  1. Either the BSPA have brass faced cheek and want to pump up the value of Speedway GB to a broadcaster or in their dreams they see it has having fabulous commercial value. Either way it's not treating the broadcaster as being very intelligent. I should think there are deal makers at BT who could eat the BSPA for breakfast ( and that is just an intern ).
  2. Did Mr Russell invest all his commission in that shiny new stadium?
  3. Cor, good team and I wish I lived near enough to visit the NSS. Just have to enjoy it on TV... hopefully.
  4. The BSPA prefer the word "mysterious" which sounds much more exciting and marketable.
  5. And there lies the heart of the problem. Buster is either too busy, or set on everything always being done his way ( very arrogant if actually so ) and although he often asks for 'feedback'. it's paying lip service to the idea and anything that comes in is ignored. With no mega bucks TV deal likely the PPV could add significantly to the budget of many tracks AND let speedway UK genuinely enter the 21st Century. JC says he looked at it five years ago as a back up plan - but it has seemingly been left at the back of the shed to go rusty.
  6. I am only quoting the comments Rosco made in the Speedway Star " we won the league, but had a hefty loss - it wasn't a very profitable year ". I took that to mean they lost a considerable amount of money. Perhaps in Swindon "hefty" has another mean - £29.99? I am not stirring it re Swindon but concerned about the actual viability of UK speedway.
  7. And this no doubt exactly where we are at present. Led up the garden path yet again by the ineptitude of the BSPA.
  8. Not if the conversation can be confirmed in any way ( by a recording or a witness for example ) and If it is clear that Godfrey was speaking in his exalted Official Capacity. Fact and fantasy then all get mixed up. I suspect that IF there is case to be proven Godfrey will be punished by the SCB. And quite correctly too.
  9. I think that there may not be any "TV money " other than a small amount per match televised. Why would a broadcaster stump up a significant figure for a sport with such a tiny fanbase - even including the armchair fans?
  10. You would have to be glutton for punishment to use Konopka.
  11. One minute past midnight on 1st December is when you can push the button. Not long to wait now.
  12. Acting - if the allegation is correct - on Godfrey's "advice" from his on high BSPA position.
  13. Because as we all know - the UK speedway world revolves around the Pirates and MF shenanigans.
  14. Damn Good Ideas which I support and hope that the BSPA deign to consider. That is my situation exactly other than watching speedway live at King's Lynn and I have no transport and need to watch my expenditure on luxuries like speedway. When working I was three to four matches a week man based in Northampton and could reach a range of tracks easily. I am not sure I would pay £10 unless it had the review later option but between £5 and £10 for selected matches I felt were "juicy morsels" that might contain VFM worthwhile racing.
  15. I understood it was £1.5 million per season ( lees Mr Russell's commission ) shared between the top tier clubs. Was also told that it mostly went to the top riders wages ( to hold onto them for UK racing ) . Not much seems to have been invested.
  16. yahoho wrote " Could be wrong though, interesting topic for sure and would be crazy for it not to be looked into seriously and trialed at a few tracks if there is no TV coverage." Why not BSPA? Individual tracks? The BSPA keep harping on that they are now SO with it technologically. It deserves a decent trial as I believe that the number of away supporters ( or neutrals looking for a potentially good match ) would outweigh the possible "can't be bothered" locals ( who may be the wavering ones anyway ).
  17. As we enter the penultimate year ( 2018 ) of Busters Five Year masterplan to revive Speedway GB, he and or other KLS promoters have much to do at the AFA. Please be getting on with it.
  18. Yes, answers please from the new "transparent BSPA" on these and on the whole TV situation. More and more people just won't bother to " turn up as usual" next March - believe me those that can bothered to, are dwindling because of the closely guarded nature of how UK speedway is run.
  19. It's been my "prayer" for two or three years and if the even basic level of broadcast were adequate to enjoy what's going on I would be much, much more likely to pay for and enjoy "away" matches that I cannot any longer get to ( or afford to ). My interest and passion in exciting, close racing remains undiminished after more than 60 years.
  20. Is there a complete list of which promoters attended the AGM in person? Is it true that Rosco did not attend?
  21. With the surprising ( to me news ) that although Swindon had a good season on track ( or what is considered to be one ) and yet they had a financially loss making season. So did any tracks in any of the leagues, at least break even?
  22. Not enough £s in the world of speedway UK it seems and certainly not at Swindon. It was a great surprise that they had a successful year on track and still made a loss! So, did any track make a profit in 2017?
  23. Unlikely, because if you have a different opinion on anything that matters, yours will be discounted. Sign him on a very good per point deal and let him be happy with the money ( as I am sure he will. if it's at the Swedish pay level at least )
  24. Like it but I feel it would be more interesting with NO current GP riders in ( wether they ride in England or not ).
  25. Great signing if that is what really happens. But it is likely to bust the bank and I can't see Buster doing that with his own money. If a sponsor steps in it may be on. But wealthy sponsors are much rarer than fully satisfied fans nowadays. And they are rare enough. Needs a massive lottery win for Trees to pull it off.
