If Jakobsen was to be a 5.00 then I would give him a go but not on a 7.00 because he would never achieve that in his first season riding tracks for the first time. He doesn't deserve such a lengthy ban. A ban yes fair enough. But not the one he has been given on top of his original ban. Other riders didn't go to the tapes that night. They didn't get banned though. Holder made an effort to continue racing (Heat 11) Yet Lambert and Huckenbeck didn't bother going to the tapes at all in Heat 9. If we don't go top heavy then we will more than likely have 4 to 4.5 points left for another reserve therefore there would be no point in signing Shanes because the team would be built way under the points limit.
