  1. Disappointed with the result and the track tonight ,our heat leaders were off tonight and the track only really had one racing line but we were beaten by the better side and all riders returned to the pits safe ,. Well done to the Lions and Dougy was superb , we go again and need an away win in the next week
  2. Ben Barker was the guest upto last night but has withdrawn so it’s now Connor Mountain
  3. There is parking on site £1 charge ,should be plenty of spaces and two turnstiles in operation one for pre bought tickets and one for cash . Allow yourself plenty of time as our promotion run to start time as usual , i know recently there was Redcar fans still coming in after the first race . Snacks and drinks available in the ground entrance is a one way system in and out from the 2nd bend ,viewing is allowed all around the track ,hope this helps
  4. Can anyone confirm Nick Morris is out for tomorrow’s clash at Scunthorpe ? If so who will be the guest ? Thanks in advance
  5. Have the riding line ups been announced yet as I’m sure Nick Morris is missing ? thanks in advance
  6. So What’s the crack with Aarnio will it be a guest ? and will our riding order change for Friday night
  7. Would love an answer on this from Dandelion , a few facts 1- Rob Grant got caught out on a few things the previous promotion had listed and Rob went with his heart on his sleeve and has come unstuck . 2- Running a junior side was a suicide decision from day one 3-How has the Speedway Promotors shafted Newcastle Diamonds and it’s promoters 4- The underlying issue here is there hasn’t been. the footfall through the gate to see the Diamonds survive these tough times 5- Has anyone asked for a lower rent from the owners 6- Can the local council help ?? All the above are not Rob Godfrey and his cronies fault as you call them , still awaiting a reply from my previous comment. Dandelion ??
  8. A couple of things ,sad that Grant and Tattum are giving there promoters licence in .But why do fans blame Rob Godfrey instantly yes he promotes at Scunthorpe but surely the number of people paying through the turnstiles is the main problem here , also I don’t think Rob Grant had done his homework on Newcastle as he inherited a lot of debt from previous owners etc.Dave Tattum has promoted elsewhere and knows speedway inside out so why between them did they put such an unattractive side which was well below the points limit is beyond me . Newcastle is a town and club steeped in Speedway tradition from when the great Ivan Mauger rode for the and the Owen brothers . So to me the problem is the Diamonds only form of income was through the gate and sponsors as they didn’t own the stadium and payed a rental to the owners and could not gain any other income unlike other clubs who get bar takings and food outlets etc , This is directly the problem that modern day speedway faces ,as well I for certain Dont know what riders earn per point so have Newcastle payed riders over the odds to these riders with points money and expenses?. One last point in there first season running a junior side was a massive mistake and won’t have brought no income in what so ever . Let’s hope someone comes in and saves the Diamonds
  9. It’s looking like one big league next year , Rob Grant has had nothing but bad luck and he can hold his head high
  10. If Aarnio is suspended next Friday , his average isn’t the greatest plus there’s other teams racing on the same night won’t help in getting a good guest ,I’d be tempted to get Aaron Summers from Berwick
  11. Sad as it speedway will keep on losing teams unless they start promoting the sport , too many people thought due to the pandemic and nearly 18 months without speedway the fans would come flooding , How wrong they were
  12. Sad day for speedway , I think we all knew what was happening as the silence was deafening
  13. So basically season over for the Eagles then , as it’s the 24/7/21 now and I’m sure to qualify for the playoffs it’s deadline for results is mid September and the playoffs are going to be run straight away . So as a speedway fan would you come and watch fixtures which sre virtually null and void to the league table . I think at best for the eagles is re group and get a strategy ready for the next season in April , I wish the directors and management team good luck in there quest to continue
  14. Can’t even get on Eastbourne’s website what time was the announcement planned for ?
  15. Hoping Eastbourne come out of this successfully as hopefully Newcastle & Birmingham have as well . But due to 3 lots of fixtures to arrange home an away in some cases. ,have the Championship fixtures got a deadline date due to the play offs . Thanks in advance
  16. Massive meeting for the Scorpions this week ,we’ve been down on numbers so guests are going to be important and there won’t be a lot of choice of guest due to other Friday meetings , hoping for 3 pts to continue the home form . Any news on the teams I would be grateful thanks
  17. Surely the all conquering Poole Pirates hit 70 pts like some predicted , all 3 of there heat leaders must have got maximums as expected . The opposition had a 6 pt guest riding at number 1 , a guest reserve and rider replacement for there 2nd heat leader . Oh how Poole fans think there going to waltz this league , we’ll take it from me once they have to use all 7 riders from Friday they will find it tougher as there guest riders for there lower end riders have been very good . Really hope the Pirates septet fail in the conclusion to the season
  18. I think there will have been a few riders who wouldn’t have taken the guest spot away to Poole ; due to the opposition and the distance to the meeting . Let’s get tonight out of the way and look forward to the Brummies on Friday we’re the guest booking will be essential
