Never mind, don't worry your head trying to grasp the importance of correct averages for Speedway TEAMS and fair play. As they say, "There's none so blind..."
-
erm....Speedway is a team sport. That's why it's crucial that the rules are applied fairly to ensure that every team has an equal chance. Anyone with an ounce of sense can see that rules are not being applied fairly and not every team has an equal chance.

Imagine you are a substitute in the FA Cup final. After 20 minutes a player is injured and you are brought off the bench to replace him. Your team wins the cup. At the end of the match do you get an FA Cup winners medal? Are you in the winning team photos? Are you an FA Cup winner? Now apply this to Kildemand. If the 9.00 rule exists, for anyone riding in the GP series who didn't ride in Britain in 2017, how can this not apply to Kildemand? How can he be allowed to use a false 2015 average? If the 9.00 rule doesn't exist, why was Zagar given a 9.00 average to stop him signing for Belle Vue? Why can't he use a lower 2016 average if others can use an even more out of date 2015 average?
-
Presume the lack of a work permit affects all countries.
-
Just wondered if he'd be 'out' on track for Redcar, since he's had to quit Rye House for 'personal reasons'.
-
If Kildemand is allowed to sign for Poole then the sport is really bent. As you say Zagar wasn't allowed to return on a 2016 average because he rode in GPs. Anyone can clearly see then that Kildemand, in exactly the same posiion, can't be allowed to return on a (even older) 2015 average. It has to be 9.00 If Kildemand is allowed to ride, then Zagar should sue the SCB as he had an offer of a team place on 7.48 which was withdrawn when he was saddled with a 9.00 average for the exact same reasons that should apply to Kildemand. P.s. Is Holder's work permit expected to be granted in a few weeks, or is he out for the season now?
-
Guess it will depend whether he's got a work permit by then.
-
Will Redcar also be looking for a new No.1? Or will Barker be allowed out for Redcar matches?
-
Yes. So instead of just talking about the one rule, why did you start wittering on about the gardening rule as well then?
-
You do realise there are lots of rules in the rulebook, not just one don't you? Yes, the rule about gardening has changed. The rule about eligibility for heat 15 has also changed...and many others. BUT what we're talking about is the rule on unsatisfactory starts. Some people wrongly think that there has been a change and unsatisfactory starts can't happen anymore. Actually the rule hasn't changed apart from the fact that any part of a rider, bike or equipment touching the tapes is now a disqualification.
-
Apart from now being excluded if any part of the rider, bike, or equipment touches the tapes, the rule hasn't changed at all this year, and of course we can still have unsatisfactory starts. They're just tightening up on the existing starting rule. i.e. The Start Marshal must make sure the riders are correctly positioned at the tapes, (not back from the tapes with rolling room). The referee must not release the tapes unless all 4 riders are stationary. And if anything touches the tapes, the rider is excluded. (In the past the referees would sometimes release the tapes with a rider moving, and then call them back. Now they won't release the tape until all are stationary). The thinking is, that if the riders are correctly positioned, stationary when the tapes are released, and don't touch the tapes, then it is a fair start, even if someone anticipates and gets a flyer). There may still be cases where someone IS moving before the tapes go up, (referees are human without perfect reflexes) but these cases should now be few and far between.

Jack Thomas?

What's the story on Aaron Summers apparently being about to sign for Rye House? Seems he's been trying to sort out a mechanic to help him at Rye House home meetings....strange

Hope every club in the league downloads the King's Lynn anthem and plays it when the Stars come visiting. Should demoralise the KL riders.
-
Seems only Birmingham fans want Poles to be fiddled into the NDL.
-
Well as I don't have a MY team, I think I can look at it from an unbiased point of view, and from the point of view as to what is best for BRITISH speedway. You meanwhile are presumably a Brummies fan who can't look at it from an unbiased standpoint. To say that Eryk Borczuch should be as eligible to ride in NDL as Jack Smith is laughable. The NDL is there to develop British riders. How can a Polish rider, born in Poland, to Polish parents and polish grandparents, deserve a place as much as a British rider, born in Britain, to Britsh parents and British grandparents? Madness

Well worth reading the replies to King's Lynn on their twitter feed.

The new King's Lynn promoters' anthem...
-
Yes, he rode illegally in the MDL and his points were deducted.
-
Rumour has it that Birmingham were trying to fiddle the Pole Eryk Borczuch into the NL, even though he's 100% Polish, 100% Polish parentage, and has experience of riding at a higher level in Poland and abroad Whether it's true they're trying this or not I don't know, but if it is true the authorities must continue to block it. What a kick in the teeth for Kyle Roberts and any other young British kids who may be being asked to stand in as Birmingha No.7 for just a short time until a Polish ringer can be fiddled into his place.

Kim Nilsson owed a few bob
WalterPlinge replied to Alan_Jones's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
So if he's owed £5k by Lakeside, can we assume he's owed an average of nearly £11k each from 2 Swedish clubs? -
For or against team suits
WalterPlinge replied to Booey boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
1998 was the year of the lycra oversuits. They were terrible and riders hated them. I was up in Manchester at the Belle Vue press day with a rider that year. Riders hated them, and they'd barely finished the team photos before Andy Smith had taken a pair of scissors to his, cut the arms off, and was threatening to cut the legs off to leave just a bib. John Perrin was not best pleased. Within a few months most riders had had their own team suits made to the same design and dispensed with the lyrca monstrosities.
