  1. Lindgren was always going to win heat 15, he was a class apart. So Witches just had to avoid a last place. Tough ask though with Brennan ending up with 14+3. Kinda sums up the second half of the season.
  2. Some great questions being tweeted in apparently. I bet there are!
  3. Sitting in a brewery in Prague mulling over the scorecard with a strong dark beer. Firstly a thank you to everyone who must have worked hard to get the meeting on, it is appreciated by some, regardless of the quality of the racing. Unfortunately though nearly all heats were three horse races by the second bend, gate 3 the proverbial graveyard. Which is where Vaculik had the edge over Zmarzlik, winning from 3 when Zmarzlik only got a 3rd. Ultimately that gave him the advantge with gate picks. Agree Martin comes across well, a good ambassador for the sport, so pleased to see him win.
  4. Well it has stopped raining where I am in Prague for nearly two hours and is now relatively bright. But that's only half the story, as for the track ....
  5. If it is off tonight does anyone know the start time for tomorrow please? Trying to plan ahead.
  6. A Prague weekend is always excellent, regardless of the quality of the meeting. Been a few times and always find something new to do. As well as the metro, trams 1 and 2 will take you to the North side of the stadium, 22 and 25 to the South side. Takes longer but you see where you're going rather than a tunnel.
  7. You can't question the loyalty of anyone who is prepared to do the journey up and down the A140 / A14 between Norwich and Ipswich! Not the best journey.
  8. It certainly subdued the Poles there, obviously. But it was decent enough to watch regardless of the rights and wrongs. The Danes loved it, great to see so many happy speedway fans. Just wonder if those two points Madsen gained over Lindgren will tell in the final reckoning.
  9. I'm at the track, without warning they played Phil Morrris saying he'd broken a rule. Now all we have is boom boom music, my favourite Now announced he broke a rule in practice. Dunno which rule. Do now!
  10. Well done Martin Vaculik. Good interview too. All very enjoyable watching on TV.
  11. Not raining in Manchester at 18 20, but sailing could take place on the lakes the downpour caused at 16.00. Fire brigade pumping out one property.
  12. Anyone noticed Tai Woffinden is in the final, (and Phil Morris isn't).
  13. Yes heavy rain around 15.00. Which means an extra hour and three quarters of the dire tripe this DJ plays. Appropriately I'm sounding like a stuck record moaning about it. One of the tractors is now going round backwards to add to the excitement.
  14. Just back from the post meeting beer. Thoroughly enjoyed that (well the racing, not the ‘music’ inbetween). Good to see a meeting with relatively equal gates too, no graveyard. Pleased for Martin Vaculik, who comes across well in interviews, and delighted for the lady sitting next to me.
  15. The entire season? Thanks for the warning! Bad enough in a big open air arena, but an indoor stadium would be hell to me. That’s my mind made up over Cardiff, save my money.
  16. Lovely weekend here in Prague, with some decent racing thrown in for fun. But spoiled by three hours of near constant techno junk music blaring out with a drum beat that goes right through you, interrupted only when a speedway race broke out. Hopefully not to be repeated tomorrow night, but I fear the worst.
  17. Outside gate was a graveyard, hope for better tomorrow, and a crowd to keep us warm. Lampart looked unbeatable, until he was in the most unlucky circumstances.
  18. Thanks for that, saved a trip to the tourist information to check it out. Usually is free for the GP but didn’t know about GP2.
  19. Certainly lacks the interest the two Russians added but to quote Woffy it is what it is. Crowd (not surprisingly) got excited whenever a Dane did well. Not many Poles and a handful of Brits it seemed, but then Vojens isn't the most exciting town. Kolding is a good place to stay, especially as it coincided with a small beer festival. Combine the trip with visits to Malmo, Copenhagen and Hamburg though and it's a good long weekend away, regardless of the Speedway, which I found quite enjoyable live. Agree though the uneven gates spoilt it, After 20 heats it was Red/Yellow 90, Blue/White 30.
  20. 12,451 of us here apparently, and hardly a cloud in the sky so starting to get a bit cooler.
  21. 14.15 at Gdansk Airport won't get you to Torun until 18.45 by train, so hopefully the bus is a better option. In previous years the tram to the stadium has been free after 15.00 if you have a speedway ticket so worth checking that applies this year too.
  22. What time / day do you arrive in Gdansk? I can then advise train times.
  23. The whippet tickling was cancelled too. Lovely morning in Sheffield, not a cloud in the sky. Onwards to look at the rain in Glasgow now. Hopefully a suitable rearranged date is found, regardless of the rights and wrongs of which riders are chosen, the concept behind the tournament seems sound enough.
  24. Decision made. Off. Now showing on Sheffield website. Was taking this in on the way to Glasgow so could have backed a double loser looking at the Glasgow forecast for the coming days.
