Leicester Lions V Kings Lynn Stars 24 Jul 2017
waytogo28 replied to Robbobee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bald Bloke wrote " I think most of the Lynn fans are miffed with Holder and Batch, and the fact that they are being kept in the dark but the Lynn promotion. And i'm one of them"/ And I am another one. How many more disaffected fans of the Stars are out there now ( and won't return ) is THE problem Buster has brought on himself ( as the owner ) and the "Promotion" by their management style and lack of communication / empathy with supporters. It's no good saying fans should " Stand by their club whatever" the world has moved on for many people and VFM in return for your financial support also counts for a lot. -
He must go as his attitude stinks. Not only to regain sanity at the club but to regain some smidgin of credibility among fans and show the management want to put put the fans first. Batchelor is still capable of riding to a high standard - when he wants to and when he feels like it. Hence he was poor at GP level. A good example of a "mood" rider.
-
What opportunity do we have to talk to him face to face? I am sure that a goodly few on here would love to attend a meeting offering up feedback - not complaints. It's no good Buster having such a meeting if he is going too blow up at fans trying to be constructive. It needs a dialogue. We want to help turn this very poor situation around ,if it is possible. Without information we can only speculate.

Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
waytogo28 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It hardly matters because there is not one of them ( nor collectively ) that can turn around the fortunes of speedway in respect of attracting new fans. Buster thought he could and he might say that he has only just started on his Master Plan. They collectively wasted the Sky TV income over fifteen years by paying the top riders top money and that still didn't work. Back to basics with semi pro might work with weekly speedway as per years ago. But the fare on offer now is being rejected again. Doubling up and hanging on to riders whose minds are elsewhere, is making things worse. It can hardly get any worse without viable attendances ( other than to cease entirely ). -
Chris Holder ! :- Friend Or Foe
waytogo28 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Of course not. At £1,000 a point - having a go is worth a try in Poland. With the money "in the bag" at KL with his guaranteed match fee it's a very different story. Pity his negative attitude affected other, younger riders enough for them to even consider not riding. His statement - if we get one - will be worth reading. -

waytogo28 replied to Robbobee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If Buster is "seething" as reported elsewhere he should channel his anger into building bridges with the fans by communicating simply, clearly and honestly with them. I don't think it can get any worse except for the pulling of the plug. -
Janowski Or Doyle For 2017 World Champion,
waytogo28 replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Doyle for me because he has THAT hunger. Denied last year by injury. I feel his time is here. Dudek is more of a threat than Magic because although he is yet to get a result in a final I believe that he will. Very exciting though, even to a jaded old supporter like myself. -
100% agreement as I feel as aggrieved as FD. Perhaps more so as I will not be going to the next match and genuinely may not bother going again to live speedway in the stadium at KL. Some good action on TV and that will give me enough of a fix as I am one of those who believes that modern broadcasts are better or as good as being there.( much less inconvenience than on the terraces ). Full and frank statement required by me before I will go again. I think a number of fans not on here may well do the same. Buster and the BSPA love that phrase "it's behind us now, let's move on" . Attendances over the last 10 -15 years prove that it is not the case and it is not enough to prevent fans from finally giving up on the sport. Disillusioned departing fans and those who have passed away to the Great Track in the Sky ( or wherever it is ) means speedway fans are becoming extinct in the UK. If it is the last few month of speedway at KL then the promotion will know the reasons why ( themselves and how they run things at the moment - the last two years or so ). Bringing about a JC & KC re-union can only be done by themselves and we have no idea if it is welcomed by KC. I don't think JC can wave a magic wand and get it all back together in a flash. The problems of speedway are much deeper than one man's acknowledged ability, which would help KLS. I think things will stagger on in general at KL and in the UK for about another three to five years before inevitable huge changes to the sport take place.
-
I think the BSPA chose Buster as Chairman and gave him his head to push his ideas because they had no other "determined " leader among them. Or No-one who had any oomph left. Buster's total focus on being the saviour of speedway at the helm of the BSPA is the main reason why KL has fallen into it's current poor state. Huge management re-organisation needed at the club OR a simple one? If Buster was able to concentrate fully on the Stars it could still be all retrieved. Is Rob Lyon still interested or not? I always believed that he was an influential figure at the club but recent events prove that he certainly is not now. And yes, Lambert and Huckenbeck were easily led by Holder and Batchelor whose attitude the club no longer needs ( even if their points would be missed ). Lambert might stay if the problems were resolved but don't count on it. Buster has still been doing the track but why has he got that part of things so wrong?
-
Are tickets much cheaper for the Sunday meeting?
-
Must go in my eyes. I am very unlikely to return to watch the Stars at the AFA unless the the club owner and promoters are prepared to offer up something more than " it's behind us now ". Let's hope there are not many more who feel like me. Some kind of overall explanation is due to fans. And clarity on the active role of Rob Lyon.
-
INCOGNITO said of Woffy " Some might say the usual Rubbish about him, but to want to take all this on and run it as a successful business and develop the riders to be the best they can be shows he wants to ride for Team GB and has a passion to do so but under the current set up and the way it's run isn't something that he wants or needs to be a part of" Woofinden's efforts amount to much more than the BSPA seem to have in mind for the future of Team GB. It hardly matters that he is still riding and wants a chance to fully develop the team The sport should his arm off and give him all the support it can muster. I can't see the Rosco & BSPA joint effort achieving any more than they have - certainly not abroad.
-
Silence speaks volumes. Eager to get out? Can't wait for his statement. When you earn £20,000 per match in Poland you don't need KL or any UK club if the visa is in the bag.
-
Lyon can't be to blame are can he? He may have been there in body ( someone said he was ) but not in spirit. Will he make a statement after Cardiff just like Holder? He is a master at carpet sweeping ( under the carpet ).

