Poole v Leicester Prem A. 30/5/18
Mattfordfan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oh dear. -
James got sacked because he struggled to beat an opposing rider. Simple as that. Shanes' scores against opposing riders only. (Not including points scored against Poole riders when being on the receiving end of a 5-1) BV Home - 2, 0, 0 BV Away - 0, 0, 1* Swindon Home - 1, 1*, FD Wolves Away - 0, 0, 0, 1* Somerset Away - 0, 0, 0, 0 Now Shanes' guest appearances for Somerset Wolves Away - F, 0, 1 BV Home - 1*, 0, 0 Overall he hasn't achieved his 2.00 point average against opposing riders in 5 of those 7 meeting's
-
No.....They have said that he is a VICTIM of poor performances from others. They are trying to act like Shanes was a saint and didn't do anything wrong and it's everyone else's fault. Which is wrong. I have been right from Day 1 regarding Shanes. James scored the vast majority of his points against Poole riders only. Now. Let's say Shanes is riding with Kasprzak 3 times and Kasprzak cant be bothered so he gives up and retires in those 3 races then James Shanes would have 3 points next to his name. Some would say 3 points.....Job done.....But it's not job done because he hasn't beaten an opposing rider and only scored points against KK who put in no effort whatsoever.
-
You cant replace him if all riders rode to there averages......Because all the replacement options would be just as poor as Shanes. The whole point of a team change is to improve the team. Unless it's a Mitchell Davey type of situation. For example Smith for Shanes = Lose lose situation. Neither rider is going to do anything therefore no point in making the change.
-
Matt wouldn't want any of those anyway. Only way any of those would get a team spot at Poole is if British Speedway bosses forced Matt Ford into using one of them.
-
I know but when you look at the teams Poole had when they won those league titles it's completely different to now. Look at Man City for example they've won a couple of premiership titles because they had the team......But before the money was invested in them they were only in the Premiership to make the numbers up. Steve McLaren could manage Bayern Munich and they would still walk the Bundesliga.....Because they have the team.....But the fact is McLaren is not a good manager. So my point is that Middlo might not be as good as people think he is. I'm not saying he's a poor manager because he isn't. People say look at Middlo's record but when you look at the teams we had those year's as well. It makes Middlo's job a lot easier to do. For example the last 4 league titles. 2011 - Holder & Ward were in the team. 2013 - Ward, Hancock, Holder, Pawlicki 2014 - Ward, Holder, Janowski, Pawlicki, Milik 2015 - Janowski & Holder as a top two. Its different times now......Middlo's skills are being put to the test now. Just like every other manager in the league. Poole have not got the best out of riders in the last few years. We are not talking about 1 or 2 riders we are talking about quite a few riders. So you have to look at the bigger picture and think why is this happening. Who is to blame for consistent underperforming riders. Just like any other sport you have to look at the manager. Then you look at Swindon and how well Rosco does with the resources he has and how well he does with his riders. Middlo has done well when he had the teams consisting of riders above. I'm spot on regarding Shanes.........Stand by everything I said on that debate.
-
Now you're being silly. I can take the flack.......No problem. I'm a straight talker if you don't like it then it's best to put me on ignore because I can provide evidence to back up my claims just like last night with the Shanes debate.
-
I'm not blaming Middlo for everything. Just saying those 2 riders wouldn't be the same under Middlo's management. Even when I pay a compliment to someone I get come backs on it lol. Going back to straight talking facts now. The record is when Poole had everything on a plate. We had the GP stars and it made Middlo's job so much easier. Just like it would make any other manager's job easier. When you can send out a Darcy & Chris partnership or a Janowski & Pawlicki partnership for example then you can't go wrong. Those times are gone....For every club. Now Middlo has to get the best out of riders who are nowhere near that level.....and he cant do it.
-
Rosco is the perfect team manager for those riders. Alun knows what makes certain riders tick. Bellego and Wajtknecht wouldn't be the same riders under Middlo's management (My opinion)

