  1. Gees, you can't half exaggerate!!!! Anyway, congratulations to the 2015 Tiggers on todays well deserved win. Some good racing, especially Aaron's tremendous effort to pass Kevin (shame about his bike) No complaints about the track, the dust or Justin having a rare off-day but get yer start gate fixed...... Now..... One thing I am going to say about Cookie and all the griping he gets on here..... Apart from something I couldn't print for fear of my Ma finding out!!!!!! There isn't one team that wouldn't like to have him ........ If you're honest!!!! BUT ..... Tough because we love him and we're more than happy to keep him
  2. It saddens me to hear Berwick fans complaining like this so early in the season. I love the set up at Berwick where spectators get close to the track but when you get riders well capable of racing and passing yet witness them busting a gut to do anything when they miss the gate, it's painful. I feel for the riders too as it reflects badly on them and does nothing for their confidence. I don't know what the answer is ..... the outside of bend 2 looked pretty ploughed up before start time last night but the inside was rock solid (I didn't look anywhere else). Maybe the riders and track staff need put their heads together? The Anderson's are good people who want Berwick speedway to flourish and I believe your team is competitive. Early injuries are really bad luck. Keep the faith folks and use it or lose it...... Cookie was 1st class and I don't think he was in the mood to let anyone rain on his parade
  3. And Craig scored paid 7 too so on a 6.21 average, he's done his job too
  4. The ambulance delay was a most unfortunate let down in an otherwise well organised event which should have run smoothly and been a night for Theo and his family to remember for all the RIGHT reasons As one of "The committee" and someone who has been on every testimonial committee since 1991, I can assure you that although the rider has to pay for the ambulance, IT IS NOT THE JOB OF THE RIDER OR COMMITTEE TO ARRANGE THE AMBULANCE I have been to numerous tracks the length and breadth of the country and endured delays for one reason or another but Edinburgh promotion pride themselves on running well organised speedway and putting on a slick show. Whatever went wrong on Friday I have no idea but it happened and the sad thing is that a few people seem to prefer to bellyache about that rather than talk about the great person who is Theo Pijper, and his otherwise great testimonial BTW, huge well done to Jim McGregor for pushing the meeting through and everyone who was so patient during the delay
  5. If you read our Chatzone, you will see that most of us so called "smugs" don't like the tac rule either but it is still there to be used and yes, we needed it tonight and thanks to Cookie and Sam who rode well to take maximum advantage. No excuses for tonight..... Somerset beat us fair and square. Roll on tomorrow..... The league is not decided on just 1 (or even 2 or 3) performances. Our results over the season are why we are in the playoff's. Win or lose tomorrow, we will remain very proud of what our team has achieved
  6. Congratulations to Somerset. Interesting for tomorrow, can't wait.......
  7. As a neutral, Simon's move on Josh was disgraceful and I understand why Josh was angry. I'm not condoning what happened but speedway is dangerous enough.....
  8. Well, it had to happen some time but what a journey and a great record ..... Many thanks to our boys for all the excitement. 7 points behind isn't too shabby either but Cookie needed a bit more help ...... Congratulations to Peterborough We'll be back..........
  9. Poor Jim McGregor..... Damned if you do and damned if you don't. He has been congratulated by some rather big names and condemned by others..... I think probs 50/50 ...... Truth is, (like it or lump it) he did his job according to the rules You can't change the rules just because it is a final or it will upset Kelvin Tantrum or Gary Havelock or anyone else The TV footage proves there was no contact....... Nick himself said Max did nothing wrong..... I have heard Nick's team manager on more than one occasion complain that Nick has to learn there are 4 laps in a race and funny Garry didn't complain to the ref about the exclusion..... Not even Nick himself Yes, I would've preferred to see 4 riders contest the final but don't blame us or the ref that there wasn't I had a great time at the pairs, great racing and well organised as usual. Just a shame our lads didn't get the full credit they deserved for winning
  10. Oh well, looks like a long haul to Somerset for us then when I'd much rather nip down the A1 to Newcastle Get the cider on ice
  11. Too late, I've just given my m8 the rest of the night off ..... on ya go fella
  12. I'll leave you to it, no point in us both posting............
  13. I've got someone txting me but they will be sparce > best I can do........ score now 14 - 10 to S/set
  14. On Ebay you will find a 3' Teddy Bear wearing a replica Wayne Carter Farewell Meeting Race Jacket up for auction with the proceeds going to Wayne's Farewell Fund. It is worth a bid for the (wearable) race jacket alone!!! Teddy is as laid back as Wayne himself and is totally house trained. Very soft and cuddly and bidding would be a great way to add to the fund if you were unable to make it along on Sunday Don't worry about postage as I'm sure he can be delivered to almost any track via a rider or two The item number is 180103579279 > Happy bidding