Chris Holder ! :- Friend Or Foe
waytogo28 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
And THAT is what drives away more and more fans. Any rule can be adapted to suit the situation of the moment with no thought for what the future impact of decisions is going to be. On things like the sport's credibility. If anything Alice like ( curious and curiouser ) happens over Chris Holder it will be another nail in the coffin of speedway. And Woffy for the playoffs too - on that basis that his tattoos now cover 50% of his body. -
Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
waytogo28 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes he has proven himself to be not a great custodian of the sport at KL for whatever reasons. Those reasons that only he knows and is never likely to reveal. Perhaps a rating overall of 60%? -

waytogo28 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is no wonder that his emotions are here there and everywhere, I agree with and accept that. But to race speedway safely you have to get beyond those problems ( put them to one side ) at least for the duration of a meeting. It would seem likely that those problems and how they were still pressing on him, pushed to one side his self control. In which case , like you I would welcome him back - not quite with open arms but at least calmly with his personal guarantee that such a thing will never arise again. Nor will he incite others because I am still unsure as to how much "damage" was done to the younger riders who might still feel that Holder had point. Hopefully his ban should have made it very clear to them ( however much like him him personally ) that he was very out of order. With a bit more nous as Trees suggested he could have had an EF or ridden round at the back racing-ish. His OTT actions were clearly designed to get the meeting called off and that is what still concerns me. If he is entirely unrepentant in his statement I think he should not expect to return to race in the UK. -
Fans may have shouted at GC solely because of their frustration at not being able to talk sensibly with members of the management ( except in the end of match "conference" - which not all can attend or feel that their point is taken note of in ). Of course no one should abuse anyone, in any role at the club, but why not have a two way channel of communication which fans can feel that their point of view and ideas are at least being considered . Some simple ideas that would cost very little but would bring about better fan enjoyment have long been ignored e.g. the sound in the main stand where the music is too loud and commentary / interviews far too faint. It may not be about new P.A. equipment but about tweaking and using effectively what is there. Hardly matters what GC or anyone says if you can't hear them. Caring the best way possible for the paying customer ( within reason ) must be on the club agenda somewhere?

I hope that Cook can show that the World Cup really was "bad day at work" albeit on the day we needed a world class show from him . Give us your dazzling most exciting side Craig! Woofy to reach the Final and hopefully win it. Keep another World title in sight and be the Best Brit Ever ( on track ).

Chris Holder Average Farce At Kings Lynn
waytogo28 replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
All we ask of any rider is to Give It A Go - those who can't gate, lose out on slick tracks and those who can't handle grip, score low on tracks like last weeks Stars V Pirates. That what makes averages. Throttle control has gone out of style but there are few places or maybe only one ( the NSS really ) where you can do that. Riders have to race in the UK in a variety of shapes and track conditions. That is said to be why Hancock etc advise P.P. to join Leicester. -
King's Lynn V Rye House 19/07/17
waytogo28 replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Simply perfect - Bustersway or No Way at all. He has a stranglehold on the direction of speedway. For Good or No Good. Pop back in 2022 never mind the 2028 centenary to see what happened. Did it burst back into life with 5,000 everywhere or fade limply away with a couple of hundred 70 and 80 year olds attending? -
Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
waytogo28 replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Buster is like marmite - Love him ( and his leadership style ) or Loathe him and his ideas for the future of speedway. He will remain there for a few years yet ( unless he decides otherwise ) and speedway as a whole will have no choice but to live with the results of his efforts. At least he is not an " everything is OK " fence sitter ,as it had been for the previous fifteen years or so. -
Chris Holder ! :- Friend Or Foe
waytogo28 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
None of the he said, he didn't say matters because Holder has a 28 day ban and now the Rye House fixture has been postponed he has missed one less KL match. He won't be sacked and fans will have the choice of watching him or not, by voting with their feet. That is how it should be. Buster is content with that as a way of running his speedway business. The end result of that is yet to be seen. -
I don't think anyone hates anyone from either side. As usual in life and on here there are two or three FOR Buster and five or six Against him. Polarised views. What does matter is, if last week and this has provoked enough bad feeling on the terraces to lower the crowd yet again for future matches. How dangerous to speedway viability ( not the stadium as it has other profitable uses ) is 100 or 200 off the crowd level on a regular basis? No fans of speedway or of the Stars wants to see the club close but how it is run is very important. And how Buster as Chairman is leading the BSPA is very important to the sport.

It did rain but there was nothing until I went to bed at 11 pm and I am close to the track. If all promotions waited for a perfect forecast there would be no fixtures anywhere in the country. It is the degree of risk and yesterday it was less than 10% chance of rain and that was for late evening or overnight as it turned out. Tactical postponement - poor decision as in future some will say why bother going?
