  1. Are there likely to be any signings announced this weekend at the winter event at Ibrox?
  2. Both must have been practising for next season
  3. A team along these lines may keep Sarjeant at reserve all season which is what Tigers lacked this year. If he is signing then that could be a smart move by the Promotion.
  4. I think you will find that was the case, Joe and Tom Owen were used by Hull, Steve Lawson was also used by Cradley but these riders always rode firstly for their National League side ahead of their British League side (The old names for the league's). So history shows that this was already happening in the 70's and 80's but today it is just ridiculous.
  5. You may be missing the point (and I do respect your opinion), if the leagues do not race on the same nights, which is the plan, then there will be no clashes and you will have your team to support. We have had one big league before and it only lasted 1 season so that can't be a long term solution. Separate fixed race nights is new, innovative and definitely worth a try for the reasons that I have given. Surely it can't get any worse.
  6. Which is why we need set racenights with no exceptions. Premiership have a choice of 2 race nights per week so they would have options to fit in rain off's and rearranged fixtures.
  7. Riders to remain in the pits until the 2 minute warning comes on, that will limit gardening and faffing about.
  8. Leicester should NOT be allowed a facility, they should have to use a National League guest. This season really has been a farce
  9. Poor show from Glasgow heatleaders Summers and Worrall and I bet they are grateful for Sarjeant! What is going on? Well done Sheffield but I think Edinburgh have their name on it!
  10. Dan is already out in Heat 8. Who would be better at number 5? Worrall has scored 4 on each of his last 2 visits and Summers seems to be badly off form and didn't win a race there 3 weeks ago. Like I said before, a difficult one..
  11. Gives Glasgow as strong a finish as possible. Difficult to know what to do here, Glasgow only got 2 points from the second string number 4 position last time. Where would you suggest SharpenRake?
  12. Friday nights on GP weekends means the GP riders will be missing because of practice.
  13. Surely if you had a fixed (maybe 2) race nights for Premiership, then the Championship could race on the other nights, still doubling up but NO fixture clashes.
  14. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and a bonus point for overall aggregate win. In the event of a tie after two legs a match race between nominated riders to decide. It worked perfectly well before.
  15. They are currently the best team in the league. Because there are so many doubling up riders the team has the look of a Championship side (except obviously Doyle) so you can't compare against previous seasons. They do look title favourites at this stage.
  16. Is Richie Worrall riding tonight? He hurt his knee in Poland on Saturday night and missed the four's yesterday.
  17. I think you need to look further here, it's easy to blame the track staff but maybe they aren't being given the tools to do the job. To have exciting racing you need dirt the lack of which has been mentioned since the first match. I haven't returned since then but it doesn't seem to have changed. without dirt you need to gate, where is the excitement in that? Tigers have racers in the team so give them dirt.
  18. Should be an excellent match so long as the track has plenty of grip. It could be gate and go as there are plenty quick gaters in either team so you want some dirt for opportunities to pass.
  19. Brought someone new along on Saturday night but not a good match to bring her to. Basically 1 pass out of 15 races with little or no dirt on the track. According to someone who used to work on the track the owners decided that a slick track will provide better races. A few of the riders weren't pleased with the conditions and apparently the track was ripped up at the start area about 45 minutes before the first race. Didn't look as if it made any difference coz there was nothing to rip or grade. Was disappointed after all the build up in the papers and social media and this has to be the worst opening meeting in 8 years of coming to Glasgow. Hope it gets better, it's the riders that should have the say on what kind of track they want.
  20. If you have a good racing surface with dirt on it, the majority of which is still there at the end of the meeting, you will have good racing. What you don't want is blue line racing. The NSS track is well prepared and that's why ALL riders have a chance.
  21. Are you going to ride in the Ben Fund meeting David? That would be a good test for you as you rode there for a spell too.
  22. So what's the fans reaction to the Ben Fund line up so far? Who would you like to see riding in it?
  23. Some great meetings at Glasgow this year. Ben Fund (any news on who is participating?) British Youth Championship's penultimate round and the Championship Riders Final. Is there likely to be a challenge match against Premiership opposition prior to the league campaign kicking off at home?
  24. People seem to be afraid to tell the owners how it is. Too much respect for them. They have been in charge for two seasons now and have done a marvellous job BUT they need to respect the supporters. They made an investment but had no previous experience of how speedway is run. Let them know what you want/expect. They can't be right all of the time.
