That’s a shame though as the point of a world championship is to have the best in the world. They should u-turn ?

Hard to look past him now. He 100% should get 1. If Chris holder gets in again over him it will be an outrage. He deserves it. Ahead of Pedersen, Lambert, Jack holder and max fricke.

Is Speedway still viable in the UK?
Danny Connor replied to JamesHarris's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
So we agree then!!!! Middle league is too strong. Stop top riders riding in it and their positions can be filled by the draft system! Keep 7 man teams though. Ive said it before but the biggest problem rider strength wise started with both the double up and the changing of the conversion rate away from 50%. it opened the door for riders over the Ave of 6.00 to fit into team building plans. -

Lynn is good too. I was going to say I think it’s still viable at some tracks. the speedway star is bitter over track closures and rightfully so. I feel as the Coventry closure probably causes then a few hundred copies. Now lakeside too. I don’t think support is dwindling at all tracks and encouragingly at lynn when we did have a low low there was still a decent hardcore at lynn who still turned up regardless. But we will pander to the weak. Dilute the product and keep the attendance cost the same and not advertise properly at some tracks and scratch our heads wondering why it’s all going wrong. 6 rider teams in 1league won’t solve that. Id keep the current system for another year. And would only dilute the middle tier by about 5 points but reflect that in admission charges. maybe bring in the reserve draft at that level. As that’s where I’m hearing most teams are struggling. Rye house were in the wrong league with over enthusiastic promoters who lost interest so that don’t count. -
In the year of coming on the forum the opinions of a few on the forum oftten seem quite detached from the people who actually go to the track! The riders seem to like riding for dale so the odd mistake or not who cares. Id argue there is more chance of the likes of lambert/riss/niels/jorgensen etc wanting to ride for us in future while he is in charge! Vocal Minority

Sport is about winning mate. But there is a happy medium earlier in a league season.. However at this point of the season I hope we plough it up deep. Intimidate the opposition and get 10 points up in the 1st 4/5 races. No point setting yourself up to fail at this point. Or neutral venue 1 leg in the track that’s been voted track of the year. But no big attendances to reward the extra points money the successful teams have to pay. Would be a better spectical though.

It’s not all doom and gloom. More admittance, fuel, program and drink money saved and I prefer speedway this time of year too. The more important meetings feel closer to the playoffs. I’d say a few lions fans (mad ones) could be tempted to it too rather than 2ce in 2 weeks. I’m what I consider part of the hardcore but meetings vs that team 2 weeks on the trot feels like a chore! Best do it in 1 night of 30 races at a discount! But don’t let the positives ruin your guys negativity! The price of fuel is high, the nights are getting longer and the creases on your foreheads are getting deeper and more plentiful. Blame buster for all life’s ills =p

Poole v Kings Lynn. Prem B. 1st August 2018
Danny Connor replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If 5 riders drop their average by just 0.10 then a team has 0.50 extra to play with and their opponents probably would gain that too. So it’s almost 1 whole point in team building between 2 teams. 1 meeting does make a difference even on a rolling system. however Brady does seem genuinely frustrated. I’m sure it’s hard to implement anyway because riders are riding for money, they do want to earn and all monies from club to rider is accountable. If a rider is being bunged to manipulate his average then surely that’s the equivalent of spot fixing in cricket and that can lead to jail time (correct me if I’m wrong). People bet on speedway. I have Poole to lose by 10 and they lose by more through average manipulation then that’s not cool. It’s hyperthetical I know though but just thinking it through. -
Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th
Danny Connor replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was a different Poole performance to a few weeks back. Maybe average lowering for next season? Or your boys have lost heart? I don’t understand how a team can perform so different. For the 1st half of the meeting it looked like pros vs amatures. I still wouldn’t choose Poole in the playoffs though. no gloating though. Still a long way to go -
Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th
Danny Connor replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole is a bit of a niche track. It’s not for everybody and last time we were there it almost cost us half our team. Its a bumpy old track and I’d rather have that in the final if we have to have it at all. It’s like the old days when Eastbourne set the track up in ways some teams hated and lakesides tight mini track. Poole is a bone shaker. Somerset have lots of experience of the Poole track through riders who have ridden for them in the past and the fact they have been there a couple of times recently and ran them close. In fact if Somerset finished top they would probably choose Poole because I feel they have them in their pocket. All 4 teams are even apart from pooles bumpy track. On a bad day their own riders even hate it. somerset/Belle Vue and Lynn are evens I’d say over 2legs with fair tracks -
Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th
Danny Connor replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I’d choose Belle Vue. Best speedway track in the country over poles motor cross track. Somerset all have good Poole experience and seem to have their number. Somerset vs kings lynn would be an amazing final! Belle Vue would be tough too though -

