  1. From the moment Robert made his National League debut around Saddlebow Road he seemed destined for this. He was, as Webby says, majestic, seeing off the young guns of his own generation and going head to head in superb battling style with the British "veteran" riders. Thank you BT for a stunning broadcast which allowed me to almost "be there" ( as I can no longer attend in person ). That man Bewley is going to share the future with Robert and they will likely form the spearhead of the GB Speedway Team - how lucky we are to look forward to that exciting prospect. With Garrity, Cook and Woffinden WOW!
  2. More, Do Away with the "dinosaurs" posts. We will die before too long and that is another admission lost. Soylent Green time? Another poster said " I give it five years" ( from a Bowie song, I know he is a long ago singer already dead, but you might remember him ) I should live for five more years ( fingers crossed ) so I reckon I will see the Death of Speedway - as we know it. Sad, but all down to BSPA mis-management. Leaving all the 15 - 40 years old fans ( 200 per club ) which will hasten the end.
  3. No. I have used my own for several years to save money and allow me to go to more matches overall. I don't collect programmes and so they are useless and usually the info inside is on the club's website anyway.
  4. I agree with you completely. IF Rory Schlein IS a British citizen then he must be allowed to compete in qualifying rounds and finals. The question is, IS he now a British citizen or not? If it is just down to licensing then he should not be riding in it. Can someone tell us if Rory has taken out full British citizenship? Over to you Rory. Was Mark Loram British or Maltese? By the way Ove Fundin must be the best ever British rider because he too lived here for a long period of time. Ivan Mauger too I suppose, but I prefer Ove.
  5. Often do, especially those who ride for King's Lynn.
  6. So if you are born almost anywhere you could ride in the British Final? So could Jason Doyle enter the qualifying rounds? He has lived here for years. Does Rory Schlein have British citizenship or not? Does anyone know? NOT merely riding on an ACU licence.
  7. It could easily be changed by the BSPA to be " the highest scoring British born rider, not currently in the GP". Perhaps Buster wants Rory to get to The Cardiff GP? Ha Ha - no possibility of that!
  8. I do agree with that part. Armando and Torben should go. We will never know how much the SON lost.
  9. Woffy could not have given more to his country and his sport. I salute him and his efforts at team riding with his "right up there" partner Robert Lambert, the best young rider on show by a long way. Craig Cook proved what a True Brit and a Team Man he is with his comments on the podium,
  10. That was very much the case. IF they do tweak the scoring system in the future, so be it . But Russia were worthy champions under the existing system - and a stronger pair,
  11. Without the support of those Kind, Generous Well Endowed sponsors, ends would never have been met. No profits have been there for a long time.
  12. And we are about to see that happen with Poland having the mother and father of all comebacks, to claim Gold.
  13. Oh Yes! and that 3rd place to win, will likely net them a Magnificent Form Behind Victory to prove that they still rule the speedway world in two man, four man or seven man speedway. When the Final is in Poland, as it should be because they can make it a financial success there. And when they have even more than three GP's in Poland they will have another World Champion.
  14. It's Pan Gone the Down as the press release might say if put out by the BSPA, FIM or any theoretically responsible body
  15. You mean he wasn't last night! How can he call himself a patriot? Whichever underpants he wore last night, were the right ones even if they were from Poole ( an old Xmas present no doubt ) But if we do win the Gold Medal ( or indeed one of any colour ) I do think he should show us which ones proved up to the job!
  16. "from a staffed desk" is the preferred PC option ( or even "from the desk by the ticket office" is OK -as it leaves the option for the staff to be of any or no gender )
  17. Woffy. Woffy. Woffy !!! That is all you can say ( or shout out LOUD).
  18. The best I have seen him ride, truly world class. Other than that GP win of course. Well done Smoli!
  19. Because, so we were told, they only sold Two Day tickets and if you live a few hours away and can watch it on TV, why would you add to the expense by staying over. It will be full tomorrow I feel sure.
  20. So the winning trio will be hailed as World Pairs Champions 2018 or Speedway of Nations 2018 Champions? If the former, does the "reserve" get a medal saying World Pairs Team Reserve 2018?
  21. Thank you, that seems reasonable if they can make it work financially in Poland. I will enjoy it on BT. I just wanted to know the reason and that is as good as any and is hopefully part of the transparency in speedway. Especially IF we see some real team riding.
