  1. Get the riders and a bike or two into schools, offer some free tickets out to the kids. It's not like the tracks have not to the space to fill. I'm not sure of attendances nowadays up and down the country but surely if each promotion pick out 3 or 4 schools each week and gave them even 200 tickets between them to include a few adults to chaperone them, the increase in Programme sales, food sales and maybe a souvenier or 2 would help. If for every 50 tickets they give away, it peaks the interest of a kid who persuades a parent to bring them along in future, it has to be worth it. There has to be a "cub" or an asset, even a former rider who could be at the track and let the kids sit on a bike and help sell speedway..
  2. I confess that I rarely get to Monmore because of work commitments so there are many who can judge better than I... My question.... Is Nick Morris going to improve? At the moment, there appears to be no sign of this and whilst it may have been a gamble signing him on such a low average, it has seemingly backfired so far.... That said who is available to replace him bearing in mind the available averages limit??
  3. And are the figures for RW, KH and NG correct do we know?
  4. So, apologies if I'm missing something here, but the last averages show Ricky Wells on 5.77 yet above someone has stated he'll be on 5.43... and it has also been said that Kyle Howarth and Nathan Greaves will be on reduced averages, they are currently showing as having 5.16 and 3.25 respectively.... What are the averages that will be in place?? My final question is... If Freddie is considered, what average would he start with?
  5. After 2018 didn't work out so well.... What happens next? I appreciate I am only a part-time compared to some of you on here and that a lot will depend on what daft rules/limits are introduced but surely Freddie has to be persuaded to come back?? Who goes to fit him in?? Will Rory be fit after his op?
  6. The biggest concern at present is Cameron Heeps. I know it sounds harsh after just 3 meetings but what is Plan B. Last night people said NBJ at reserve was the difference but if Heeps was performing to his average, Wolves may have won..... CVS was fairly quick to change Skornicki last season... Will he be as ruthless this year?
  7. Will be interesting to see what, if anything Pete Adams gives away tomorrow. I thought Rory Schlein was excellent last year but if you went with a top 3 of Freddie, Rory and Sam Masters and the same reserves it leaves 10.34 for 2 and 4. Basically, for that top three it probably means losing Kyle and Mark Riss for potentially weaker riders....
  8. Interesting comments on the Wolves page from Rory, saying that the Swindon riders were bickering and arguing with each other, clearly all is not well there...
  9. Interesting comments on the Wolves page from Rory, saying that the Swindon riders were bickering and arguing with each other, clearly all is not well there...
  10. Completely unexpected win, fantastic result for Wolves and the team work and camaraderie between the Wolves riders appears to be important. However we just need to ensure that there is no complacency and we effectively start again on Wednesday as though it's 0-0. Swindon possibly under estimated the position Wolves were in and didn't see that performance coming, let's hope Wolves don't think it's already won and do the same. Let's hope Mr Doyle doesn't gate at Monmore and stays out of trouble 😁😁
  11. Whoops...... didn't think that one through without knowing all of the facts did you !!!
  12. So with Swindon and Belle Vue also riding that leaves Leicester, Kings Lynn, Poole and Rye House riders plus those from the Championship that are not involved in Edinburgh v Ipswich or Scunthorpe v Peterborough on a day when the weather forecast in this miserable month actually looks ok. I would imagine that Scott Nicholls would be favourite to come in for Freddie but scratching my head to see who could replace Sam and Rory, maybe Ben Barker or Richie Worrall.. or an ex wolf like Ty Proctor, Ludvig Lindgren or Josh Bates. I wonder if they will try to tempt PK out of retirement At reserve, I suspect it will be a Tom Perry or Matt Williamson
  13. Clegg riding for Edinburgh, Ellis Perks was in the pits last night so I'm guessing he will be replacing Riss I'm sure I read somewhere that perks was riding for Somerset with Ashley Morris
  14. Interesting comments from Freddie on the Wolves page, saying that Somerset refused to change the date... Also it says Wolves are missing five riders, so we have Kyle and who else?
  15. So when are Wolves likely to announce the team for Friday? I'm guessing nicholls and clegg will be included... Who elses is free ???
