Haven't you just stated Poole spent big on a rider to win the league? He's a Dane and Wednesday race nights don't suit.
-
Actually it was the No.4 that should have been replaced. After 3 rides he was on zero.

Danyon Hume is 24. Other than JPB (who I wouldn't have on the list) the others are all under 21. Kyle Bickley would be a better alternate.

Glasgow /Edinburgh Play Off SF 21 & 22 October

It wasn't a bike failure, he pulled his cut-out out making a start. It shouldn't make any difference to the result tonight. -
You were obviously only watching the front of the races, even Bartosz Zmarzlik almost ended up in the fence on the home straight. Rubbish meeting on a terrible track, only good thing was it was finished in time to watch Redcar's stream - great meeting on a proper race track. Today can only get better with more teams in with a chance of qualifying

Redcar Vs Leicester 10/09
gmarsbar2 replied to MartinBSN's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It seems to be a regular occurence that Redcar start slowly and finish strongly so presumably the track is set up similarly each week. You would think the home riders could find the right setup to begin the meeting. Jake Allen probably wants it smooth and slick but then you end up with gate and go, not what the fans want. It provides great entertainment all the time, so I would say Jamie keep doing what you're doing. Best race track in England! -
Redcar Vs Leicester 10/09

Great meeting, well worth the £9.99 for the stream, I will buy again. Obviously the referee doesn't have any access to the video or he wouldn't have got the heat 12 wrong. You would think at most tracks it would be easy enough to have some from of photo finish available. It could be something as simple as a tripod mounted mobile photo videoing the finish line. -
Clearly you are going by the result rather than the team tracked. You were missing the two Ben's and had Alfie Bowtell and James Wright as guests. Rory only scored 6, Stefan got 4+2. Charles Wright has the same average as Rory, 17 against Leicester last night and is normally good for double figures everywhere. Ruml scored 7+2(6) for Plymouth at Leicester only 3 weeks ago. One paper I would say you look stronger, just need to get out of the starts quicker than Leicester

Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021

Thanks, should have known the BSPL website green sheets weren't up to date. Even the preview listed Ben Cook at reserve. That'll weaken Poole now. -
Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021

Why was Ben Cook riding at 4 tonight? Has he ridden 4 away meetings? Per BSPL green sheet @ 01/09/21 he is still on 4pt assessed average and Stefan Nilsen on 4.51 Was Gary Havelock the team manager tonight? -
It says on Twitter subject to BSPL approval, their office will be shut for the weekend and Monday as it's a bank holiday in England. Glasgow are assuming he can come in on a 5 point assessed average, however he did ride in the Polish Ekstraliga for Grudziadz in 2015 & 2016 but that was as an under 21 rider.

Glasgow V Berwick - Friday 27 August 7.30pm
gmarsbar2 replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That works fine, both lower averages than the rider being replaced. Ostergaard 7.96, Lewis Kerr 7.12 Wells 6.49, Tom Brennan 6.09 However I think they will just look to find a permanent replacement for Ulrich. At this moment Kerr's the better rider but we are not the only team missing an injured rider. Brennan has been given guest bookings, so he must to be the front runner . -
22/08/21 1600 Newcastle v Kent (Champ)
gmarsbar2 replied to Old Crusader's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The level of rider in the championship is not the problem, it's the fact that there is no elite riders in the UK so second tier riders are doubling up. Team averages every year are being lower so the standard in the championship is going down. If they were to say introduce a rule that you could only have two riders over say 7.5 in a team then there might be enough heat leaders to go round. -
I know we are spoilt with the quality of racing at Glasgow but I have seen better racing at what I would call trick tracks Armadale, Berwick, Plymouth and Wolverhampton this season than I saw on Sunday. You will get close racing if there's a road block out in front stacking up the riders behind on the only racing line. Maybe that's good for the home fans when it's only the away riders that are making the mistake of drifting out wide. Max Clegg was ahead of James Wright each time they rode together, maybe he was protecting the inside line. He rode well but was gifted points, unless he passed a rider down the back straight on the first lap all of his passes were up the inside. In heat 3 he was stuck behind Sam Jensen for 4 laps. Heat 5 Craig Cook moved first, Max reacted to this and ended up getting a flyer. Heat 9 he was on the wrong end of a 5-1 until Sedgmen drifted out wide after 3 laps to gift him second. Heat 14 Jensen lead for 3 laps until checking out the dog track and letting him through for the win. Heat 15 he was last until Cook went out wide trying to pass Ben Barker which let Clegg through for third. I don't know where THJ saw this outside line. Ben Barker was busting a gut trying make the outside work, as was Steve Worrall and Craig Cook. Unless you got a slingshot out of bend 2 down the back straight on the first lap it was very difficult to pass.

This was definitely not one of the best meetings ever at Newcastle, I have seen Glasgow lose there many times but still seen some great racing round Brough Park but not on Sunday. This was the worst meeting I have been to this season it was FTG in the most part then follow the leader round the curb because if you went out wide you went backwards. The referee didn't help matters by holding the tapes really long. Riders from both sides were moving, as starts were so important. The scores being close throughout does not make it a thriller when you do not see any overtaking, that would be tense . Prepare a race track and you might be entertained. Credit to the Newcastle riders on their hard fought victory. Adam Roynon was outstanding hopefully he can continue in this vain and avoid injury.
