  1. I like this. I love 7 v 7 speedway, I love the team thing and the 3 leagues. This format is secondary to the night out itself. If everything about that night frustrates you then it’s all lost on the new people. If the night is fun then people can overlook some of the other stuff that irks us.
  2. The point was whatever they do many will disapprove. I get your point about the guys who run it but without those promoters we wouldn’t have a sport. We all have ideals. But when many of our ideals are different. And when you look across the forum they are. When people then say listen to the fans it’s daft because we all contradict each other. there are things many of us agree with. Slick neat presentation with plenty of information, things to keep us occupied, less tractor time, better tannoys, transponders and consistent decisions from refs and most importantly better promotion of the sport but these aren’t major overhauls everything else though the fans disagree on.
  3. Us the public all want something different. Some 2 leagues some 3, double ups and non double ups, frn and ride when you want. What hope do they have really. Whatever they do they will be lambasted. Listen to the fans. The fans are as divided as they are on brexit. Presentation and race night experience then yes listen to us but in terms of structure and team building plans then they are the ones putting their money’s whete their mouths are for now. Until there is a independant governance for us to lynch because we alllike to have a moan.
  4. If betting draws in the punters and earns money why not. If a rider is found to be bent then they can face the punishment like the cricketers do. If something looks fishy suspend betting. I think it’s a great idea and may allow admission prices to fall too if it works out. A day at the speedway could be a more pc version of a day at the dogs
  5. I’d have thj . I thought he was great entertainment at lynn. Came across very well in interviews too. I’d have him back in a beat. Bargain average too
  6. £1 per race, free race card. I liked Tatum idea about the interaction app. Maybe make a few prizes available on the night for that each meeting. 1st is a vip pass for 2 then the next 3 will get a free ticket. Make it a big part of the night . Lynn have done a lot this year in terms of inclusion. Kids club, riders interacting with fans, conferences post meeting. Stupid things like hold ups, tannoys playing up, riders moaning about conditions, relentless track grading, and a hum of negativity about the product in general is all things that put people off. Rain offs too so track covers?, im not buying into this 1 league thing. There will bee too many teams in the bottom half and their crowds will all be hit. I’d keep the 3 tier, weaken the middle tier with the draft (unprotected so averages aren’t botched) and strengthen the top league, 2 brits minimum per team. Minimum ave back to 3. And slightly weaken the nl. Not too much. But it isn’t what Plymouth Birmingham and Eastbourne want it to be. If they want a pro league then step up. In an ideal world centralise all clubs so they are run as franchises to a well established independently run system where all 3 leagues will be ran under 1 package. With stepping stones for uk riders to progress. Light shows and fireworks, entertainers in track grades, ear pieces where you can hear analysis and interviews in between heats, competition apps, cheap try out days. Invest in trying to gain a media presence so it all actually matters.
  7. I've noticed amongst fans on here that everybody has differing opinions on structure etc. what ever happens there will be a very vocal majority who disagree. its almost as polarised as brexit. i don't see an answer. i have my own view but others have it and have been argued against. same with each other opinion too. every answer will have negatives. its sad to think about really so to say they don't listen to the fans is a very broad statement.
  8. If it saves the club from dying then why not. I’d love to have Ipswich and Peterborough both in the top league battling it out with us, Leicester too. That’s half the league as rivals
  9. So the farce of a team riding home on a weekend vs rr and guests. It’s a farce if that happens and fixed race nights solved that to a large extent. Mon/wed/thu or a lower level should be the only options. If not we get the ridiculous situation that was 2017. Record guest numbers. this is the flaw of 1 league. Bigger teams signing big riders but not being able to use them due to continental clashes. We will have no rights on overseas riders now anyway. If a foreign rider is down to ride for a club on their frn then there isn’t any way around it. I hope belle vue persivere and find a way on the frn as it would be a shame for them to drop down.
  10. everybody wants something different amongst fans and promoters. Riders want double ups, probably 1/2 2nd tier promoters want that too. Ill just be glad with what ever they come up with really. As long as there is a fixed race nights between leagues if there is still double ups, to limit fixture clashes to avoid the farce of 2017 happening again (if there is 2 senior leagues) . . Unless people have short memories and it’s a free for all again. Then we may as well all give up
  11. The same people who want to unfix the race nights will be moaning about the number of guests due to continental commitments. The uk won’t have priority. It will be like 2017. 1 season of fixed race nights isn’t really a gage. If at all possible stick with it for another year or so and people will start to know speedway is Monday and Wednesday. If you keep changing things just because it’s not working for 1 or 2 teams then we will carry on wateringdown and it will all get farcical again with the number of guests. It will suck. if Leicester hadn’t lost vaculik early on their crowds would have been decent with a successful team but that’s sport and somebody has to finish last and their crowds will fall to hardcore. 1 pawlicki/Woffinden/lindgren masters morris Thorsell covatti m riss/grieves? kemp/Brennan if this is anywhere near fitting. As an outsider this to me would be a team I’d take notice of if they came to my track
  12. Holder Kurtz holder Harris Drabik/big name signing, kemp Jacobsen? What’s that add to? 44ish under depending on drabik
  13. I like the individuality. Bibs is enough in my oppinion. Love Erik Riss with his white ones. So easily recognisable. There are FORS and against.
