  1. Oh right, thank you Lisa. I wonder if maybe the mods should have posted that when closing the thread then, it happened Monday night and I know I was not the only one wondering.
  2. And earlier in the meeting when I think it was a Swede went down in second to give him the second he shut off half way down the back straight, rather than keep it tight to the line and carry on. He was lucky the Russian was not racing him close for that 3rd point, or he could have lost the gifted 2 points.
  3. Out of interest why were these SWC threads closed tonight again?
  4. Agreed, suppose it was an off night, but, as one of the 3 experienced riders he cant afford an off night.
  5. In fairness I don't think Chris is living off winning one GP, all be it the British GP it is Sky who have made him out to be a superstar rider from that single one GP. I dare say Harris himself admits he needs to be reaching semi-finals consistently to take him to that next stage in his development.
  6. I think that sums this forum up, people who do not have the intelligence to read beyond one line and put up good, constructive debates. The originating thread starter put together a very thought provoking and constructive discussion topic and made some very valid points and the first reply he gets is.. "I really can't be arsed to read it."
  7. After a disgraceful performance from Forest away from the City Ground about three seasons ago, then manager Gary Megson grabbed two fans from the terraces who had been a tad vocal and took them in the dressing room and got the two fans to tell the players what they thought of them! They played much better next time out.
  8. So the only true fans whose opinions count are those that suck up the riders like Scotty at hotels? Mmmm, ok.
  9. Not helped by idiots like Pearson bigging up every 2 seconds, Woofy, Woofy, Woofy. I counted 6 or 7 mentions last night. Last year it was 'Bomber Harris' this, 'Bomber Harris' that, which results in many fans expecting these riders to win every single race, every single GP.
  10. Don't get me wrong, I think Mr Nicholls is overrated and needs to be reaching GP finals several times a year to prove me wrong. But, if I was Lynch I would have thought about making that move too, my point is we should not blame Lynch, but Nicholls because he should have been capable of winning that race, and should have done. Fully agree Sandie. We all know they were poor tonight, the riders all seemed to acknowledge that too. However, they still have a chance to prove to themselves they're good enough and to prove to us they're good enough. So lets get them our support and hope tonight was a mere blip, which they prove on Thursday. I don't expect them to win the final on Saturday if they do make it, but if they hold their own and win a few races and stay close to the points tally then it will show there is something there to work with for future years.
  11. get it right, the riders were inept, all of them. Not all Lynch fault.
  12. Disagree Subedei, I think it was a great chance at that stage to get us back in the frame, and who knows had it worked the morale would have been back up and things may have gone a little better. On paper Nicholls should have been more than capable of beating all three riders in that race. I don't blame Lynch for that!
  13. I am not sure, I am just going off what they said early on, that it was slick. I agree they should be capable of riding it, and the track is no excuse but my point being Andy that we are at home, so why not prepare a track that gives us an advantage and use our home advantage. Chances are we would have still messed up, but hey, every little helps.
  14. Exactly, I am afraid I am starting to question the manager here. How can Stead and Allen be motivated when they're told, ride at home but we don't want you after that? Very dodgy management. The Danes are all up for it, working like a team so I think national pride is there, but appearing lacking in the British pits tonight.
  15. Whilst I agree about the infrastructure and the lack of talent the likes of Nicholls, Harris and Richardson should be more than capable of scoring more than 10 points alone between them after 2 rides each, 3 for Nicholls.
  16. Quite a few comments about the track being slick by the riders tonight, which begs the question why did we not prepare the track exactly how the British riders wanted it? You can be sure Vojens will be slick Saturday night, the Poles have their track how they wanted it last year so why do we never do the same? If the track is how the British riders wanted it, judging by their performance so far tonight they have got it wrong. Note: Even had it been different, I suspect the Danes would still be walking away with it, they are that good.
  17. To be fair, the riders are poor, the track seems to have been preapred for the Danes the only think I might have done different is have Kennett in for Stead so would Middlo done any better? I don't know him, is he a better motivatror than Lynch?
  18. Don't get me wrong, I do love the SWC and I agree it is great entertainment but I long for what appears to be the lost art of team riding.
  19. Something that struck me with the 4TT type format is that the best set of riders win, but this does not showcase the best 'team racers' and I wondered why the 4TT format is used rather than two riders from two countries each race? I am sure this format was used in an international format previously, although may have been years ago now. I guess under this current format the best team may still win in terms of pit morale and helping each other out that way, but I love to see riders team race and this would be a great showcase for that.
  20. Agreed. They were totally clueless, it was embarrassing and pathetic. If NP was British they would have been blaming the ref and cheering the rider and calling it hard racing. NP was at fault, but he should not have been booed for getting lucky, the ref was the one to blame, not NP.
  21. Eeer, Kennett was useless, off the pace and so naive to let to keep a wide outside line and let two riders through in his final ride. Once is forgivable, but to stay there and let another rider through shows that at the moment he is not good enough. Makes you question the silly qualification we use for the wildcard. Fair play to Nicholls though, he was superb last night, I have been critical of him for not being good enough in other GPs, but last night he proved he can be hard and determined enough. If he can do that for the rest of the GPs this season then he will have my support.
  22. What a load of rubbish, unless you're an international speedway rider past or present then you have no authority to make such a comment. He got pretty battered about tonight, you don't lay it down to get battered about. Don't get me wrong, each occasion I think NP was to blame, but he was not conning anyone, he just got very, very lucky.
  23. Yeah think I agreed it was not the best, but still provided for some entertainment. Not much, but have seen much worse GPs this season. Does look to to be a superb atmosphere though.
