Then you would know it's not a wooden stand, as the concrete grandstand was built in 1960 and the glass fronted grandstand was built in 1997

It's fairly obvious if you've seen the advert. There aren't many speedway riders who live in that area and have a set of helmets over the fireplace, trophies on display and a track in the back garden.

Or maybe they thought it was only going to be a short light shower which wouldn't affect things! In the past when rain has been properly forecast they tend to push the races through. Given this is how it looked at 7pm last night did any of us really expect heavy rain less than 2 hours later? Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

What long interval? I thought the interval was actually quite short last night.
