  1. So was Leigh Adams Not sure I agree, the track may not be good, but there as been some excellent racing I thought, for once mainly from the Brits. No, not the best racing meeting, but entertaining. No he never. The ref got it wrong, how the heck can Pederson con the ref when on each occasion he was laying on the track. The referee got it totally wrong on each occasion, do not blame Pederson. And for me, the biggest embarrassment of the night is that idiot Nigel Pearson. I have never heard a sports commentator make such an arrogant and disgraceful comment as 'end of' thus proclaiming his opinion is the only opinion worthy of consideration. Nigel 'scoop' Pearson is the biggest embarrassment to British speedway because if he irritates us fans, imagine what non fans must be thinking, and some may well be turning off. On another more positive note, how great to see Johno doing the pit walk, informative and interesting, and the riders like him so he interviews well. Reminds me of the Brundle F1 pit walk.
  2. Hi Arnieg, Thank you so much for your detailed description, I was able to find my way around the site, thank you. One question, on the list of riders for each club, there is a title of 'Juniorzy' with more riders, I assume Juniors? Do they race for the club too? Thanks again everyone for your replies. Will let you know where I end up going, much depends on my non speedway Polish friend and where she wants to go back in her homeland lol.
  3. Thank you to both of you, is there a website which lists the league teams and their riders (so I can pick and choose). I have tried Google, but I get all sorts of sites, often referring to last season.
  4. I have decided to sample the delights of Polish speedway with a Polish friend, but I have no idea on tracks, ideally I am looking to find a track close'ish to a big city / airport served by the UK. I wonder if any of our Polish friends can recommend any tracks that may be close to a big city and airport so I can make a day or two of it? Ideally, a good big racing track Thanks.
  5. I agree, he was well on the pace tonight, but he still lacks that killer instinct at this level. When to close the door hard, when to take the race line well wide.
  6. Kelvin is not so bad Subedei, in fact I really think he is improving and we must remember he is learning his trade. But the PPP Imbecile, well, I wish I could mute him on my TV rather than the entire TV.
  7. They would if they used the Sky coverage to write the report.
  8. Well bully for you, I also thought I knew, but must admit PPP started clouding my judgement and I had no idea so had to come on here to check in case of some daft new rule change. The difference is I am allowed to not know, I am not paid to provide factually correct commentary to the masses, PPP is.
  9. How anyone can say Pearson is ok to commentate on Speedway after not even knowing who wins a GP is beyond me. Anyway, back to this GP. Lets be honest, how many of you turned off? Very few of us! This was the most entertaining GP since Cardiff last year, you could not take your eyes off for a minute because the track, shocking as it was, did create for entertaining and exciting action. Sadly it was entertaining for the wrong reasons (i.e. injured riders). Lets be frank about this, the first few heats prove my theory, had those ruts not developed this would have been another boring, first out of the gate, follow the leader procession of a GP. Back to the next GP, how can we create an entertaining GP? Is it the poor slick tracks, or is it the fact the bikes are so fast that given a few bike lengths head start at the first bend, they are so fast and reliable that you can't have good racing? I don't know, I need a rider to answer that question. However, I do want to say that entertaining as Saturday was, I would never want any rider to be injured and we must never see tracks like that again at the top level of the sport, well any level for that.
  10. Most top riders (and sportsman) for that are ruthless, Pedersen can be very, very hard, in the past some of the best speedway riders in the world have been ruthless, it is why they reach the top. Gollob as been consistently top for so many years now, and that is because on his day he is superb, and when needed will be ruthless. Look at F1, Schumacher, Senna, Prost were all equally ruthless at times.
  11. And also tell the prat to stop shouting during close racing, or incidents. I know he needs to show excitement in his commentary, but most other sports commentators can do it without shouting.
  12. PPP always talks crap, I just hope the riders don't think all speedway fans are as brown nosing and stupid as PPP.
  13. Not on purpose no, it was racing. Just seems to me every time Gollob is involved half the speedway world paint him as the guilty party before the wheels have stopped turning.
  14. Aah, nothing like a bit of Gollob bashing to bring everyone together. Geez....
  15. Do they mean they have a football pitch over the edges of the bends normally?
  16. The sad part is that the dodgy track is making for the most entertaining GP of the season to date. It really should not be like that should it! On a side note, how many times during a Sky meeting does that pointless, prattling Pearson have to go on about speedway riders being made of tough stuff? I have lost count tonight in the GP, he is right, but it is a tad brown tonguish from Pearson, and he keeps going on about footballers rolling around with little knocks, compared to speedway riders, whilst I agree that speedway riders do get more knocked around etc, he clearly as not had any football boot studs on his shins! Happy to oblige Nige if you want to do your research about why footballers roll around in agony some times.
  17. So Chris Harris battling in a couple of heats, which resulted in one rider kissing the air fence was not showing any kind of bottle? Lee Richardson also mixed it pretty hard in once race. Ok... I should be talking about them mixing it in every race, and the England performance was poor, no arguments here, but I don't think making a comment that they showed no bottle is neither justified, nor fair.
  18. Interesting to see the speedwaytv website makes no mention of the controversy.
  19. Mmm.. can someone explain to me why so many people on here think the manager is to blame for tonights performance? What other manager would have made any difference tonight, there was very few other riders available to him that would or could have done much better. The only question I can not answer is if he is a good motivator, but even a better motivator would have done very little to change the performance tonight, the riders were simply not fast eonough out the gate or on the track.
  20. Mmm... I never heard Leigh Adams say the racing was boring. The track may have been different tonight than it is usually for Leigh, but that does not mean the racing was poor as you suggested earlier.
  21. You are indeed entitled to an opinion, but how anyone can question the racing tonight is beyond me. I wonder if you just hold a view the opposite to the majority to wind people up? The racing was first class tonight. Unbelievable, what more do people want from the sport if tonights racing was 'not acceptable'? Unbelievable/
  22. I am not a Hans fan, but did Poland win 'fair and square', I suspect not just the Danes are questioning that, so I think for forum users to use this to take snide digs at Hans is pretty poor in itself.
  23. I think you must have been watching the cricket on Sky Sports 1, the racing was superb, and far superior to the average Elite League racing we get on a Monday night.
  24. No you are not, I meant to post earlier but got lost in the TV, the guy is well out of order.
  25. I disagree, I think he is a poor pundit, but a better commentator (although I think Johno is better). Pearson is really doing my head in. How many times have we had its 'fast and furious' tonight from Pearson? I counted 5 I think, and his usual 'who says speedway is boring' with at least a couple of his usual 'top draw'. The main is full of cliché claptrap.