I would on get rid of Szczepaniak now tbh. Heat 15 at Wolverhampton just sums up our season and it's not meant to be. We aren't going to win the league this season because our 1-7 has a number of faults from top to bottom. *No Number 1 - Brady Kurtz is a No.3/No.5 *A captain who has struggled due to quitting the Championship and choosing to go big in Poland (My opinion) *A reserve who has been dropped twice in Poland already this season due to abysmal performances. His brother is having a bad season also so maybe it's engine problems? *No team leader - We don't have a Hans Andersen type of character in the pits. Josh Grajczonek is not a team leader/captain. Too much pressure on Josh in the captains role (My opinion) *No firepower in the big Heats - We are effectively sending out a No.3/No.5 and a second string in the big Heats. The Number 1 position and the firepower in the big heats are unsolvable because Matt has clearly stated that he cannot tempt any big riders to Britain. Therefore you might as well forget about this year because any team changes will more than likely be a like for like replacement and they will not solve the current problems in the side. Might as well plan ahead for next year and keep riders like Grajczonek on low 5ish averages instead of letting other teams take advantage by signing these riders on lucrative averages. -
Nothing is disrespectful. People are having a James Shanes debate.....I spoke the truth.....I have provided the evidence to back up my claims after Adam's Daddy had a hissy fit. I said Shanes was lucky to have done a lap around Poole this season and it's the truth because if Matt didn't get certain riders he wanted then Shanes wouldn't have gotten a team place from the get go. I also said Shanes was only signed because of the Sundstrom signing......Again I am right because Sundstrom was the 6th confirmed signing and then Shanes was announced right after. Shanes had to wait all winter to get a team berth that always depended on signing's higher up.
-
Won't be replying anymore because I have provided facts to back up my claims. Adam's Daddy can say what he likes because it doesn't make a difference to my life. End of the day I have spoke the truth and some of you don't like it but that's not my problem. The 2 posts above make it crystal clear...........James Shanes only got a team berth because Matt managed to get the Sundstrom deal completed. No Sundstrom..........Would have meant no Shanes.
-
Here is another piece from the Bournemouth Echo The Poole boss stated his intention to bring back Shanes in October but the move was always dependent on which riders came in higher up the order. Therefore I'm 100% right. James Shanes wouldn't have been signed if the Linus Sundstrom deal fell through.
-
This quote speaks volumes doesn't it. Does this sound like a promoter who was very keen to sign James to a deal? - NO IT DOESNT! If Matt Ford really wanted James Shanes in the 1-7 then he wouldn't have made him wait for the other 6 to be signed - FACT Ford added: "James has had to wait patiently for the rest of the team to be built
-
By who exactly. Someone's Daddy throwing a hissy fit because he doesn't like the truth. Like I said I find you lot very funny. I tell you a fact you don't like it so you break forum rules in replying to me. Simple question to the haters. If Matt really wanted Shanes back then why did he have to wait until the Sundstrom deal was completed? Surely James would have been signed earlier on in the winter if Matt really wanted him in the septet. Yet James had to wait months and months for the other 6 to be signed first. Crystal clear.
-
If you don't like my comments then don't reply. I'm right and you're wrong.....Not even debateable. Matt was only going to sign Shanes if he could get Sundstrom in...........FACT! No Sundstrom then Shanes wouldn't have been signed from the get go......FACT! He only got a team berth because the Poles gave Sundstrom the green light to sign for Poole.........FACT! Therefore he is lucky to have done a lap for Poole this season. If you don't like my comments then I suggest you tuck Adam into bed and read him a bed time story.

You should have brought Greaves in for Morris and kept Heeps in the Heat. Morris hasn't done anything either remember. -

F**K sake Brady and Linus. What on earth are they doing. -

But Heeps is a more experienced rider. Yes he has been poor but putting out a reserve pairing in Heat 12 is very risky. -

Kacper has brought his Polish form with him tonight after Heat 2. What on earth was Peter Adams thinking in Heat 12? -

Didn't slag off Woryna just said after getting beat by greaves that he isn't suited to British tracks. Keep the name calling coming. I'm enjoying it. Listening to you and your best friend (Gavan) getting aggressive over a speedway result in progress is very funny. -

Not my fault your upset with the current score line at Wolverhampton. Won't be replying to you and the doctor or any other cry baby on here tonight. The majority of our boys have turned up tonight and now you and the doctor are pi**ed off because of it. Keep putting out the bait. I'm not biting. -
