My Dad is an 80 yr old Scunthorpe Scorpions fan and also an avid reader , due to the horrid virus were all having to deal with he has had to self isolate . With having a lot of time on his hands I'm wanting to purchase new or secondhand books relating to his favourite sport to fill his time .Before Scunthorpe we both followed Hull Vikings until there demise so what I'm asking can people recommend books relating to the sport and without the obvious one EBAY any outlets that stock these books or anyone wanting to sell some of there own collection . The mans a fool Fromafar Scunthorpe is a well run club with a great raceway and by speedway standards fairly decent other facilities. Dont keep knocking clubs as with this pandemic I can see a few clubs going to the wall before the Season runs

I think you Diamonds fans need to take a breathe and be thankful you have a new promotion,team manager and team .A couple of months ago it looked like speedway was going to be lost on the Tyne ,so be patient as your team due to the uncertainty has had to have the pick of the riders left after all sides had virtually picked there riders . Support Rob Grant or speedway will be lost ,as I know only too well when Hull Vikings closed a lot of years ago . I know get my methanol fix at Scunthorpe Scorpions alongside my dad aged 80 ,so give it time and support and good luck to all associated with the Diamonds for the 2020 season

Agree 100 % but in real terms it's 8 weeks till the first official fixture as a Scunthorpe team, we as fans will always be eternally grateful to have seen Danny on track,in the clubhouse and just been Danny in and around the Team . It's going to be a strange season

I think what the poster is on about is with what points Poole have left to finish there side with there is a lot of British riders available and also uk based European riders available. This would keep the costs down ie flights , accommodation transport costs of machinery etc. I personally feel Poole will be mid table which will come as a shock to there fans , the bigger problem to me is the home and away manager situation which I find strange as will the riders and one last point will the paying public be happy to pay approx the same entrance price to see a lower standard of Riders at Wimborne Road

Just read your comments and with the exception of Edinburgh who I agree will do well . I think your other teams comments prove you’ve been on the wacky backi or the strong cider

don't know what average Gino Manzares would come in on ,but he would do a good job for Poole .At Scunthorpe he was beset with injury and personal problems but the last two months he was in great form scoring points everywhere

Reading all the threads on here about certain clubs having riders signed as an asset and loaning them out to other clubs .So what I would like to know is 1- is there a limit on how many loan riders can be in a sides 1-7 2 - who gets the loan fee is it the side the rider signs for in there own country And thirdly what type of money do these season loans cost I assume it's based on the riders average ,as some sides have no rider assets and others have a huge list . Obviously your on drugs I quote Redcar in tenth, ?? Scunthorpe weakest no 1?? Claus Vissing no 1 at Newcastlewill be the lowest average No 1.He only scored 6 pts at Rough park when he visited with Glasgow

Love reading all the comments,Poole still to complete yet so who knows what they will put out. Interesting how some promoters and team managers are going with a strong ,1 to 5 and two low average reserves and others have a stronger reserve who can take an extra ride No predictions from me , just hoping all riders who get injured aren't out for long as Speedway can be wicked and your replaced .Glad to see a fuller fixture list as well and finally remember With 4 riders in a race one rider always has to be at the back , enjoy your speedway,acknowledge good racing even if it's an opponent. The silverware will be won by injuries i.e. the team who has the least or by a team visiting an injury hit team Enjoy the festivitys and bring on March when the wheels start turning again

All the lies about running For 2019 Speedway wont return due to your ex promoter messing to many people around Also feel For Mason Compton great rider and let down by Laura Morgan She let 7 Riders down 8 weeks before the season started

How do Workington have a section on this, they were a championship side but they will never come back . The promoter messed up so many people this time last. year people like Steve Worrall and when the comets went others got involved ie Nike Luna who lost his team place at Newcastle due to the debacle of the Comets promoter . hope they come back in the future but it will never happen so Moderaters put this topic out of the Championship section please
