  1. From what I saw, especially towards the end of the season, Bickley was the best of that trio, with Brennan a little way behind, and Jenkins slightly disappointing.
  2. As good as the NSS track is for entertainment, why would Shanes want to go and watch Belle Vue ? Think he'd rather be riding.
  3. Depends if you call Workington, and an Aussie based in Edinburgh, "looking abroad". Bewley and Etheridge are the reserves.
  4. Cradley could easily form a strong team out of surplus riders without taking other team's riders and making a mockery of the competition Using riders not signed elsewhere (not even rumoured elsewhere) and roughly Midlands-ish, the could have Tom Perry 8.55 Dan Greenwood 6.72 Alfie Bowtell 6.65 George Hunter 5.43 Luke Ruddick 5.31 Lee Geary 3.08 Kyle Roberts 3.00
  5. Surely Cradley will have to use the riders current averages and be under the points limit every match? You can't have them 'locking in' Kemp and Edwards and using them as 3.00 reserves all season even when they are at 7.00 averages and riding at heat-leader for their 'real' teams. If you're letting them lock in riders on 3.00 all season, like a fantasy league team, then they're going to run away with the competition and take the pee out of the proper teams.
  6. Jack P Blackburn 8.66, J Armstrong 6.73, A Bowtell 6.65, D Phillips 6.25, C Dwyer 4.67, D Gilkes 3.00, newcomer 3.00 = 38.96
  7. I don't share your confidence. Well, Belle Vue have no spots left to fill, but even if they kicked out one of their reserves for Shanes, they'd be something like 2 points under the limit, which would be stupid. If they needed a 2 point-ish reserve, there's one already at their disposal in Jack Smith. (And geographically much better placed). However they aren't in need of a 2 point-ish reserve as I've already said above. If you're a Swindon fan why aren't you campaigning to fit Shanes in by kicking out a Swindon rider instead of kicking out a Belle Vue rider? Swindon would be more local for Shanes and you'd be able to see him too.
  8. That sentence makes no sense. I presume you're trying to say you've been drinking?
  9. Why are you trying to palm him off on Belle Vue? If you're so bothered about him, why not take him to Swindon, which would suit him better geographically?
  10. Seems that guess was a way off. I'm told Danny Phillips is 100% definitely in at Coventry and probably the next name to announce. So that means if Greenwood is in there's no room for Dwyer or a Ruddick type rider, but if Greenwood is out, then Dwyer and a more solid Ruddick type will fit. Jack P Blackburn 8.66, J Armstrong 6.73, D Greenwood 6.72, D Phillips 6.25, J Halder 3.49, D Gilkes 3.00, newcomer 3.00 = 37.85 or Jack P Blackburn 8.66, J Armstrong 6.73, D Phillips 6.25, L Ruddick 5.31, C Dwyer 4.67, J Halder 3.49, D Gilkes 3.00 = 38.11 Got to be option 2?
  11. Wallinger onboard. Looks like a stronger Buxton lineup than the last few years, without troubling the play-off teams. They now need a decent second string and a scoring reserve to complete it. However most of the second-strings I see capable of doing that job seem to be based quite a way south of Buxton, with Joe Lawlor the only Northern second-string option, unless Luke Priest or Ryan Burton are fit. Paul Burnett or Jamie Halder for reserve?
  12. The BBC know which contestants will be competing in Strictly Come Dancing by early summer. Why do they only reveal them one at a time in the last few weeks leading up to the programme's start in mid-September? See if you can work out this homework on your own.
  13. Tony Atkin by nearly a decade! Armstrong is 43. Atkin turns 52 at the start of the season.
  14. People who are on the internet trawling speedway sites 24/7 know who the line-up is. But there are actually less-sad people out there who have a life outside of speedway, and don't spend every hour November to February trying in seek out every morsel of information in the hope of hearing some item of minutiae before someone else. Announcing 7 riders one-by-one gives 7 separate news items in the local press, and 7 different chances to catch the eye of the casual viewer. Heaven forbid that a non-fan just happens to see an item in a newspaper in January/February about the signing of a new speedway rider for the upcoming season and thinks "hmmmm I might go along and see what that's all about"
  15. Jack P Blackburn 8.66, J Armstrong 6.73, D Greenwood 6.72, L Ruddick 5.31, C Dwyer 4.67, J Halder 3.49, L Geary 3.08 = 38.66
  16. 4.02 I believe. But it's only Etheridge's 3.89 that matters
  17. Neither of you can count. Those 6 leaves 4.12 fo the last rider, so Etheridge fits comfortably.
  18. Lemon has already got Drozdz. But you're wrong on his average. It's 5.00 4.12 left to Jye his last Kangaroo down sport..
  19. Think they're looking for someone a lot better than Shanes. If they only had space for a 2.00+ rider then Smith would be back, but they have space for 4.12. With Fricke and Tungate in the team, it remains to be seen which Kangaroo Lemon can tie down next.
  20. If anyone other than Poole wanted Woryna and Szczpaniak do you think they'd be allowed to get them on less than the 5.00 of similar (or weaker) Poles like Drozdz? Of course not.
  21. Roynon is an out-and-out No.1. Not so impressed with Cockle, it depends how much his heart is in it. Atkins can carry on improving and is one to watch, but after that the tail is very long. The massive home track advantage may see Plymouth OK at home, but they'll take some huge pastings away from home.
  22. Yep, nothing wrong with that, but you can't have a (badly spelt) whinge when Birmingham see that Facebook post and decide to leave you to look elsewhere.
  23. It's only you posting rubbish. The facebook post asking other clubs for an offer was very real, and still there at the time of my above posting, and seen by many others (presumably including the Brum promoters). Whether it's been removed since I don't know.
