  1. Don't forget decisions taken for the "good of the sport". Anything goes. I get it now, they have set their team but want to keep us all in suspense ( to generate higher ticket sales ).
  2. Nobody else does it seems - far too early for the media team from KLS to spring into action. I think it's going to be that group from down south V this group from Norfolk, Cambs and Denmark. There doesn't seem to be much interest anyway and it looks like the bulk of regulars will watch the England match from the comfort of their homes.
  3. We'll just have to dream on until the next Big Decision Making Conference takes place and try to hope that the Promoters all take and wear their Thinking Caps. They certainly didn't pack them last time. They won't be having a drink in the Last Chance Saloon, because it has closed down due to lack of patrons. Hmmm.
  4. Has to be just under the 24 hours prior to the match before such vital information can be released. So this evening 8pm or perhaps after breakfast on Monday.
  5. It's too much of an incestuous world where those earning well from the sport ( and I don't mean riders ) either don't want to or won't ask any tough questions. A case of don't bite the hand that feeds you perhaps?
  6. Please, could we have news of the Stars team lineup in good time? If possible 48 hours before the match, even though we accept that injuries may be last minute decisions, taken by medical staff.
  7. It's not just BV & RH who are suffering a downturn in attendances. It's swept under the carpet yet again. That ridiculous sounding scenario above might well become true, especially if the BSPA are locked into TV deal which demands a "top" league in the UK.
  8. As sure as eggs are eggs, the current structure of speedway in the UK will mess up their careers. If they are good enough to get out then they should do so as soon as they are able. The problem of how you develop your career here as a young gun is a tricky one.
  9. As you know my cheek was full of tongue. But I agree completely. The problem is how to identify THAT one. I thought I knew who he was ( but it could have been a she ) but I was wrong, as it seems we all were. We may have to wait until 2048 when all those involved, are long retired and willing to spill all!
  10. Or perhaps a bigger group? Barely into double figures? I bet Poland had 30 there. I should think that riders need a minimum of four "backroom staff" each.
  11. Me too, I was very interested to hear Greg's "side of the story" because I admire him as a great rider. Sadly it was all about joshing around and trivializing the problems Gino had at the SoN. Greg said there were three sides to every story and we have now had Gino's and Greg's but perhaps the truth is not going to come out ( as is often the case in speedway ). Greg made himself sound far away and remote from the experience that Gino had and seemed to suggest, that maybe it was all down to Gino's inexperience. A poor attempt at spin, by Greg, is how it came across ( to me )
  12. Did the Rusko family set the prices and make decisions about what kind of tickets were made available? Perhaps the fan's revolt was about a disregard for them? Presumably they made big loss? Or, were the riders paid from a share of the profits - which lowered their returns? We will never understand the "politics" of speedway in Poland. Murky waters.
  13. All legends have a dark side and the legend is built up by careful "spin" alongside sporting achievements. Greg is an on track speedway racing legend.
  14. Buster harangued the other promoters for many years before they gave him The Power as BSPA Chairman. They did it then because they already knew that UK speedway was very likely going down the pan and believed that a radical approach might just save the sport, But Dictators have a strange way of destroying everything around them because of their inability to listen or draw on other competent people ( other than Yes Men or Women ). No - one is always right as we have seen by the decline in UK speedway since Buster took over as our Glorious Leader. It certainly is not all his fault, but his "way" has speeded up the crumbling process. Too many dead ends and poorly thought through ideas. Take next Monday, only the Return of the Hero might bring in a decent crowd when it's on against an England match in the football World Cup.
  15. I don't know who that can be, as I have been a regular attender when a complete Stars team is fielded ( less any genuine injuries ) and I hope to be there on Monday to cheer home "my boy" Robert Lambert, a brilliant British success - to be celebrated. Very few achieve, in five years, what Robert has done. And yes I know he trained abroad before he could ride here , as all those should do if they can. I am very unimpressed with how KLS has been run in those last five years, when I have missed very few matches. It hardly matters what came first - the chicken or the egg, but a team running mainly on Weds, fielding so many riders with Danish affiliations has left me disillusioned. Not to mention the FRN and the "one over the eight" debacle.
  16. Suspect that there is more than a bit of the truth in that.
  17. That is where the problem usually lies. No one does check any such detail that impacts on the punter - from the tannoy system to the toilets and the price of the mostly poor quality food. Very fast food served very slowly if more than 10 people want it. Punters turned up for 90 years, so promoters must feel that what was was OK in 1970 will do for now. The BSPA are not interested in fan feedback, in fact I believe they are frightened of it - even when constructive points are put forward. Do they haver system for receiving it? Do they respond to it, with even a simple, cheap, one word - "Thanks". Not in my experience. As ye reap etc etc
  18. Can't see King's Lynn fielding a full side on Weds until the Danish league matches are over.
  19. No-one in UK speedway has but wealthy sponsors could help with a move. Luckily one of Lambert's best ones is local to King's Lynn, so who knows he might stay on.
  20. But it is on social media Webby and anything on social media will be sure to collect a crowd. I mean more than 100,000,000 follow Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber. Perhaps the result came out too late for the typesetters who laboriously prepare the next day's paper ( or do they do it from smartphone nowadays?). It could be in tomorrow!
  21. I still can't understand why the Two Day Final is necessary. IF it was to sell tickets / make more money it failed miserably this year. A One Day Final is enough? And the sudden death should be with the points added to the score up to that point. Fans don't seem to want it over two days. OR a panel of Officials & Fans could choose the Two Most Likely Teams and just have The Grand Sudden Death Final. ONE Race with the Destiny of the World Pairs Champions title up for grabs - imagine the tension and the long drawn out build up. Riders of every nation who have someone who could slide a bike, could take part in a Very Long HOT LAPS session and then the best Wheelie as well as the Best DoNut. Lots more opportunities for More Monster Girls with Flags or Umbrellas. I think it needs a number changes for it to be viable in the future.
  22. Worth £1 to me but I prefer 50p.
  23. Speedway remains the UK's Best Kept Secret. Mostly because the BSPA believes that if it is on Facebook and Twitter, millions will know about it and many thousands will come. Such a delightful dream. Most individual match organisers / club owners seem to agree with that and other marketing efforts remain very diluted or nonexistent.