King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Danny Connor replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good crowd tonight and some decent racing at times too. The 1st meeting though was a mauling. Seargent kus Howarth and Morris needent have turned up but they put up more of a battle in the 2nd meeting when the track slickened . Kus and Howarth if at the back didn’t always try. The most kus tried was to steal a point off masters who had engine troubles on his last lap. Was pretty much theft. You can only beat what’s in front of you. I think next wednesday will be a nail biter. Crowd though was surprisingly good! -

Enough of them seem to dot themselves around most weeks. -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Danny Connor replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Mate. 2 meetings for the price of 1 is a great idea. I think that would attract some neutrals too. Like from Peterborough Ipswich rye house. This whole thing would have a positive spin to it! And if the 2nd was to end in farce no 1 would complain too much. That’s speedway! cant believe I agree with you on something!!! -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Danny Connor replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Exactly! And there are people who choose not too. And that’s fair enough. Each to their own but I just wish they would stop bleating on about it as if anybody cares. Wednesday could still be 2 very good speedway meetings and 6 points. Could also be a train wreck but such is life. Such is speedway. -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Danny Connor replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole didn't agree it did they? Didn't they just go ahead and do it regardless? its no good anyway as the riders would have to ride for their inferior 2nd league teams because of the tail wagging the dog rules wise. Bit of over reacting negativity wise though. guest wise etc this season all round has been much better. Its a good time to be a lynn fan. Im enjoying speedway more than i have in many years. Come onto the forum and its full of bs. Don't go! Simple! Lots of people clearly are enjoying it because they keep turning up each week and I'm pretty sure your not missed if you don't! I really don't get the over self importance? Its a rubbish situation but lets make the most we can out of it. At least we know in advance so we can make our choices on attending with that in mind. -
Adding a 1 week extension onto the cut-off date'
Danny Connor replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Gerhard engine was a great idea. Longer lasting engines that were competitive. Its not worked out and thats a crying shame. He didn't nearly close Belle Vue. Poor finances did Ring fencing riders who could have been jobless in fact didn't richie worrall miss out to justin sedgeman. bet worrall wished he wasn't ring fenced your 10% cut thing i have no clue about but he saved that club from dying at the time thanks to a crooked promoter. some people are paid well to settle debts no idea about the bond thing, probably hearsay forum gossip. Im not defending him. i don't care really He wanted monday and thursdays FRN and that would have been ideal for rider availability, Blame redcar ipswich and sheffield for pissing on that. Now we lack danish league rider availability and thats the main reason for the fixture problem because people only want to ride with full teams and you can't blame them for that. Rye house promotion lost heart and gave up pumping the finances in. Live within your means. Don't start big ideas and ruin something that people care about by not sticking with them Belle vue opening night fiasco was a very dark day for the sport. I agree he dealt with that badly. Humans fail! Im a lynn fan and i don't feel he has done anything other than try his best. actually when you talk to most lynn fans at the stadium they are positive about him most of the time. we had a wagstaff, we have seen other teams with a posstlethwait, Colin Horton, hemsley etc. he may have his flaws but he is a stable guy to have at the club. this is a small town. and we are 1 of the 7 top speedway teams in the country. Some disgruntled people will post on here about their own club but half of them aren't regulars and not everybody with an opinion is right! Im not saying he made the right choice all the time. But the reason i went through the things you said step by step (and you did miss the holder/batchelor situation/Coventry closing/the losing of the sky deal and the saving followed by asset stripping of bust premier league mildenhall 8/9 years back (all arguable too 1 way or another)) was because who ever was in charge wouldn't have got all of these things right either and you would probably be anti them too! Nobody likes Authority! But i think he gets the rough end of the stick too often -
Somerset vs Belle Vue Premiership 15/08/18
Danny Connor replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I guess 1is a gaters paradise and the other is a good racing track!!!! Such a waste of a track at Leicester . Didn’t ermolenko design it? Crime against speedway if so. All that room for a speedway track and they designed that!!!!! -

Nothing new there. The guy actually wants an independant body in control. He has said he is only going to do 3 years so if I’m correct this agm is his last. I bet he can’t wait to get out. It’s like world politics. Everybody will grow to hate the man in charge
