Rathbone/godfrey Allegations
rocket007 replied to wealdstone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This is one problem with doubling-up riders. Holder should have got a 28 day ban from all British Speedway, but why should Poole be punished for an event that had nothing to do with them. Peterborough should have said no, then if Holder still went off to Poland, then he should have been sacked immediately. -
Rathbone/godfrey Allegations

Ged broke the rules and completely sold out British Speedway & Peterborough Panthers. When Torun called about using Holder, Ged should have said sorry but no because Holder is contracted to Peterborough and committed to appear in certain events. By taking the bung, Ged has also broken the contract of using the top 4 riders for a tournament as requested. If Ged refuses to pay the fine and has his promoters license suspended, the easiest way around that would be to pretend to sell to someone else while still being involved in the background. Perhaps Ged should be banned from all British Speedway Tracks until fine is paid. Moving on, Jack Holder surely has to be banned under the current rules, as Cook & Knight were banned for being ill & having no bikes respectively, while Holder was absent earning lots of money for himself against his contract. -
More guests = less fans. Can't the chairman and all other promoters see that the fans are so against all the guests. Every week people come onto this forum to complain about the amount of guests, and yet the Heirarchy can't see the problem with it. Speedway rapidly going downhill until someone says enough is enough and we must listen to what the paying public actually would like.

Did the MDL meeting get completed, and considering the earlier start time on a Friday, what sort of crowd was there?

If John Cook doesn't like negativity, he shouldn't be involved in Speedway. Speedway at the moment is full of negativity and the only way forward is for Promoters to start listening to fans. If Cook actually faced up to the problems then perhaps he could turn a declining sport into a thriving one. Although this forum is full of differing opinions, the majority of people seem to agree on some of the major issues, so why don't promoters take on board what most fans are asking for and do something positive for once. For too long now, all that has been done is to paper over the cracks without any successful results. Now is the time to redecorate properly and re-establish the sport with credibility. There are still thousands of fans of Speedway, it's just about getting the product right and getting those fans back into the Stadiums. Sometimes you need to take a step backward to make 2 forward.

Another problem with trying to stop the doubling-up is how will a rider make up his lost income if he can only ride for 1 club. If the rider hasn't got any overseas teams, and say his 1 club has a couple of rain-offs or no meetings for a couple of weeks, how will they make a decent income? I personally hate the doubling-up scenario and think it's a farce, but how do you resolve it so it pleases everyone?

Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
rocket007 replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I have no allegiance to either team, so this question is as a neutral. Was there a valid reason for Leicester's Polish rider to miss the meeting? If there wasn't, I believe it is in the rules that only a NL rider could take his place and not R/R. Have Sheffield ridden under protest, or was it done to make Leicester strong enough to make sure they won. -
Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
rocket007 replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
For the 2 play-off meetings between Wolves & Swindon, the cameras kept panning the HUGE crowds watching. Last night, I don't remember once the cameras panning the crowd. Could anyone tell me whether the crowd last night was much bigger than a normal Sheffield meeting, as there didn't seem to be a lot there. Or was the crowd that low because everyone realised what a farce of a meeting it was. -
Wasn't the new Stadium to be built in ready made kit form and just assembled on site? I believe there was an article a while ago in the Speedway Star about someone(can't remember who) visiting the manufacturers to see the progress. Surely by now, this would have been finished so is it all in storage ready to go. If the new Stadium doesn't go ahead, who pays for what has already been made, or was the storey just Bull to pacify supporters.

Nl Riders Championship Leicester Sun Sep 24th 3pm

Can you elaborate on the Davey incident. I haven't seen or heard anything about it. -
For what Football Club would a stadium be built for?

It must be the first time that people are actually saying they would like to see the same 1-7 back. Heard that both Harris & Nicholls have really enjoyed their time at Rye and would like to stay. As it's the end of the season(almost) I would like to echo what others have said and a BIG thank you to all Management, Staff, Paramedics and Riders for their efforts this season. Riders seem to all get on and not many complaints, and all have given 100%. Not always worked out for some Riders, but they all tried and that is the main thing. Hope improvements continue throughout winter and look forward to coming back next year.

Are Rye going to re-arrange the Coventry meeting?

Lahti will probably replace either of the Lamberts. -
Kings Lynn V Poole 31/8/17
rocket007 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
For this meeting and the integrity of the sport, riders tonight should not be allowed to guest for the other side. You could have a hypothetical situation with say Shanes has a blinder and scores 13 or 14, and then replaces S.Lambert(with a injury?) in 2nd match if he has only scored 2 or 3 -
Because your meeting was a meaningless one, whereas Rye's was far more important. Rye and Bomber did you a favour when he joined you, so you could have returned that favour. Quite rightly, Peterborough are being slated for selling out to a foreign team for plenty of money and would have been slated again but Rye refused their demands.

Stating that the track was poor because it hadn't been ridden on for 5 weeks, whose fault is that. Speedway used to be and should be a weekly event at all tracks where possible, not nothing for weeks on end then 3 or 4 meetings in a few days. Also heard from a reliable source that Peterborough wanted an excessive amount of money to release Bomber to Rye House last night. If true, totally disgusting way to promote. I thought when Holder was let free to ride for Torun something should have been done about it. Totally discredited the sport and the loyal fans. Peterborough management might just end up getting what they deserve, but it's the fans who always lose out.

Belle Vue V Rye House 30 Aug 2017
rocket007 replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can't see that either the Rye or Peterborough meetings are re-arranged(I might be wrong) so I don't know why Bomber has to ride in a meaningless fixture at Peterborough when it is more crucial that he rides for Rye. If Peterborough are happy to let Holder ride in Poland, then why can't they release Bomber for Rye, or is it because he is their best crowd puller? -
Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House

Did they bother to inform the supporters of this before they started the 2nd meeting? -
Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House
rocket007 replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Was there an official reason as to why the second Kings Lynn v Wolves meeting was abandoned at 10 heats. If there is no curfew then why was it stopped, and if there is a curfew then will Rye House only have 10 heats if it's going ahead on Thursday. Also if it is not raced before cut-off date and becomes a dead meeting, Rye House should refuse to go back there. -

rocket007 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As a Rye House Supporter, if I travel up next Wednesday for the second meeting only, how much will the admission price be for the 10 heats(as that is all that Kings Lynn will be able to fit in) Also, was yesterdays second meeting abandoned because of a curfew, or because nobody could be bothered anymore. -
Fixture Cut Off Date...has It Been Extended?
rocket007 replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There shouldn't be any outstanding fixtures. Teams have gone week after week without holding a meeting when there used to be regular weekly meetings. With our usual Bank Holiday weather, what happens next week if the double headers are off.
