  1. I thought when Hackney closed and they demolished most of the buildings in and around Waterden Road for the 2012 Olympic site, that a Speedway Track was to be incorporated somewhere within that site.
  2. They may be good at welcoming fans, but not very good at sending out merchandise purchased online. Took payment rapidly but not replied to 4 further emails.
  3. And probably bust again before the season is done. I understand that the crowds have really dropped from the opening day. Maybe because there hasn't been a really successful team, and next season must be a worry as people won't turn out to see a side lose every week. I would guess that the area of Workington can only appeal to a certain amount of Speedway fans, and most of those will only go if the Comets are winning all the time. Hope i've got it all wrong,(and good luck) but it must a worry.
  4. My point was that with Football getting about 800 or so, and Speedway getting on average 800+ or so, 50% of those people probably go to both. I can't see why either one would want to go in direct competition with each other. Both could of been changed one way or another, but it seems strange that they didn't want to.
  5. Would it not have been possible for the Football to move to Friday night?
  6. With Speedway and Football both on in the town on the same day starting at 3pm, would it not been possible to say start Speedway at 2pm with the Football at 4pm. With neither clubs getting massive support, surely they are both vying for the same people. A lot of folk (and neutrals) could well of done both.
  7. Updates is saying that meeting is OFF. Is it raining that heavy there?
  8. This sport is an absolute joke. There are more clowns in it than Billy Smarts Circus. If a Team owner won't pay the wages of one of his contracted riders, then why is a facility allowed to cover. Speedway should become like Football, let clubs sign who they like, do away with averages, have one rising star per team. If a side wants to have the best 6 + r/s then so be it. Crowds would probably increase with better riders on show more often. Teams like Man City don't have to get rid of their best players because they won the league, instead they can go and get even better players if required. Speedway should follow this same route. If a Speedway owner has the money, let them get who they want. I would rather pay to watch a side with 6 top riders and a Rookie, than one top rider, one has-been, two never-will, two who might and a youngster. It's time Speedway changed their model as presently it is not working and something needs to be done soon before either Speedway dies or all the supporters who used to go.
  9. Who is Ben Morley riding for tonight? Apart from Plymouth, He is also declared in the line-up for the Isle of Wight v Rye House challenge match tonight.
  10. I had to leave following the main meeting. Does anyone have the full results from the 2nd half please.
  11. If his Dad was really ill, why not go to see track Dr then surely a facility would be available to Leicester due to mitigating circumstances. Also, if Dad was that ill, was it wise to drive straight back home. There's more to this than meets the eye.
  12. Are you returning the favour as they must of screwed you enough times in the past.
  13. With an army of volunteers (like what happened at Oxford) 50% of that could be cleared and rectified. The other 50% could do with Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team(or The Big Build). I am sure that local trades people would chip in to help something like that in their area.
