Gr8scot replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Highlight of last night was seeing Cookie in action "at home" again. His interview was emotional and returning the fastest time of the season in ht 5 - superb! -

I'd like a safe, entertaining meeting for all and an Edinburgh win, or at least keep it close please -
You can all have your moan about the place you call "Armadump" (among other things) but to us it is home, it's all we've got, and we love it ...... Much better than the "alternative" ...... Nowt!!!

That's a totally unnecessary post Blobby!!! All the best to Anders, poor lad was running about in shock not knowing what to do with himself and when he tried to run it looked like he'd hurt his leg as well

Sad reading in this weeks Speedway Star about Ged Rathbone's thoughts and emotional turmoil. Promoters do their best but can't always get it right and will always be in the firing line for flack from all those who "know best" Stay positive and don't let the bullies get to you..... You signed Cookie so you must have what it takes!!!

From speedway star (page 35) probably out of date now tho' Tom Perry Dan BEWLEY (withdrawn) Ben Morley Nathan Greaves Ryan Blacklock Luke Bowen James Shanes Ashley Morris Ben Wilson Mark Baseby Mitchell Davey Robert Branford Max Clegg Matt Williamson Dan Halsey Jake Knight Reserves: Jack Parkinson-Blackburn & Ryan Kingsley Good luck Max, safe meeting for all

So why bother with all the team changes? I have no beef with Peterborough.... You have Cookie!!! BUT would it not have been better to agree to the fixture last night? I understand you had riders missing but so did we Forgive us but it is hard to understand why Peterborough made these team changes and then refuse to come to Edinburgh before the cut off. I guess they must've had their reasons but it doesn't make sense to me

Much as we will miss young Dan tonight, I am glad common sense has prevailed and he is taking his health seriously Take care lad and look after yourself
-
Lining up at number 6 is the new British U 19 Champion following the meeting at Birmingham tonight ...... WTG Max ...... Winning with a Full Maximum ..... Really proud of you lad!!!
-
There we have it then, Sheffield beaten by Rye House tonight with the help of the skipper, Sam scored 10+1(4) for Rye House. Unfortunately, Simon Stead had to withdraw with a wrist injury after his 2nd race..... Hope he is ok

Edinburgh V Glasgow Pl 9 September 2016

Really sad to hear this but he is better to make sure he is fully fit and well, a sensible speedway rider! Take care Dan -
Good luck to Berwick and their loyal band of supporters. No team is 100% safe these days and it is worrying times for folks with "speedway in their veins"
-
I can never understand the mentality of people who do things like this and I sincerely hope they get caught and made to pay for the damage One more thing Plymouth could well do without..... Good luck again folks! Well done Chris

The ref can only act on what he sees ..... Or what is reported by an official, but ...... That's where the "3 monkey syndrome" kicks in OR the "gob" that wants a rider banned As I've said before, speedway is a high adrenaline sport and red mist is almost certain to descend occasionally For the record, I do not condone mechanics involvement except to pull the hyper riders away and calm the situation down

That was shaping up to be a very interesting meeting with some cracking racing as both teams were really going for it but the downside of our sport reared its ugly head again. Firstly best wishes to Lewis, Dan (and Sam) I was told that Lewis's chain broke so that would explain his sudden stoppage. It looked nasty but full marks to Max Clegg who laid his bike down in a heartbeat or it could've been much worse Poor Sam must've wondered what the #### was happening when Dan's runaway bike clobbered him from behind. First report is that he has lost some skin from his arm and a groin injury. Dan and Lewis will be huge misses to us and NC ...... Get well soon lads
