  1. You've already had nearly a handful of fixtures. Counted on one hand and not including the thumb. This is speedway you know, ruled by our benevolent Chair and Deputy ( or is Vice ) Chair.
  2. And THIS is the problem with how speedway is organised - nobody does officially record these things, so that the information can be used to swiftly rule on such matters. Why are not all club signings logged and all the fixtures ( when first set or amended )? And WHO has decided this time? It seems to have been the rider himself.
  3. You are 100% right but sadly no-one who organises meetings will ever listen or make a serious effort to improve things. They haven't for 25 years so why would they start now? "Gardening" for example, when that rule came in it was implemented for the first two or three meetings and then given up on. The Polish system seems much better, or an even stricter one! Concrete starting strip the best way forward.
  4. I agree completely. But there will be no "sorting out" I feel sure until there are less than 10 clubs operating. The hardcore of promoters who may be able to stay open will go on and on until they go down like the orchestra on the deck of the Titanic. That may leave a handful of stadiums able to operate on a semi-pro ad hoc way. Very mid 1960's! With very little likelihood of coming back from that as the punters will have dwindled to the bare minimum.
  5. If you have three, four or five Danish riders ( or even one or two ) Wednesdays will be Way Off Limits ( unless somebody in the promotion forgets about Denmark having priority ).
  6. Be interesting to hear some promoters views! Or even the view collectively of the BSPA, but interacting with fans is far from their best attribute.
  7. Every track has a few but Poole seem to have more than the average quota.
  8. I too have made any number of constructive comments. I have come to the conclusion that the sport is controlled ( not run ) by a group of incompetent amateurs at sports administration even if they have previously excelled in a business of some kind. They do not treat the sport in a businesslike manner but as their plaything. They are far removed from the customers they have and are incapable of attracting others. If speedway in the UK was an animal it would be put down.
  9. So, he has forgotten all about that so soon after the last mess? I was not keen to see a V Wolves match, followed by a V Wolves match a week or so apart. Never mind 30 minutes apart. All we hear is "let's go racing"!
  10. I hope the new reduced size one league is made up of only five teams, so that all the fixtures might possibly be fitted into the normal season. Without the need for doubleheaders V the same team which has been proved to be a ludicrous almost unworkable idea. And yes as someone posted, if you don't like it - don't go. I won't be going and I bet a considerable number of others won't either.
  11. Bit pointless having an AGM for the BSPA this year unless it is to wind up the affairs of UK speedway. They get it wrong every time. Plus - I hope the new reduced size one league is made up of only five teams, so that all the fixtures might possibly be fitted into the normal season. Without the need for doubleheaders V the same team which has been proved to be a ludicrous almost unworkable idea. And yes as someone posted, if you don't like it - don't go. I won't be going and I bet a considerable number of others won't either.
  12. On the money Mr Webb. Why do they not consider this as an option? Or even explain their thinking on why they have chosen a doubleheader after the " Never Again" debacle? Sadly it's true the KLS promotion do not learn from the recent past and seem incapable of learning. That is why things will continue to go downhill at Saddlebow Road.
  13. 6.15 pm and less than three miles away from the track, persistent rain seems to have set in. It may clear and pass over as suggested, but it might not. As it's off is it an issue of "trust" then? Or perhaps common sense.
  14. I posted only a 100% accurate report of the 15 minute downpour at 1.45 pm that took place around The Walks area of KL. I posted that to be helpful so that people could add it to the mix of weather reports. I also said If there were any more like that it MAY be off. Fair enough in my opinion and not posted with the intention of putting anyone off going to the match. I have decided that I am not due to the possibility of further inclement weather. If there is more to come, as at least two forecasters predict. They may have riding but not racing.
  15. We just had 15 minutes of stair rods - no kidding and I am in central KL. any more and it may well be off.
  16. Very, Very poor around King's Lynn. Quite frankly he has looked a liability ( and very unsteady ). In his final ride before he was injured at KL he looked sharper and more on the pace. But around Sheffield, he will need to step up a level ( or two ). Just can't see it benefitting anyone except him. Unless he can really find his feet ready for next year. No way on earth can he currently be compared to Bjerre.
  17. A plague of frogs if it is still too moist or a plague of sandflies, ladybirds and midges if it's too dry.
  18. It is alleged that some promoters read parts of the BSF ( perhaps about their own club ) let's hope that some also read the many positive ideas put forward by fans. Foolish if they don't read this thread.
  19. Any GP rider ( or just qualified for it ) who is gullible enough to come for the same money? NOT that I want to replace NKI - he can and will fully overcome this injury.
  20. Sums up much of speedway today at a lot of tracks and not merely in this instance. Not that many ( any? ) promoters will offer an explanation of a situation. Perhaps only Redcar and the Isle of Wight
  21. If there isn't there should be. Can anyone confirm that there is a SCB / ACU & DVLA link. A terrible oversight if there is not one. He should get a life ban for refusing a test when he was intending to ride in a meeting.
  22. This has got to be the way forward, if not it will the path that leads to some amateur speedway sometimes held, somewhere in England. There is no way that UK speedway can afford full-time riders in future. King's Lynn had their best crowd ( estimated ) on Weds- possibly 1,500. I wonder what %age of the match costs were covered by the crowd?
  23. You are right that Eric Riss more than hampered Robert in their first race - it was very nearly a violent coming together. But for me, Garrity is far more likely to injure himself and others because he overrides constantly.
