Mildenhall as that is against the riders he will race against at his number in the championship this Year the young Aussie Jedd could be anything but Jake recommended him The top 3 Auty,Garrity and Allen will match most top 3 riders plus last but not least Stefan was averaging over 7 before his broken leg and comes into the team on 5.6 I think so I think we have a good balance every team in the league wanted

We will look weaker as we have 4.5 pts less to set the team up with

I'm not mechanically minded so hope this isn't a daft question to some of you . On today's modern. GM engines there is a colured tab Black, green ,red etc what does this signify if anything ? Thanks in advance

All the talk about The Scottish Tigers ,we all know they pay more money per point, signing on fees etc but they can still only build there team to the same average as other teams . Who ever they get will be the best dressed, best bikes but speedway is a team sport and until they pull together as a team on and off track they will never win anything They will never win anything until they all pull together as I can't see the brothers continuing slinging big bucks for mediocrity every year ,a top four finish is a must as every team raises the game against them ,this from a Scunny fan who witnessed the best team ever set up last year only for it to be ravaged by injury so the best side have to be lucky with injuries too .

Not a chance

Love hearing what certain riders are on per point, plus travel expenses etc from people in the know allegedly. The only people that really know are the rider and the promoter But in all honesty Glasgow riders must be on higher money due to the travelling Here is two examples of 2 random riders at different clubs this season Jason Garrity -Scunthorpe Manchester based 2hr drive to home meeting 3hrs at the meeting 2 hrs drive back to his home 7 hrs in total , Approx 180 miles to and from the meeting Lewis Kerr -Glasgow Kings Lynn based 6 hrs plus drive to home meeting 3 hrs at the meeting 6 hrs plus drive back to his home 15 plus hrs in total Aprrox 700 miles to and from the meeting So who should and will be on more money it's obvious due to the times involved ,people usually say there isn't a lot of money in speedway but I'm not having that . These men put there lives on the line for our pleasure of watching this sport and should be well paid . As these riders are all self employed ,all usually have a mechanic they get paid what the deserve ,my only worry is there isn't any creative accounting when declaring there tax returns

Too many negative comments about the side ,as I see it most sides will have about 5 points for there reserves , 3 heat leaders so to me the riders at no 2 and no 4 are crucial to how we do . Stef looks a steal on that average so young Mr list is the key to me ,let's hope he hits the ground running
-
When is the announcement of the last rider expected ? I would still love Alfie Bowtell last year Rob said he on the radar and to be fair the back end of the season he was putting in big scores for his average
-
Isn't Zaine coming in on a 5.2 average ?
-
So reading that will it be Ryan Kingsley or Jordan Jenkins ?
-
Yet another deluded comment from a deluded Sheffield fan , concentrate on your own team for 2019
-
When is the last rider to be named please
-
When people are saying bottom 4 in some comments ,it's a tough season and when all teams are setting up to 38 pts team average when if you take heat 15 results off you need 42 pts to achieve a draw then all teams will be weakened . How teams decide to go will be interesting next year but to retain 4 out of 5 of our top scorers from this season will help ,as I see improvement from Jake and Stefan next season .Hope Gino and Stevie get set up elsewhere for next year . In my eyes your team can have what ever averages for next season they want ,it will be teams with fewest injuries over the season that will be battling it out for the honours .Because this season we were ravaged by injuries all season

Been confirmed
