  1. odd not really on form at the moments would say broc or maybe justin.not sure of his liking for somerset though.
  2. does anyone know who's riding with danny at the pairs on friday?
  3. Agree with everything you say.our riders are decent at home but apart from the odd few have been poor away.having said that, look at edinbro as a typical example of that.as iv,e mentioned before we need an out and out number one in the Sam masters mode who are comfortable wherever they ride and build the team from there.agree about broc but fear he could well be Eastbourne bound going on what a few folks have said.we have missed Kyle especially away as he attacks tricky tracks like edinbro.would have Kyle, broc,a good number one and build from there.
  4. nigel nigel lol.don,t think he's any angel!
  5. words fail me.so so sorry for all of the stoke fans and management.yet another club that brought me many memories as mentioned down the years is soon set to join the list of defunct tracks.it is not just because of the sport itself, there are many other factors contributing to the sports demise.i am part way through an excellent book at the moment ,that being dave mortons autobiography and he mentions that crewe folded with crowds around 2000 so it brings things into perspective.estimated crowd at sheffield for the c.l.r.c around 1500.not good.times and things have also changed.apart from the old stalwarts like us who aren't getting any younger there are not enough youngsters watching the sport because of other interests.i feel for the stoke fans and truly believe that you won't be the last.the powers that be that show the sport on t.v only seem to be interested in the top league and g.p,s with no lower league racing shown so the championship and d.league don't get any coverage, yes angel pearson does sometimes mention where to watch the championship but its not like actually seeing the sport at the venues.i hope that no more clubs fold but am not holding my breath.
  6. let scunthorpe have it.it would be one hell of a meeting
  7. love the banter between you and the monarchs as well.is what speedway needs.don,t let it die
  8. yourself and fromafar, get yourselves down to berwick and for goodness sake support your team.you are in the play offs and have a good chance of finishing top of the pile.take the scunny defeat on the chin and get down there.me and the missus were in two minds wether to go to eastbourne or not last week but went anyway and saw a really good meeting.double header as well,no brainer.
  9. any news on wether a buyer has been found yet?
  10. Ipswich and Somerset never dropped to NDL though, yes championship but there is a massive gulf between championship and NDL.not so much prem to championship as a bid majority ride prem anyway.if a lot more teams had to drop to NDL then the sport would be on its arse(not that it isn,t already).
  11. Sorry but can,t agree.i know supporters don,t own the club's or pay the bills but with very few supporters the bills wouldn,t get paid anyway and I would think that many supporters wouldn,t be happy watching NFL on a regular basis and if this was the case why havn,t other clubs who dropped out of the league do this?
  12. do you really believe the likes of berwick, eastbourne, redcar and scunthorpe would want to go NDL.maybe supporters wouldn't,t want to see that on a regular basis.while i know it is what it says, a development league, supporters want to see the top guys racing week in week out or every other week just about as has been the norm this season,
  13. does anyone know when we will get to know the line ups for this meeting please?
  14. never been to birmingham but crikey i cannot believe peoples naivety.a supermarket/shop isn't going to tolerate people leaving their cars there for a few hours.they are trying to run a business.the car park is for their customers.you would be miffed if it was your shop and people were just abandoning cars there for several hours.pay to use the appropriate car park at the stadium.if you get a ticket tough titty
  15. Where was the entertainment also on sunday.just a few rider interviews that you either can,t hear or can,t be bothered to listen also the Tigers mascot firing Sheffield related merchandise at visiting supporters.really poor and yes that podium is dog and owner related.apart from the trophy what was the prize for winning the meeting?
  16. shawn moran for me.sheffield getting pasted all over the place away but one thing was pretty much nailed on that no home rider would go through the card unbeaten.magic to watch.
  17. at the end of the day its the old dave allen syndrome again.he doesn't, give two flying f...s about speedway.he is just out to line his own pockets so that's why food and drink are not allowed in so that you have to use his facilities.for christ, s sake its hard enough trying to find the admission money let alone then being ripped off for,as you say, the tasteless, bland rubbishe that is served up in the cafeteria.do they think that by putting chips etc into a round cardboard container is going to make them taste any better.wrong.still the same old rubbish dressed up.it is never going to alter either because the speedway side of things have no say in the matter.eastbourne on saturday night however was like a breath of fresh air.they have their own catering block where the food was greater burger van where again the food was greater big van full of choices, sweets, candy floss etc for the kids plus drinks and is all run very professionally.plus after races the riders come round and do high fives with the kids etc on the way back round to the pits.good atmosphere and good set up.
  18. The meeting had been held there for a while now,o.k lighting isn,t the best but the track is good usually and so is the atmosphere.the re run a couple of years ago was at Sheffield and there are no seats there either.the idea of it being at Somerset is for it to tie in with Cardiff and make it a good weekend if it is your intention to attend both meetings as it is more accessible.love it being at Somerset, long may it continue.
  19. Have to agree, even though the racing was marginally better towards the end,the earlier heats were very processional.track not been the same since Grahame Trollope stopped doing it and never will be.i do know why he won't be doing it anymore but won,t comment any further.hard luck Danny,so close and a special mention for zaine who didn't look out of his depth at all.great crowd and a great atmosphere which deserved a much better riding surface.
