Good job the riders weren't in Sweden or Denmark this week. Swedens two televised matches were delayed because of track work after lots of rain and Denmark was wet and patchy. Oh sorry, they would have ridden then. Money and team places for next year carry a lot of weight.

Very sad news, Phil was such a driving force behind speedway star for so many years, will be sadly missed. Condolences to all the family and friends. RIP Phil.

Indeed " If only eh? " Quite refreshing watching a good, close, well contested meeting where every point seems important. I'm glad the majority of the Polish meertings seem to have that same ethos. 15 heats of entertaining racing finished in 1 hour 50 minutes, followed by the whole team thanking/enacting with the supporters. GREAT Britain Young Lions’ management have taken the heart-breaking decision to withdraw Tom Brennan and Drew Kemp from this weekend’s World Under-21 Championship qualifier. The duo were due to race at German venue Gustrow on Saturday, and would have been amongst the favourites to reach the Final. But an e-mail from the German Federation on Monday evening stated there were no guarantees that riders and support teams travelling to the event would receive exemptions from having to self-isolate for a period of 10 days upon their arrival in the country. GB Youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “The lead up to this Qualifier has been very stressful as we have tried many different avenues of getting the riders to compete in this competition without having to self-isolate for 10 days once in Germany, as this is the current government regulation for citizens travelling from the UK to Germany. “It goes without saying that with their British commitments it absolutely was not possible for Tom and Drew to be able to do this. “Therefore, late on Monday night after consulting with the riders and their families, we unfortunately had to withdraw from this year's competition.”

It's certainly an indepth study and seems to take in all the factors involved, except rider starting ability. A fast starter will, most times, have an advantage over a poor starter, but that can't be changed. Would be interesting if the authorities adopted Proposed Plan B for a season to compare the statistics.

Lets hope that Tai continues to lend Bewley his bikes as he has for the Polish Play Off finals. bewley scored a lot of points on them, which really showed that he needs to upgrade his motors, and he was growing in confidence every ride.

I think most probably Bartek intimidates some riders, that they know he won't pull out, once he decides he is coming through on the inside.
