It would be interesting to know if it was something that would go down well with the younger audience, although I doubt it. They'd probably prefer an app on their phone which shows them who is winning in real time with graphics and stats. As an oldtimer, I certainly wouldn't want race commentary. I've seen it tried before (even when I was young) and I always found it annoying. For something like Stock Cars, where you have no idea who is winning, commentary is necessary. And other motorsports where you can't see the whole circuit. But in speedway you can see the whole track and it's obvious who is winning. Speedway is more like football. You can see the whole arena and what's happening, so you wouldn't want John Motson down your earhole while trying to watch the match.

IOW vs Mildenhall NT 25/4/19
WalterPlinge replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in National League Speedway
Wallinger was always a bizarre signing. He's not that good, and he has baggage. But, to give him the R/R ride in heat 5, when he's already programmmed for heats 4 and 6, was an amazing display of incompetent team management. Three rides on the trot is a tough ask anywhere for a man not in his first flush of youth, but 3 on the trot around the IOW is impossible. It's not surprising he didn't score all night after that. -

Can see why he kept the line-up quiet. -
Derwent Park..update on Town RL forum

You're a bit confused there. There used to be two separate entities. The Inland Revenue (who were responsible for Direct Taxation - e.g. Income Tax, N.I., Corporation Tax, CGT etc etc) and Customs & Excise (who were responsible for Indirect Taxation - e.g. VAT, Customs Duties etc etc). They were combined into one Government Department in 2005 - "HM Revenue & Customs" (HMRC). -
BT live Speedway coverage?

That's what the confusing thing is. Putting Poole on every week is like the Football schedulers giving all the limelight to Huddersfield Town. -

So what's happened to Gomolski? It was supposedly a done deal on Wednesday. Could he not get a mechanic? At this rate they'll be having a twitter vote to decide who goes in the team, never mind heat 14 -

It's no secret that it's Kacper Gomolski. Unless the delay in naming him means that Cook is coming crawling back begging? -
I think we'd all worked that one out.

With the Tac Sub rule presumably still in play, it seems highly likely that one reserve will only get 2 rides. -
£10 to watch NDL racing on one of the top three tracks in the world, in the comfort of a modern stadium... £15 to watch NDL racing on a slightly below average track, in a reasonably decent stadium... Some fans are getting a better deal than others

Golden helmet times, Ht1 Collins 73.6, Ht2 Crump 72.8, Ht3 Crump 73.0 Gresham didn't replace Gramstad in any heat. Gresham was riding at No.1 and Swindon were never behind after heat 1, so couldn't use a T/S

7 teams in M+SDL in 2019 plus squads
WalterPlinge replied to Speedway fan's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Dementia it must be. The Mercia Vikings were a ghost team run out of Sheffield by what I can only assume fits your description of a Glory Hunter playing fantasy speedway, http://www.speedwayplus.com/Vikings2012.shtml -
Agreed. Should have left the NDL rocking along without TS. They slash the points limit ridiculously low because they want to bring in the young 2.00 kids.... ...and then in the next breath they bring in TS, so one of those young kids is going to have to give up a ride to the No.1, whereas on the other side their youngsters are going to come up against the opposing No.1 who can now have a 6th ride.

WalterPlinge replied to Speedway fan's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
It can't have always been the case that teams using a historic name have to be actively looking for a new site in their area, because just a few years ago there was a team called "Mercia Vikings" and there hasn't been any "Mercia" land or any Vikings since the days of King Cnut and Knig Harthacnut over a thousand years ago! The Cnut running them must have been a 1,000 year old Glory hunter using a defunct name to play fantasy speedway who wouldn't put their Danegeld where their mouths are! -

Probably your silliest quote so far.

Woffinden has more world titles than those 4 combined. So your statement is a bit of a nonsense.

Three World Championships so far.... could be more by the time his career is over. Of course he's the most successful British rider ever.

Surprised we haven't got a thread for this. I'll have first go... 1. Kent 2. Belle Vue 3. Leicester 4. Stoke 5. Cradley 6. Isle of Wight 7. Mildenhall 8. Plymouth
