Only one person posted that they were expecting some news as the AGM got going, all the others - including myself voiced our hopes in anticipation of hearing genuinely positive things as soon as possible. Of course we knew we had to wait until near the end of the weekend ( for a leak ) or just after, but we have been waiting for at least 5 years for positive outcomes for AGMs over the years. Only a Promoter would say the fan's are delusional in any way or is it a trend developing from Somerset?

mikebv wrote " I think it would be far better to do 'Mini Season Tickets' whereby you purchase say the next five matches for the price of four" Fabulous idea but it would take an Almighty Rush of Blood to the Head of those in Tenerife, for it to catch on! Somebody give me Buster or Godfrey's text number and I will pass it on as constructive proposal from Lord Sugar ( because if they thought isa s speedway fan it would not make the agenda - even under the Agenda heading of " Adding VFM to Fan's Attending Meetings" ).

Euthanasia to empty the terraces of the boring old farts? Will the Exiting New Era for 2018 ( filled with terrific on track close racing & passing ) really then bring in hordes of 18 - 30's who can Do It Their Way? No problem then just give all fans over 40 years old a live feed to their computer or TvV for £5 a match . I will happily walk away with that and in fact "snap their hand off". -
They can't afford not to. Its that simple. Radical change to the value for money aspect of the exciting on track product must be brought into UK speedway. I make no apologies for repeating this here. I do tend to post mostly negatively slanted posts on this thread, some I see as tongue in cheek humorous ways of dealing with the great disappointment of seeing what the happened to UK speedway since , say the turn of the century. The way that the BSPA have presided over the overall decline of UK speedway in the last 20 years leads me to believe that the sport I have followed since the early 1950's and Ultra seriously since Ove Fundin joined Norwich. Of course all things change and evolve but the last 20 years ( with even more money coming in via the Sky TV deal as well as reasonable crowds ) those at the BSPA who have been taking critical core decisions have entirely disregarded the ideas of terrace fans ( not just posters on here ) by "doing it their way". Anyone taking a very good look at the sport from an external perspective would see it is close to being in terminal decline. Input from fans is either ignored or derided and never seen as feedback. Instead of actively looking for it and implementing the best and least expensive parts of that feedback it seems that a Totally Deaf Ear is turned to the view of the customer. So they walk away or choose their meetings and gradually can't be bothered. Even the die hard following is dying ( many literally ). For me, my black humour lets me hugely enjoy any truly effective positive changes that the AGM makes to improve UK speedway by expecting very little as history has taught me to do. Every fan attending a UK speedway match should get a simple survey form within the first four matches of the season and then at the mid waypoint of a season and then in the last four matches. Priceless "consumer " feedback. But do the BSPA want such a thing?

We do share a lot of the same dreams! Is Buster aware of yours?

Not so much kill it. More like putting it to sleep, rather than letting it suffer , struggling along for a few more years.

What Would You Change In Speedway Next Season?

Buster had been pushing for a number years to Get things Done - His Way. Which he is now doing. History will be the judge as to whether his ideas were any better then the BSPA "leaders" before him. -
That is the best idea they might come up with because it will likely be a similar surface to the nostalgic 1960's shale at the Firs Stadium in Norwich. Ove , Ove ,Ove!!! Golden Helmet Wonderman. Proper handlebars and engines - now that could be a true retro revival

Make no difference whatsoever if it is another current promoter. Be no different to what's happening in Zimbabwe ( except no one would be murdered ) One Dictator for another who has no better ideas. External overlord, which they will never accept, is the only option if speedway is to survive in the UK as a professional sport. -
It has to be a Top Notch Gater if he's going to earn Loadsa Money around Leicester.
-
It's finding the MMM and sticking with it. Magical Motivation Moment rather than "yeah, this will do". It's very like the motivation or focus needed for a successful diet. You have to keep at it.

That is really good to know. I'm wetting myself in anticipation.

Ah well, Faith, Belief and Blind Adoration make a lot of people do a lot of different things on the planet.
-
Oxymoron that - Buster and Improvement Plan. Needs someone truly committed to it with lots of time and that's not Buster.

Cor Blimey! We saw precious little of that at KLS and the sight of Iversen doing his stuff for several years failed to nail sufficient feet to the Saddlebow Rd terraces and I don't believe it will on fixed nights. Nowhere enough will return unless the on track passing is hugely increased i.e. 50% of heats at least being a true racing spectacle. And with NO TV millions coming ( can't see BT investing much in domestic racing unless it included a gimmick handicap races? ) 4th to 1st wasn't SO rare 10 years ago. But with modern bikes on modern tracks ( with many modern riders attitude " Oh well, I can always make the gate in my next race" ) Bringing back the spectacle is likely to be Mission Impossible. -
Who Finishes Where 2018

Interesting that very few posters give Cook much of a chance of the top eight! Unless he does make a cracking start in the first two or three GPs he probably will flounder. -

We don't have long to wait to hear of The Way Forward and I wonder what we will think of the BSPA's latest plan after we have had a season of it? Crystal Ball. Must be the Last Chance Saloon? -
CookieIpswich wrote " Credibility and integrity is what has to come from the AGM" Oh Yes and that has been promised from Rob Godfrey himself in the SS today - so it must be true! LOL We all "know" from the leaks so far that One Big League has been discounted and some teams will move up on fixed nights, but I too hope we don't have too many "missed planes" by Famous Star Riders and r/r popped in at the last minute. Or is that the name of a new medical condition only recently discovered ( this coming weekend )?

Sounds about right and with Pedersen leaving in mid series with injury and Chris Holder retiring in disillusionment with his form. -

IF Premier League promoters have decided to truly "splash the cash" to such an extent, in an attempt to rejuvenate UK speedway, then some will go to the wall in 2018. -
Sounds like a "dream team" - that is a dream. IF premier League promoters have decided to truly "splash the cash" to such an extent to rejuvenate UK speedway, then some will go to the wall in 2018.
