  1. There was some debate as to whether the decision to award a meeting before the statutory number of heats had been raced, (Redcar v Glasgow) last season would come back to haunt the powers that be who made that decision. And it has come to pass. Has there ever been a more inept and incompetent board of control ? They now can't win whatever they decide. They have declared result doesn't stand. They therefore penalised Redcar , and by doing so, have singled them out. That, quite frankly is discrimination. It's unfair, and unethical. The recriminations around this will drag on, and on, and on. Redcar had to accept the boards decision. Whichever way they come down on this, either Peterborough or Lakeside are going to feel cheated.
  2. Ben will always have his detractors. Fair enough. But I for one want to see him back captaining Redcar Bears next year. Be very disappointed if he wasn't.
  3. Best wishes for a happy and prosperous retirement Stuart. Whoever you rode for, you gave your best, no more could be asked of you. Redcar fans will remember you fondly. Well done !!
  4. Well done the Bears for a well earned point tonight. I'm sure the Comets won't begrudge us a point for doing our bit in what seems to have been a well fought meeting. Good luck to the Comets in the play-offs. UTB !!
  5. As far as I'm concerned being without Lindgren in an away fixture makes Newcastle stronger. Not enough to get a point tonight though. UTB !!
  6. Just heard about Dan's dreadful accident. I'm sure I speak for all Redcar Bears fans in wishing him a speedy, and complete recovery. He is a brilliant rider, and is so good to watch his all action style, the sooner we see you on the track the better.
  7. Or maybe the Comets could just concede the match to the Bears ? Oh OK then, I was only joking. UTB !!
  8. I couldn't make the MPA tonight, but I predicted a close run thing on the Bears Fans Forum. Sounds like a very entertaining meeting with a bit of everything as Yearby Red said. As a Bears fan, I'm glad they got a result. The Comets will make the playoffs no trouble I reckon. Perhaps even more. Who can tell in speedway ?
  9. A terrific performance from the Bears tonight, it's been too long waiting for an away result like this. Repeat performance tomorrow night please guys!!! UTB !!!
  10. I'm hoping for a Bears win tonight. We certainly haven't pull up a lot of trees on the road this season. With the addition of Nike we will be a stronger team. If we can win, brilliant, but I would be happy with a point. UTB !!
  11. As I understand it, the abject performance by the Bears last night has presented Edinburgh equalling their highest ever score at Armadale. At least the Bears have made the record books. Sometimes it's hard to be a speedway fan.
  12. Bears to put on a better show than the other week at home v the Monarchs....but realistically can't see them getting a point here. UTB !!
  13. Bears ran the Witches close last week at Foxhall. I'm backing on them putting the last home meeting behind them and go one better on their own track, so it's a 48-42 for me. MPA is such a fair track to ride is my only worry....tell me a speedway rider that doesn't like riding at Redcar
  14. I was hoping for a point tonight, and so it turned out. Although never leading, the Bears hung on in there which hasn't been the case for a good while. Atoned a little after last Thursday's horror show v Edinburgh.
  15. Thoroughly enjoyed the meeting tonight. The Andersens were terrific, ably supported by the rest of the Bears. I was eagerly awaiting the major announcement by Kevin during the interval. But he said it's a fluid state at the moment, so now isn't the time. Interesting to hear the referees track report from the fours meeting was critical of our track staff. We are in the middle of the warmest, and driest spell for years Three well earned points tonight . We will be formidable at home if we keep us this form.
  16. All the ingredients for a terrific meeting in this one. Bears look a lot stronger now. Before the team changes, another thumping was on the cards. Not now though, at least a point is a realistic outcome. UTB !!!
  17. Very encouraging performance from the Bears tonight, augurs well for a better season than it looked to be prior to the reshuffle. Some cracking racing too. Aaron rode very well tonight too. Good speedway meeting. Well done both teams.
  18. With the Bears now looking a much stronger outfit, and the Bandits in good nick, this meeting has all the ingredients for a very entertaining meeting. Really looking forward to this one.
  19. Always been a fan of Nathan. Said many times I would love to see him in a Bears race jacket. Got my wish, albeit only for 28 days....or maybe longer...I hope so.
  20. Agreed there is only one outcome tonight, this is not competitive racing, and the paying public are not getting what they pay to see. I reckon the riders too are somewhat wishing that despite it being a nice payday they want proper competition too, and they too are being shortchanged. if I were a home rider, I would be. The money is nice but.......
  21. Didn't think I would ever say this, but it's a " no show" from the Bears, so it's a no show by me. Not wasting my petrol and entrance money, refreshments etc on such a farce.
  22. I really hope he has got his bike problems sorted. When he is on song, up there with the best !
  23. It's a shame to read Nathan had a less than fun time at Sheffield. I never thought his attitude would be a problem. Not disputing the above, but I'm surprised it was like that.
  24. Always been a favourite rider of mine. I hope he does a great job for the Bears.