  16. Think Museilak will be out to prove a point to the Wolves management???
  17. So possibly Chris Harris or Scott Nicholls in for Rory and whoever else for Kyle......
  18. Forgive my ignorance but when Wolves face Swindon, both Ipswich and Sheffield are riding... How does this affect the team with Schlein, Greaves, Howarth all doubling up?
  19. A resurgent Leicester team have beaten Belle Vue and face could well be a difficult obstacle for Wolves....
  20. Looking at the remaining fixtures I suspect the final top 4 will consist of Swindon, Belle Vue, Wolves and Rye House, probably in that order... Not rocket science I know - the top three are there already and a resurgent Rye House look to have the edge over Poole. Swindon should win their remaining home fixtures v Somerset (twice), Leicester and Wolves giving them 12 points and will probably pick up at least a point at Wolves and Rye House meaning that a 68 point tally should be enough. Belle Vue again, you would expect to beat Leicester and Kings Lynn at home, probably Rye House as well giving them 9 points and then probably get 3 or 4 points from Poole (3) and Wolves (0/1) leaving them to finish on 64 or 65. Wolves should comfortably see off Kings Lynn at home and probably get the better of Swindon and Belle Vue (allowing them both a point), struggle to get anything from Swindon away and hopefully get 3 or 4 points from Leicester given a total of 12/13 points to finish third. Although Rye House have to face Swindon and Belle Vue, these are effectively the 2 games in hand they have over Poole and Poole themselves have to face Belle Vue. Will be very interesting to see who Swindon choose to face given that Wolves are probably poorest away but have the best home record..... Now Wolves have Riss back and Masters to come back, I suspect it will be Swindon Wolves in the final, although I have a funny feeling that Rye House will spoil the party somewhere along the line.
  21. When is Riss back??? Perks is clearly not working out and although Greaves is doing ok, we are clearly struggling in the reserves races.
  22. You're facing Wolves at the right time I think.....
  23. Massive week for Wolves and couldn't have come at a worse time. We look very vulnerable with a week of away matches to see out.
  24. Not long joined this forum to keep up on the gossip etc but am sick and tired of the pathetic insulting posts on here... Can the admin guys not issue warnings and block repeat offenders using logons. IP addresses etc.... Why can't a guy just come on here and read about the latest news on Speedway..... First you have the idiots, then those who respond when they could ignore (not having a pop at the responders - just that it fills the thread with more irrelevance).... Come on guys, lets just have a decent forum, agree to disagree on certain points and leave out the personal attacks, the trolling and the childishness.
  25. I don't post here very often, probably because no matter what you say, someone jumps down your throat... But, to use football as a comparison, did the fans turn on Paul Scholes or John Terry when they refused to play for their country or do foreign fans slag off their countrymen for plying their trade in a foreign country because the pay and standard is better??? Yes I know circumstances are different before the keyboard warriors start flexing their fingers but you get the analogy. Every time a speedway rider gets on a bike they risk death and serious injury to entertain a few hardy soles that stand by what (in this country) can only be described as an industry that is devoid of ideas and is living in the past, so why shouldn't someone look after number 1? Most people on here would earn a better wage if they could and I reckon 90% of the people on here would do exactly the same if they had a similar level of talent on a bike. This guy wanted to raise the level of awareness and the profile of speedway in this country when he first became World Champ and raised thousands for charity on the back of him being the biggest name in the country. No-one on here will truly know what has happened between Tai and the powers that be, some accuse Tai of spitting his dummy out, others say the BSPA has a lack of professionalism....WE DONT KNOW THE TRUTH... Yes he has chosen not to ride for the UK at this time but he stated it wasn't permanent and left the door open, this suggests that if the problem could be sorted he would return.... Don't forget without him we wouldn't have gotten the Silver ..... We'd have been embarrassed at our newest stadium... And as for giving something back, he is still young and at his peak, let him concentrate on what he does best, he may have offered to help, he may not have, again it's speculation... We don't know... As for the people who question his tattoos and persona.... Get a bloody grip !!!
