Well, did he know or didn't he? If Buster did know about the clashes for his Danish riders AND Lambert and still went ahead with the signings then he is the fool that his critics claim him to be. If he didn't know, why not? Speedway is such a masonic secret society ( except at the IOW of course ) that we will never know.

Nutshell. There you have it in a nutshell. The KLS "promotion" either 1 / 2 / 3 people have no idea of what promoting really is or means if their Family Ticket package is the best they can do. The coffee promotion idea is likely to be much more effective if they take it up! Very like W H Smith offers. None of these ideas will help in any way if they do not reach the non speedway public. -
The continuing decline of Speedway

That was a wonderful achievement, getting the council to build the NSS but the sport of speedway cannot regularly fill it under the operating rules imposed on it by the BSPA. What is the point of having 20 such stadiums dotted around the country if they can't be filled with speedway fans ( new or old ) for every match. It is the promoters collectively that need to be replaced as they have failed for 20 years to "promote" the sport. They sat back when the Sky money rolled in and thought that that solved all of speedway's problems. It is the BSPA who failed to evolve the sport in the right direction. The NSS is not a 50,000 seater it is a less than 5,000 seater and such stadiums are wasted on speedway unless they can be running matches on the day that fans will turn up. Let's hope that other sports can make the NSS a success as a multi sports facility because it seems that speedway can't. -

It sounds as if there is a Left Hand / Right Hand communication between BSI and the NSS over the SON. Nowadays people expect to find such info easily on the Ticket Selling website. It's hard enough to sell tickets for this event, it seems, without making it more difficult to decide to go or not. -
And we can't ride Premier League on Thursdays ( Swindon excepted ) because the Championship teams voted against that possibility? Why are these facts not easily found on the BSPA / GB Speedway ( not team ) website for the current season? Why is it all Dark Arts secrets with wild rumours allowed to bedevil the sport and prevent it looking credible?

Has anyone seen the job description of this person? Are they responsible for the website ( or just Twitter and Facebook ) or is the website still done by Pearson? There was a time when the KLS "in house admin team' were clearly listed and people were encouraged to contact them even meet them. I thought such a person might have a KLS Agony Aunt role and assist fans with their suggestions, ideas and concerns. Dream on it seems! Of course obviously that media person works for the whole stadium business umbrella so perhaps has little time for speedway matters. -

One of the reasons that less and less people do come through the turnstiles. The sport is seen as joke more and more. Thankfully not many people in the outside world know about speedway or the sound of the laughter would be like thunder. -

Not quite but nearly, depending on which day a ban starts. A ban given on Monday is more likely to commence on the Tuesday and therefore end on which day the next week. IF a ban was given on the Weds then CC could not ride in the SofN. As no official notice about the ban seems to be found it is hard to understand what is / has been / or will be going on. My question was - Has Craig Cook been banned for seven days? if so when does that end? -

No different to any of the other continentals KLS have tried. Might be good one day but we need them to score now, a few at home at least. -

And it's called customer service by companies who care about their customers and want them to return there to spend their cash. Does Buster really care about his speedway customers? What does this new full time media person do? How have they improved the service for KLS? -

This season and it's new era of efforts to involve the fans more has of course failed ( or not got started?) With a new full time media person in place one would have thought that things would improve, but NO. Even the team news came late to the website. You can only assume that it was all lip service during the winter and only more supplies of bullrubbish were acquired to keep the mushrooms happily in the dark. -
Whatever the reason the BSPA got it wrong again, another season is blighted by ill thought through ideas. I am genuinely beginning to believe that there is some way that promoters here will benefit from the death of fully professional speedway. Those who own their stadiums might somehow get automatic planning permission and be quids in? Or is it true that they are just a group of dimwits? I will have to go for the dimwits theory for now.

Rye House Vs Kings Lynn Stars Mon 28/ 05/2018
waytogo28 replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is the state of the Rye House stadium still a work in progress or is it now a "state of the art" facility by the new promotion? It doesn't appear to look any better than when it opened as a training track. I realise the "artworks" on the centre green area are designed to bring in another income stream. Someone posted that it was a decent crowd by recent standards. I hope that was fake news. -

And we all know that "new and exiting" means better. No doubt it will re-invigourate speedway across the world, especially in the UK, with a big increase in attendances. In their dreams! With the final in Poland we all know the result now. -
Splendid Polish match last night, great racing, passionate fans and a Good Show all round on a track worthy of the Speedway RACING tag. Thank you, And the Swedish match on video to watch tonight.

So, do we give up on luring newbies along to have a glimpse of what speedway racing has to offer? Watching it on TV might work if it's a good GP, but for example last night from Rye House is unlikely to tempt anyone to visit a stadium and pay full whack. What other schemes could we try? -

Regardless of the result it was a pretty poor spectacle. A very "uncool" image presented to the casual TV viewer. I made a serious effort to count the crowd and I could not get it above 400. It came across as a scruffy show all over. There was nothing there to seduce any newbies to get down to a track operating near them. Except perhaps that Robert Lambert and Scott Nicholls showed that they could pass another rider after coming out of the second bend first time around. -

Sadly the 15 heats themselves are very rarely all "exciting" or have have points of interest in them. And those 15 heats are wrapped up in virtually nothing. If we cannot improve the thrills on track and there is no consensus on the importance of running crisper meetings, the sport has little to offer new fans of any age. It's presented in a very tired way in the UK. -

There might well have been several of them except for, after setting up FRNs ( which was quoted as being one other bonus from FRNs ) the BSPA bought in the "one over the eight" rule. That completely destroyed the possibility of more GP riders joining UK teams. And of course the "paltry" few quid on offer here might have something to do with it. We are regularly told that UK riders must double up to maintain their level of income and lifestyle ( until they get a team spot in Poland ). -

I don't think they are "thick" as we all know he has a shoulder injury.. The point some of us are concerned about is that his commitment to UK racing seems weak as he chose to carry on riding with the injury in Poland ( for 4 X the rate of UK pay ) and then stops riding for two weeks. He is not really missing the SON because on his current form other Danish riders will likely do as well as him and they are poorly paid fixtures. Nothing wrong with dropping the lowest paid work but the club and him should be more open about it. This "window of opportunity" means he will not miss Polish fixtures which is very convenient for him. -

Sounds like a bidding war! So, which club will be the first to charge £25 ( inc. programme of course )? And likely be watched by 250 people.
