Trying to think logically about this, could it be due to Eastbourne having the more beneficial race day of Saturdays which Kent tried to get but the Council turned them down. I'm sure I read somewhere that costs for Championship are double the National League costs. Can anyone verify that ?
-
I could probably get a few posters put up. Do I get them from the stadium ?
-
Where do I apply to get a season ticket for Central Park ? Direct to the stadium or elsewhere ?
-
I was told that there is a competition with local schools to pick a name for the team. Have not seen any news about the result. Did Royals win it ?
-
I am sure that Len has publicly made it clear that his reason for running a National League side is to try to produce riders for the Kings in the future. Personally I applaud that aim and will support the junior side fully.
-
So the practice on Aoril 1st is not at Iwade ? News about this is far from clear. Assume it is at Central Park..Anyone know the start time ?
-
Sorry to seem ignorant...What is happening on April 1st ? Is Kent opening that day ? I've not seen that.
-
Where did this news come from ? I have seen nothing anywhere to suggest that Rye House is on the way back. Rob Cafferey ( ??) did post a bit of news about it on here some time ago, but nothing new lately and he seemed to know what he was talking about...unlike many others on this forum..

Cannot disagree, TurnTwo. His impetuosity sometimes takes over. But that is what make him exciting. As a strong fan of his, I am really hoping that he makes his critics eat their words. IMO he has earned his chance and I wish him well.

I agree with Blueherb777. I think there will be stronger teams out there, but as a back up to produce riders for the future senior team and at the same time achieve some success, the 7 chosen are as good as you can get. Have not seen Sam Hagon, but he has a good pedigree and Mulford is the one to watch IMO.

So, Pitstop 84 from Poole, What has to change ? And Glasgow fan Mac101 it seems is at Central Park every week.. How is it that so many fans from other tracks seem to know more about things Kent than Kent fans do ?
-
Rebel1, you must be part of the track staff to have such knowledge. Would be good to have your insider's view of things like track prep and how things run behind the scenes. Most of us are curious about such things.
-
The riders in the team are at least all "Racers" and not simply trappers. So I think there will be some very good meetings. The possible inexperience of the team manager at this level might not help, but as the season progresses, that factor will become less of an influence. Scott Nicholls to guide the rest is bound to prove a master stroke IMO. Don't expect to win the league, but the rest will know that we've been there.

But your comment in the previous posting was not funny in any way. It simply implied that the competition to name the team was a fiddle. It was not a joke, so I did not laugh.
-
Such a childish comment would come from an Eastbourne fan

I don't know if you've noticed, but we have just been through Christmas and New Year holidays.....maybe that has been a factor ???
-
One day last year, I went down onto the track after the meeting. Can't remember why I did it and I watched as one of the track guys drove a tractor backwards with spikes ripping up the track. What surprised me though was the width of the track in the corners, so I don't see how Blueherb777 can get his wish.
-
That is very helpful.

A phone call from a friend who seems to get all the latest news, told me that there is to be a competition among local schools in Kent to decide the name of the National League team. Has anyone else heard that news ? And is it true ?
-
Sounds like a great idea. Not being up on modern technology, how would I tune in to that broadcast ?

This Kent column is now becoming famous ( infamous ?!!) for talking about everything except Kent The conversation is now about Australians and Kent have never had an Australian. The first being in 2020 as Cameron Heeps joins us. I'd love to see some comments about the Kings.
-
I wholeheartedly agree
-
Never heard of him.

As a recently converted Kings fan, following the closure of Lakeside, I enjoy watching Ledwith. A bit unpredictable, hairy at times, always giving 100%. I really hope he makes his critics on this forum eat their words...and he is quite capable of doing that. He rode the second half of last season with a shoulder injury ( from Stoke 4TT). He deserves his chance IMO.

As a matter of pure common sense, if that becomes the policy at Kent, then I am right behind it.
