  1. It seems that long tractor heroics do relatively little anyway to improve the racing anywhere. So it must be about selling drinks and food. Driving people away to make a few extra quid now seems idiotic and short sighted. That seems to be the case at King's Lynn. Reducing crowd levels that way for almost no gain is pointless.
  2. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion about going or not going ( luckily we don't live in Russia or China and be told to go ). I looked at the updates and I am not blaming them, but if you read " from the gate" it very likely means no passing after the second bend. It's a whole package called sporting entertainment and I want a crisp well run match with a full team and certainly without excessive grading and extensive delays ( as there were no on track holdups ). We can't do anything about the weather other than dress appropriately for it. It is still not being run "for the fans" at KLS - but that is just my opinion ( which I am entitled to as are other to voice theirs that may be different).
  3. And that is the other reason I did not go. 2 or 3 out of 15 might be good close racing with some passing after the 2nd bend ( first time around )
  4. Thanks for telling it as it is webby. That is not moaning. I did't go on principle because of the missing Danish riders even though I missed a great performance by Robert. But other factors like the meeting dragging on and on don't appeal to me much either. As for the lack of information until 24 hours before the match - nothing has changed with the approach of KLS to keeping fans in the loop. With the return of Iversen much heralded I want to see him in the team. Of course congratulations are due to the overall team effort.
  5. Maybe off because it is too chilly for a May fixture and with the wind chill factor it's only 6c.
  6. It's an Open Meeting tonight isn't it? Some X Select against Y Select? Looks that way. Pity points are at stake or rather Cup progress.
  7. Yes that would likely re-invigorate my appetite for speedway. Sadly, it is likely to remain a dream. Unless of course the BSPA collectively or a clear thinking independent speedway co-ordinator was put in place to move towards that next season. If it remains FRN for Mon / Weds for the Premier League there will no longer be Danish riders in teams. And another loss of regular attending supporters falling away from the sport in the UK. It just seems so poor that it takes something to go really wrong in practice to illustrate that rules were never thought through clearly before implementation.
  8. 9999 and put the decimal point where you like! My bet is £99.99p I bet you won't get five 9s for the rights.
  9. It will be interesting to see how many speedway fans vote with their feet tonight and get on with other things in life. It won't be long before we are promised all sorts of changes in how things are run at KLS if we show how much we want speedway at Saddlebow Rd. I think a lot of people do, but not under Buster, who seems to have learnt very little and surrounded himself with yes persons.
  10. For once I do not need to add anything at all as your post is EXACTLY how I feel. Other than, sadly - the much vaunted "New Era" came to nothing. KLS seems determined to bring about it's own demise.
  11. That is Good News we can stop worrying about them being turned out of house and home. And forget all about the "turn out in your thousands / hundreds / dozens / handfuls or there will be no speedway in X" pleas!
  12. The FRN switch was designed to bring in more star riders and that has been a failure. Also it planned to cut down dramatically on guests and r/r - not yet done much of that I feel, But worst of all supporters were not canvassed as they should have been in the last couple of months of last season. And Hey Ho a lot of fans don't like the night they have been forced onto - no surprise there then. It's our money and our life choices. And look at a Monday night ( and on TV) at Belle Vue - less than 1,000 there ( at full price ) King's Lynn have suffered more than others ( it seems ) with the highest number of Danish riders and running on a Weds. If all of these promoters are successful businesspeople in the outside world why do come across as so inept when running speedway?
  13. Yes, sadly it is a different sport these days and that is the main reason for the loss of fans from years ago. Change is not always for the better as is shown in the case of UK speedway's "development".
  14. Easy Peasy win then because Buster will be on the tractor pulling a very wide rake and even allowed a rolling start from the middle of the back straight and can have 7 rides. All for the good of British speedway. Which rider would dare to try and pull a fast one over Buster ( or even a slow one ).
  15. Thank You Rayleigh. I need to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest that because I feel just the same.
  16. Just the same old, same old "we do it this way" from Buster who remains the Puppet Master. I expect it to be called off - far too much sunshine ( and that hasn't been used before by KLS ).
  17. No it was a century of so later that the BSPA urged the use of circular wheels in wooden frames and powered by only one oaf pushing ( weighing not more than two sacks of unmilled corn ). Mountees ( the name given to riders in the pre-motor era ) had to weigh at least a half a sack of milled corn ). The governing of these rules is why the BSPA was formed. After the internal combustion engine came into use, the oafs were found other roles within the BSPA. And that was the last rule that the BSPA agreed on.
  18. Is the price set by the staging track or the BSPA? There still seems to be some confusion. And do we know for certain what the BT match fee is?
  19. Club 18-30 would have been the obvious choice but they look like going extinct.
  20. The Brave New Era at KLS appears to have lasted for two home matches ( i.e. keeping fans in the loop and NOT as if we are on holiday at the Mushroom Farm ). I was under the impression that the new co-promoter was "hot" on such stuff such as keeping in touch with the fans. Is he still on the scene and if so what is his role within KLS?
  21. And that would be wonderful IF you can ever get them in the same team racing in a match at home. Seems unlikely this season. But fear not everything will be sorted out " for the good of the sport' at the next BSPA AGM.
  22. And if the crowd is down again ( as is likely ) the fans will be attacked for not wanting speedway in KL. It seems that the shining new promotion don't want it very much either.