  14. Lambert, Riss, Jorgensen, k Andersen, toft, kemp, (iversen/Pedersen/pawlicki/Musielak if high limit.)
  15. I’d have rode in the Tomasz Gollob meeting. The guy at his best was breathtaking. He is as iconic as any of the names in history. The guy was so skilful on a bike. Barry Briggs and terry Betts were at lynn 1 day and randomly walking around the stadium talking to fans as they did, and Barry spoke to me of his admiration of Gollob and how in his mind he’s one of the greats. This wasn’t just any riders benefit meeting. It was an icons. why are we talking of building to championship level averages again. There is no daft draft system to make that necessary, infact the championship should be built to the premiership converted averages and then halved so the conversion rate is 50% like it was in the early 2000s pl build to 45 (averages including Bonus points) cl built to 22.5. That would lessen the double ups because no rider with a pl average over 6 would be worth considering there would also be more emphasis on signing a good nl rider to come in on a 1.00 average. It sounds complicated but it’s really not and organically the system would return to pl and cl averages after a season. you would end up with affordable teams in the cl. And any that want the big riders would need to step up
  16. If there is a huge change I.e 1 diluted league then why would he. If it’s the current 3 league structure I see it more likely for the likes of him iversen Doyle and the odd other (not many) wanting to ride over here. If he gets too busy drop Denmark 1st, Germany 2nd. They are the weakest leagues. Then he will have 3 leagues plus individuals. Putting Denmark and Germany before Britain is a bit far. . . For now
  17. It’s a bit like the SON really isn’t it. Yeah we didn’t win. We knew the rules but all 5 of our team members gave it a bloody good go. Poole are a decent team with no token 2 point riders. Solid right through and with a 5 regular man team we beat them by 12. With toft and Niels that would have been massive. fluke is a harsh word but poole got really lucky. The toft incident cost us big. It was in the rules to be able to use Morris for lynn for the 2nd leg. As farcical as it would have been it would have been within the rules at the time. But those rules were changed and we were the ones to lose out there. But had we had toft and Niels we would have been celebrating. But sadly we have won nothing. But at least our future is bright. Poole could end up with an average existance from this point on!
  18. Look at the names though Teresa . It’s awesome to have a team with riders we love. There is no mentions of riders from elsewhere other than Ellis. I’d have all 7 plus Kerr and Kasper too.
  19. Gutted. If toft is out and with no iversen. I still have faith but it’s a long shot. I can’t believe Ellis is a better option than rr either.
  20. Lambert and iversen for me. Then Riss and Jorgensen . Then what fits
  21. Deserved call up in my opinion. Maybe Drabik for zagar although I’m a fan of zagar. But the right names pretty much have been called up as wild cards. id have Pedersen, Drabik, lambert, j holder and Smektala as the backup riders. Im glad madsen is in though. Grand Prix is about best riders in the world
  22. I know it’s swindon fans on a wind up but it’s worked! It’s wound me up! That night was brutal. Presenter silence too as the presenter quit. So we headed towards the pits to try and work out what was going on. Didn’t batchelor sulk and almost go home this season until talked out of it at Swindon? The arm injury was a bloody convenience that night. Him and his arrogant rock star premadona friend lost half a seasons earnings because of it and good job. After that we had a weak team but the hardcore fans that were turning up seemed happy they were gone. Imagine having that. The rider that was signed as the beginning of something special turned into the top rider you were just happy to see the back of. It put more responsibility on lambert and I think he grew with that. Loving this years team. It’s a shame speedway is speedway and we will have to lose a few of them.
  23. niels stuck around until home time. Batch left the track before the meeting was over. Bit different. Maybe 1 has a better character than the other too. Holders our main rival anyway. Batchelor was just his b*tch. Hope you get the pair of them riding for you next season though! Imagine the toys being thrown out of the pram it it was around this years track. . . . Then you would understand why the pair of them are so unpopular here.
  24. troy is a pantomime villain at lynn. You say things in the press like he did early season then the fuse is lit. Only takes a 50/50 to make things kick off. It’s not hooliganism really. it’s passion and that’s what speedway in this country lacks. I see it as firstbend bunching but 50% of it was a trouble maker who decided to walk out on us with his rock star friend. Ruined our 2017 season. So shouting abuse is fair game. We are allowed to have villain riders. Made last nights meeting worth it
