Should have been 42 - whichever way you want to make it add up accurately. With safeguards to stop later rule manipulators adding to their resources when some riders fail to "do the business".

I amy truly have missed something but did not teams declare that the were running or not at the AGM? Or were some given an extension ( not only Newcastle )? I feel that the 31st December has the a cut off date for so many practical reasons or any promotion. But I too hope that there is good news to cheer for local fans before Christmas - complete with Ho Ho Ho and George try much on the Naughty list.
-
I would think that team would more than hold it's own!

There are no expansionist plans for UK speedway because they have not as yet come up with a plan to cope with the contraction of the last decade or so. The have no ideas on how to replace disillusioned older fans who have walked away ( fed up with so much of it ) with younger fans who are unlikely to be any more patient, and anyway demand a better show and VFM for their cash.

Seems very much like the BSPA have now brushed it all under the carpet and Nice Mr Godfrey can get on with his influential position within the BSPA and continue making "carefully considered decisions".

Tactical Substitutes Question?

Grand Central wrote " Why the hell can't they just make stuff clear ?" I add why can't they understand that some of us feel it's all smoke and mirrors or that they at the BSPA want to hide things and bury them in confusion. Getting back the confidence of existing fans and making sure that new fans ( who we might attract ) don't feel as if they they are not sure of what's going on ( or how the hell are things run ) is vital, really vital. Please BSPA try harder to make things in UK speedway much more transparent and more easily understood by all - fans, sponsors, riders AND promoters. -
Shrinking speedway means, naturally a shrinking fanbase - yet again. More - same old, same old down the slippery slope and I bet they struggle to fit "all" those fixtures in!

I am teetotal it so has to the Pussy one for me ( if we are still allowed to make a choice personally and individually that is ).
-
"Guests Galore" i've seen that film before! Or was it Whisky Galore? Same kind of madness results ( when you have too much / many ).
-
So are the tracks in the UK - a great advantage to learn on for every would be top quality rider OR are they "small tight and never the same one day to the next"? Should all tracks worldwide be the same then ? i.e. 100 + tracks identical to the NSS?

So Post 17 in this thread is being negative? If Rob McC doesn't feel able to do this positive act, then maybe you could ( as you have the ear of some promoters ). I would happily do it myself but when I collected together several fans positive ideas for change at KLS three years ago and offered them as feedback, ( in response to the request in the programme ) there was not even an email reply from anyone at KLS, to simply say "Thanks" . And even when the same collected ideas were sent on to the then co-promoter and the Chair of the Supporters club . Still a Zero response. How can you then try to be positive when your offers have been unheard and presumably rejected? Hmmm. Bound get a cynical view of their interest in your opinion. The collected ideas were used in the SS along those of many others.

There is so rarely anything positive to talk up, that is the problem.

Oh My God! It's not a wind up! It really happened - our Glorious Leader ( so pleased to be appointed ) now has two seasons to Get It All Done. Sadly I have run out of patience, along with thousands of others. But it's a grand GP sport on TV Grommit!

Hurray this should double the number of fans attending UK speedway, if it's so in tune with modern "marketing". 25,000 newbies pouring into a stadium near you ( well just 1,000 per track but that will make everything in the garden rosy on a local basis ) How lucky we are that the BSPA leadership is so in touch with the real world of today.

Anything over 30.
-
Around 3.0 sounds the button someone will press to allow for his many injuries and long years out of the sport.
-
Please let this be a wind up? If it's true it's bye bye and ta ta time from me from the terraces. If that was an official statement it's Far Far beyond loss of credibility. It's more like Daaave in 2001. Who would be Hal in that case?

Who Finishes Where 2018

I hope that you are right as at his best Cook can be superb and be great to watch. Only he can crack the way that pressure seems to bear down on him. Making the top eight though seems very unlikely to me. -
Very like Roman Kanowski or even Thierry Hilare.
-
Spot on - either make the sport attractable, exciting and thrilling as above to go into the one diluted league with young new riders ( only racing against themselves ) - to give that total of riders required. Halfway house - as we have gotten year on year can only drive more people away.

Rob McCaffery wrote " I visit this forum because amongst all of the rubbish there are the occasional insights and genuine information but there are times when you have to push so much to the side to get to it it's sickening. " As you have contacts within and to the BSPA , cannot you - with others in a similar position - collect and collate the insights and genuine information together with the excellent ideas that are put forward as possible solutions to some of the worst ills and present them in a : Good News & Great Ideas Fan Feedback" folder to those on the BSPA. They can then be read by them ,"heard" by them and "considered" by them - without reading the venom and negativity ( sometimes put forward in a humorous way ).. As far as fan feedback goes, the feeling is that the BSPA do tend to "throw out the baby with the bathwater". If they do that ( and reject positive ideas which come out of long involvement and passion for the sport ) - then they cannot expect to avoid the flack can they?

Not only was I agreeing with you I was backing you up - not disagreeing in any way.

It's already Tuesday so there will definitely be a Rule Adjustment out very soon. allowing all sorts of riders to ride for all sorts of clubs, under a wide variety of circumstances.
-
As a new rider he could come in on a very low average and perhaps double it! And he doesn't ride in his home country does he?
