  1. Any news yet on which charity the gate money from these meetings is going to?
  2. Where does the previous poster accuse Sandhu of money laundering? He says Sandhu was involved with a money launderer. That is quite true. The Jatinder Singh Batth quoted in the article was a convicted money launderer.
  3. Didn't the new businessmen beind Belle Vue say that they didn't expect to make a profit in the first 2-3 years, and that they were in it for the long run? They're investing money now to see benefits in the future? Isn't this how proper business works? Didn't they also say crowds were up 30%? So clearly sensible pricing and trying to attract the kids does work.
  4. The point he's trying to make is that anyone up to 18 can go to Belle Vue NL matches for free, and that the discounted "one off" prices for one Birmingham meeting are still considerably more expensive than any Belle Vue match of your choice all year.
  5. Here's my theory then.... Some time ago, a young boy riding bikes set up a facebook account. To have a facebook account you have to be 13 (or is it 16 in some places). So the kid used a fake date of birth to make his account appear legal. Years later, and now aged somewhere between 18 and 21 , he's eligible to ride in U-21 events and sign for a British Club. Someone at the BSPA offices (instead of checking his passport for DOB as required) just logs on to facebook and picks up the fake DOB used all those years ago.
  6. And the Redcar website has the Dates of Birth listed for all the Bears riders.... except Jordan Stewart So the BSPA think he's 24, the Aussies think he's under 21, and Redcar aren't bothered either way!
  7. ...except he's 24 (according to the BSPA website). DOB 13/11/93 Although having ridden in Aussie U-21 rounds last year seems to say the BSPA have it wrong!
  8. Tungate and Jack Holder both over 21. As I said earlier, I can't think of anyone based in Britain who could be the Aussie's 3rd rider
  9. Last we heard it was supposed to be Ryan Burton. Have Buxton forgot to name the final rider? Maybe investigating other options as people like George Hunter fit.
  10. Think what he's trying to say is that Birmingham's "one match only reduced admission" is still way dearer that Belle Vue's standard admission For 2 adults and 2 17-year-olds to watch Birmingham v Belle Vue at Birmingham would cost them £52. For the same family to watch the same match in the plush surroundings of the NSS would cost them just £20.
  11. This from the FIM press release: "But each side must remain unchanged for the entire tournament, with replacements only allowed in the event of an injury."
  12. 26..... unless you can get the Z on a triple letter score.
  13. For the Cup of Nations round at BV, I'd say GB has to be Cook, Woffinden, Lambert. Aussie have a choice of Fricke/Tungate/Holder to partner Doyle. (probably in that order). But who do they have for the 3rd back up rider? Can't think of anyone.
  14. Kids have been sitting on sledges and sliding down hills. But based on past experiences you do have to wonder whether Bates' version of sledging would be the same as the kids or a little more extreme.
  15. Stupid or Jealous... You decide...
  16. Exactly. What we need in Britain is more big tracks like the NSS to compete with the Polish scene. We've now got one which competes with the Polish tracks and is even better than quite a lot of them (Though the NSS is some 35 metres shorter than the old Hyde Road, which was considered the best track in the world). Most supporters (even the majority of Poole supporters) recognise that the NSS is world class and far and away the best track in Britain. As someone said, you've got to be stupid or jealous to say otherwise.
  17. Matt's searched down the back of the sofa. He reckons he's found enough money to pay for some budget racesuits for the Poundland Pirates after all.
  18. Considering how skint Poole are, and how they can't afford Giles Hartwell and any racesuits, I think Matt has done well with the new racejacket design for the Poundland Pirates.
  19. Dudek found out that they couldn't afford race suits. Then when Matt Ford rang him up, he reversed the charges. It totally put Dudek off joining the Poundshop Pirates.
  20. OK. The Star isn't speaking the truth. Hartwell hasn't been axed as a cost-cutting measure. OK. The Star is speaking the truth. Hartwell has been axed as a cost-cutting measure. I'm glad you got that straight.
  21. Have you tried reading what Middleditch says in the Star then? Like i said it seems far more likely that the Speedway Star, Neil Middleditch and Paul Burbridge know what they're talking about than you do. Erm...You seem very confused. You do realise that the Speedway Star (a weekly trade magazine) and the Daily Star (a daily newspaper) are not the same thing. They're two totally unconnected publications. No one mentioned the daily newspaper. We're talking about the Speedway Star! Please get someone to explain the meaning of the word irony to you!
  22. From the Speedway Star. It says Poole have got rid of Giles Hartwell and racesuits as cost-cutting measures. It quotes Neil Middleditch saying this. And to be honest I'm more inclined to believe that Neil Middleditch and the Speedway Star know what they're talking about more than you do.
  23. And he's sacked Giles Hartwell in a protest against BT Sport? (skint)
  24. Not sure that scrapping team suits in favour of a scruffy ragbag of random kevlars is going to increase crowds and save the business. Can't argue with binning a co-promoter that's costing the club money though.
  25. Things are not sounding too good down Dorset way accoring to the Speedway Star. Firstly Giles Hartwell has been binned in a cost cutting measure. This seems strange to me. As a co-promoter I'd have thought Hartwell would be investing money into the club, but it sounds like he takes money out. Speedway Star reports that Hartwell has been given the elbow in a cost-saving act. And worse still, the Pirates can't even afford team suits this year. Poole will look the poor relations in the 2018 PL with racejackets being worn over the top of any old kevlars rather than the smart team suits that the PL usually demands. However the begging bowl is out and they will wear teamsuits if someone else pays for them. Big Issue anyone?
