  1. I just hope that neither Craig nor his camp try to Big Up his 2018 GP place. I wish him all the best but hope that he just gets on with it and we can decide for ourselves by his results, as to how well he can do at the very top level of speedway.
  2. Judging by how much riders are now said to be paid, I should think that the fuel cost is insignificant and probably no rider is urgently seeking such minimal sponsorship. I was under the impression that it was supplied centrally in the pits?
  3. I , along with many others have tried for a few years now, to offer my feedback as an attending fan on how things could be made better from the fan's point of view ( more crisply run meetings etc ) and never even received an acknowledgement ( even by email! ). Those "in power" at KLS ( and the BSPA ) do not want to hear the opinion of fans ( or if they do they want to disregard it as a "what do they know" voice ). Now it's the season of "Support it or Lose it! calls by some promoters ( Newcastle etc). They cannot seem to understand that what they are selling is less and less what many supporters want to buy. I am very unlikely to return to watch live in the stadium at Saddlebow Rd. in 2018, for the first time since it started there and it is not because of any infirmity! It is because of disillusionment with how the sport is run in the UK. Yes I want to "give Brundle a chance" but IF I do it's the very last time I do and only because of a deep affection for times gone by watching The Stars in Norwich and King's Lynn.

  5. IF ONLY - Lovely thought but as ever speedway will never get it's house in order - at any level. No consideration for the paying supporters and that is why , even in Poland speedway will fade away and cease to be. Bringing in simple effective measures seems to be the last thing on the minds of the sport's "leaders" or of making the show even more crisply presented and attractive to new fans. They can't see the wood for the trees.
  6. Abd we will never know if Brundle is to be a positive, integral part of re-building KLS or if he will be a name on the promoter's register. Fingers crossed that it is to be the former and that he can see the need for the fan's to be won over yet again. If Buster cannot see that, then the future for speedway at the AFA is bleak. And they need to get on with things and not wait until February 2018 before doing their best to restore supporter confidence. I too am still waiting to hear about rain off refunds. Somebody must still work there?
  7. So it is the dream scenario, or have I got it wrong Leicester V Sheffield? Both of whom will be in the Premiership next year as seems very, very likely. Perhaps it is a kind of end of season Inter League Challenge?
  8. The sport cannot afford to lose Swindon I agree wholeheartedly. It just appears from the outside that it's something very likely to happen and sooner rather than later. Do we really expect a minority motorsports facility to continue to be allowed to run in such close proximity, as now exists? At Peterborough things continue because so many other sports and events are run there. And the housing is quite some distance away. At a number of ex- speedway locations it has proved to be impossible ( or unacceptable ) to continue. There seems likely to be only one loser. It could all so easily be confirmed that a new stadium will be put together ( and when ) on the site, but the silence is deafening.
  9. On the You Tube link I was watching Robert gated with the others on only one attempt out of five. On two of those he passed other riders but could not hold the places he had gained. He didn't look underpowered. I still feel that with the right help on starting and lap one tactics he could become world class. Taking things slowly but changing very little will not, I fear, do the trick.
  10. Thank you, it is good to put a stop to all Fake News and I was referring to several earlier assertions re your close links to Buster Chapman. As he is not currently a Promoter but a club owner, can we clear that up as well ,that you do not know him closely? Sadly I can't get to the Swindon PO leg of the Final but will watch it on TV. Hence I can't take up your offer of having coffee together there.
  11. Wether Robert Lambert stays or leave the Stars next year he does need to make some serious changes to his starting technique and his 1st and 2nd bend positioning. He rode well for little reward and his typical tigerish Ruthless style gave him few returns. He has time to work on his existing flaws but must do so if he is to step up to be world class.
  12. Halifaxtiger wrote " We simply have to have someone who is not linked to any club, has a very sound grasp of the rules and can follow and make precedent. Chances of the BSPA allowing that to happen are absolutely zero, because they want the opportunity to cheat, manipulate and do things 'in the interests of the sport'." And that phrase " in the interests of the sport " will remain as a catch all way of overcoming every anomaly that shows up. Even the most corrupt ones and is one reason why the sport will not get out of it's present decline.
  13. Probably so, Is it only at Glasgow that fried mars bars will be on the menu? Are they served as a starter or a dessert?
  14. Agree 100% but the riders are paid at least double most get here and thus much more motivated . £500 per point it is said. It was great racing and drama too but it looks as if paying at that rate has broken several clubs. However they seem to have had reasonable crowds even if that was not quite enough.
  15. In your capacity as? Perhaps closely related to a prominent promoter? Or so the story goes. So what exactly does this mean/ It's beyond cryptic. Could you be more explicit please.
  16. Rare for me. not proofreading a post prior to posting but I was hoping to find out what the pay rate was on offer for the Premier League Riders Championship ( no doubt shortly to be re-named anyway and could easily be the PLR Chanptioship ).
  17. Another one bites the dust sadly. And before much longer. Will there even be a Robins side at the Abbey in 2018?
  18. But how lucky we were to have been able to see it at all. If you can't get there it was entertaining. if not perfect. We could so easily go back to no UK speedway on TV. Some might cheer at that but for others it's big loss,
  19. If it was for £10 point and £10 a start i am surprised any rider does it, except for fun. What was the pay rate for the Premier league Chanptionship?
  20. It looks as if this is something that runs in the family?
  21. Act 11 of the BSPA "Ban Em Farce ( Or Not ) " but this one, for some reason is much easier and can be dealt with much more swiftly. Is any action being taken on Jack Holder - Ged Rathbone and Craig Cook following earlier incidents. Or can it just be "put behind us"?
  22. Of course riders do run into form ( and out of it ) but he will need a big turn around of form to have much impact. But he is available and often that counts highly when selection is being mulled over.
  23. Sounds like BSPA logic to me. If it's in the rule book, then so it must be ( unless someone overlooks it at the wrong moment ).
