  1. That was a better meeting than the scoreline suggests. James Shanes and Kasper Andersen were very impressive with a bit of back-up from Todd. James took a heavy one in ht 1 Lap 1 bend 1 with all 4 back but never looked back thereafter. It was a bit drizzly which probably made the track a bit greasy with slower than normal times but they all got stuck in Another full house for a happy Ritchie - deserved rider of the night. Must mention, the boys from Bathgate Thistle CFC 2005s who were attending on the community initiative tonight were a lovely, well mannered group and welcome back any time. Also looked very smart in their club tracksuits.
  2. Not keen on a rain off but would definitely prefer to see a good meeting
  3. I wasn’t going to mention the gate & win situation at Berwick again but since you want to have a go at our riders..... What about your no1 in ht 1 / your no3 in ht 3 / your no5 in ht 7 / your no’s1&5 in ht 13 who didn’t make the gate and that as you say, was that
  4. Deserved win for Berwick - the best team on the night from 1 - 7
  5. Having just read the programme, I have to say a huge well done on that too. From one who usually just checks out the photos, I read every page
  6. I really felt for the Scunny fans who made the journey. Just when they thought they were back on track, the wheels fell off again. I hope they enjoyed The Test Match. I honestly think we would have beaten a full Scunny squad and was looking forward to a good meeting but alas it became very boring. I look forward to seeing our new team tested....... maybe next week? Maybe Erik can beat Cookie’s 2015 track record?
  7. I enjoyed that today.... well done Glasgow. Well deserved win for the boys from down under Just as I thought pre meeting, it was very difficult choosing who to cheer on with 5 X Monarchs split between the teams so I changed my allegiance from race to race Love or loathe Tai Woffinden, I have to say he makes riding a Speedway bike look so easy. He looks like he’s sitting in an old favourite armchair Big crowd, big noise.... nice touch with the free horns and flags Hope the collection for Lewis Kerr went well, get well soon lad
  8. Anything will be better than last week. Nice to see Scunny almost back to their own 7 riders and they will have their tails up after last night Can we avoid the sting and put the icing on Ed’s birthday cake..... yeah, I hope so!
  9. I’m really looking forward to this meeting. A line up like this in Scotland is fantastic. Plaudits to Glasgow and organisers Now..... who to support? Team GB obviously but so many individual favourites...... got our tickets, bring it on
  10. Good luck to both Ritchie and Max on their debut / return. I’m hoping for a comfortable home win please
  11. What a terrific meeting this was with a huge crowd. A draw would’ve been a fair result. Heat 15 was a classic flat out race We stopped off to support Josh (Pickering) and it was a bonus that Cookie made his debut. Neither one let us down and we went home very happy I think folks might see a rejuvenated Bomber with Craig in the team......
  12. that’s the Cookie I know and love. Watching Craig in full flight is a sight to behold. We took in the Scunthorpe meeting too and it was so good to see the smile back. So great to see!!! Very happy for him
  13. Good luck to Mark, I really hope this move kickstarts a return to form. Mark is a much better rider than he has been this year so far and a quiet, very nice guy
  14. The Emmerdales from Edinburgh can’t count...... it’s official...... hence we have for sale two tickets for the GP at Cardiff Excellent seats are on the middle tier on bend 3/4. Face value £80 reduced to £72 with track discount. Phone Stuart 07762796382 or email coatesstuart@gmail.com to “strike a deal” I think there may still be seats on the coach from Cardiff to Somerset and back for the Pairs - cost £14 - same contact details
  15. So, now we have a better report on our website and a complete rendition of the facts that Ritchie is a done-deal and we sadly sacrifice Mark & Max I am sorry to lose both of them but I don’t think either one could say they were riding to their full potential. The decision to change came on the back of 4 x 37/53 scores. Had we waited another week it might have been different but with Ritchie becoming available, the promotion pounced. They are running a business and are focused on winning I have already spoken about Mark so I add my best wishes to Max. A really nice guy and I hope he can get fixed up too. Such a pity the rules don’t allow his average to drop to his real average! Welcome to the Monarchs Ritchie..... Scunny last year was when my opinion changed and I hope you will be very happy at “the dark side”
  16. I guess that’s what the promotion is aiming for and let’s face it, they aren’t very often wrong
  17. Feel really sorry for Mark, good luck lad and I hope you can come back to us sometime. Thanks for your contribution to Monarchs, you are a much better rider than you have been lately. I’m sure someone will snap you up
  18. Sorry messed up and won’t let me delete
  19. Good luck to Dan & Co tonight. After being at Scunny, Redcar & Armadale..... I wasn’t allowed out
  20. Our club in pretty unique in so much as, our fans actually like to be involved and will do anything we can to keep our club afloat. We do so willingly because we want to, not because anyone begs us. The promotion keep us involved by asking for help with things like this. It might be a problem to you, but it isn’t to us
  21. Obviously, I enjoyed our trip to sunny Redcar again last night. Lovely company from the Redcar folks (even tho’ they told us not to come back with this team) The boys were amazing and made all the better when they walked all the way round the stadium to great applause from the Redcar supporters to meet us fans and have their photo taken with us...... as Ricky & Max would say..... Awesome!!! If the track photographer is reading this, where can I buy a copy of last night & the 4’s photos please
  22. I am one of these sponsors and I will still support Craig no matter what colour he is wearing or whether my name is here, there or wherever. This move is a no brainer financially for Craig and I hope he can kick on from here His true supporters will get behind, and stay behind him
  23. Well, from an Edinburgh fan..... unlike some from the East..... I wish Craig good luck at Glasgow. He needs to be able to earn a living and he’s not going to do that and compete in the GP (and support a new baby) with a few meetings for BelleVue. It was a no brainer financially. It will be tough to see him in Tiggers kevlars but heyho, life goes on
