I’m sure everyone must realise Rob Godfrey the head honcho at the BSPA. but he doesn’t make the decision by himself . As for the Tv money for the 6 clubs in the top league it’s those promoters who refused to split the pot with another club . As already stated 4 clubs ride on a Friday so guests are at a short supply .gone is the time when the worlds best riders rode in Britain they go to Poland for the big money which you can’t blame the riders as there career isn’t guaranteed to be a long one . Just hope all the negativity disappears and clubs at both levels can get more punters through the gate . Heres hoping 2022 is better for British Speedway

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022
Tosh1218 replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Due to Brexit foreign riders needed a work visa once we left the E U. Tero and a host of riders continued to race abroad and basically come back into the country as a foot passenger and no machines .This loophole was acted on by immigration and this focussed riders needed an upgraded work visa to enter the Uk and it caught a few riders out but not Ully as he was sidelined through injury and not officially working -

There was doubts about Jorgy as Redcar have offered better money allegedly Just hope we track a side what’s capable of winning home matches and a couple of away ones -

Come on Rob Godfrey and Dave Peet start giving us some firm news I fully expect Simon Lambert , Jordan Palin and Josh McDonald to be the base of the side with Jake Allen also to be in the side ,but dont know how many points these four would take up hoping for Douggy at the very top but who knows . Come on Scorpions let’s have some names in the seven spots -

Ryan 555 you only look like a baby ,so a little advice whoever pays your wages you will be happy to ride for and Rob might not pay the biggest wages but he always pays on time and that makes a massive difference in speedway -
He’s Scunthorpe bound

I’m sure Ben Barker will be one of the last two riders to be revealed ,surprised at MPT signing as that’s a long way for a home fixture

For some reason I think Jorgy will be at Redcar and if Elllis is staying with Sheffield I think we still have a chance of landing him -
Well it looks like Poole are banking on Basso having a good meeting on his first visit to Ashfield in tonight’s 1st leg in the Playoffs , he was unsuccessful on his first visit to Scunthorpe. As a neutral I’m hoping for. Glasgow win tonight to make the return leg at Poole later in the week very interesting .The key to this Final will be how The Tigers riders back Craig Cook up at home and at Wimborne Rd . Heres hoping for a great final over the two legs and all 14 riders stay injury free and the best side lifts the trophy

It was always going to be a strange decent to run 2 sides a NDL and a Championship side -
I’m sure Mike Smith rode for the Vikings around 2000

He was a star that year and I’m sure every rider rode at number1 that year

17 years today Hull Vikings completed a treble at championship level by winning Knockout Cup, Young Shield and the League in 2004 , sadly out of the 7 riders Emil Kramer died 12 yrs ago in his homeland in a car crash and Garry Stead is now in a wheelchair following a speedway accident . The other 5 riders were Paul Thorp,Ross Brady ,Emiliano Sanchez, Joel Parsons and Magnus Karlson who brought silverware to Craven Park ,. Great days and great racing back then in the 2nd tier that had 15 teams competing at that level with no riders that doubled up in the league higher back then. The really sad thing is out of the 15 teams competing in that season 9 of them are now defunct teams Hull Vikings ,Workington Comets, Stoke Potters, Isle of Wight Islanders, Rye House Rockets, Exeter Falcons, Somerset Rebels ,Reading Racers & Newport Wasps so the moral of the story is support your local side and speedway or we won’t have speedway to watch in years to come

I’m sure the next to be announced will be Ben Baker

No one knows how the “Rising Star “ situation will pan out for the second season next year and I’m sure only one of the twins are classed as a rising star -
Anyone heard any rumours of how the leagues will be set and the Team average to start the season

Brilliant words from Scotty Nichols in the interview on tv ,praising the Peterborough riders from no 1 to 7 and dedicating the win to Colin Pratt a true legend -

If I was a Redcar fan I would be livid with how Tofty is riding tonight compared to his poor scoring at Edinburgh earlier in the week -

This decision is taken in the best interest of the Rider himself and the riders in whatever heat he competes in , it’s not a measure to hurt Leicester its to protect Hans
