  1. I accept that it could be dangerous because I believe you. But in what way is dangerous and are riders on GTRs made fully aware of those dangers? Is it going to STOP as in if the pull cord comes out?
  2. Was Liam Carr the only possible option for KL? If so the sport becomes even more of a joke, as he will be completely outclassed and no one can imagine he will score. Just making up the numbers. With r/r for Porsing a heavy defeat looks like the only possible result. The Stars need the Holder & Lambert of the Pairs competition to even put on a show ( or provide decent racing ).
  3. So long as that is not left to be explained in the 2018 season preview. Yes but a meeting on Monday will be almost at mid season point. Did no one think of this likely dilemma 6 months ago?
  4. Hoping you are right GRW123! I don't need them to reply, only to know they have at least read the various points of view. If they fail to do anything that is their right as they are providing the funding. Therefore the only real way to make them understand that a number of people believe that what is on offer - if it is like last night ( and the BV match earlier ) is very poor VFM is not to attend. The gate money must provide an even clearer feedback.
  5. There is much wrong with the basic product when such matches happen- KL Stars V Wolverhampton last night. It proved the point again ( as in Stars V BV not long ago ) that Gate and Win is the most likely outcome of the majority of speedway races - after exiting the 2nd bend of the 1st lap. Not all but the vast majority. And at many tracks ( if not all ) Could racing have been improved with different track prep.? That is question that many KL fans are asking. The highlights would have been 59 secs long - one race. The VFM was very poor and most fans knew that would be the case before they went - and a good number stayed away. IF an idea like this can pull in more spectators to watch the meetings why not? What we are offering is NOT pulling in any noticeable number of new fans. Thinking out of the box needs to be considered. Slower, identical bikes drawn from a pool of machines is likely to result in closer, perhaps better racing. Something needs to be done to make people watch it again. More fans go to stock car racing at KL than watch speedway! Most fans loathe Gate and Go, so reducing that and increasing the unpredictability may be a solution. Is the Gerhardt one step towards that? Perhaps, but a cheaper stock engine 250 / 350 single could help much more? That is the answer of what is needed in a nutshell. Knowledgeable fans know that at the moment there is little chance of that if the rider who trapped does not make a mistake. Even a much lower averaged / ability rider can pull it off. And YES if double upping is to be continued with then much better fixture planning is certainly needed.
  6. Reading the article as translated into English it does say that FL did ask for the fuel line filter to be taken out to increase performance. Yes it could be the start of a slippery slope. Take out or reduce the efficiency of the lev limiter would not make the GTR much different to what we have with other engine manufacturers, would it?
  7. There is no point suggesting that those who feel they have genuine concerns - pass them on to Buster, without including a current email address where he or someone from the promotion will take the time to read them. They may not have the time to reply but if they welcome feedback from fans let's see it in accessibility.
  8. There is no bigger fan of Robert Lambert and he is only 19 ( but Stars Captain ) but this was not the night to test a new engine against a team going well and renowned as fast trappers. If that is the case as was claimed.
  9. Do the new averages for KL come into effect after last night's meeting OR after Somerset away? Why is there no clear known point? I thought it was four home and four away for each rider?
  10. Any long term fan of speedway knew that that was the most likely outcome. Not only a home loss but terrible VFM racing. As for the Belle Vue meeting there was little or no grip, which is not a good way to prepare for for a match re known good haters ( albeit in very hot weather ). Not only that but for Allit to say " we are building up a bit of a fortress at home" put up on the website 36 hours before the match shows either that "spin" is more more imgportant than reality or crass stupidity, as if the fans were going to believe it. The promotion seem very, very distant from the fans.
  11. It IS very sunny and hotter than usual, as well as more humid. One of those must be a strong enough reason for a postponement?
  12. And is there any doubt that Holder will not be riding? Is it more fake news? IF there is any doubt then fans should be told. I have just been told that - and it could be another rumour with basis in truth, there could be a need for r/r for both Holder and Porsing. Can this be true? Let's have the team riding tonight ( as soon as it is known) on the club website.
  13. Robert Lambert is powerfully proud to represent GB and has never suggested that he would ride for Germany, even though he did learn his craft there because he could not, at the time do it here ( at his age ).
  14. Wilkinson is a well over the hill journeyman who will be a trier against Wolves. Yes, I know he had a famous victory over Tai W. but that only shows that if you gate and make no mistakes the victory is yours . And with Jake Knight in at 7 we have no likelihood of winning.. I won't bother going because we know only Lambert will stand a chance of catching most of the Wolves riders who gate ( as they usually do ).
  15. Hardly horrid. I'm not going because Lambert was injured. I'm not going because I don't want to see the home team put to the sword ( again ) due to poor choices by the promotion. Without Huckenbeck or an adequate replacement and a stand in for Lambert at reserve ( who I do not believe will score ) and with Porsing seeming to have serious problems regaining any semblance of his form it would likely be very poor VFM. VFM in term of racing - I was there when Belle Vue shredded the Stars with barely one decent race or part of one. Going or not going is a personal choice of how to spend my own money. That's all. IF all fans still living had to go just because the Stars were riding there would be 3,000 to 5,000 there. Still no news of who is riding 36 hours before the match continues to be a no-no in my opinion. Some people might like the excitement of hearing who is riding on the day of the match. I don't.
  16. Really? Jake Knight at No7 on Weds? Well out of his depth. I will not be going is that is the case.
  17. The promotion will certainly have a Plan B won't they? They should have a Plan C too because injuries are a part of speedway. The averages situation is this year's major debacle ( so far).
  18. I have learnt a lot about human nature including the dark, intolerant side of some posters who are instantly dismissive of the opinion of others. Annonimity emboldens some of them more than if they were discussing the topic in person - or perhaps they are aggressive bullies in real life? It takes all sorts of course and most of all makes it a surety that every topic has polarised views about about with hardline beliefs restrict thoughtful exchange of those differing views. Thankfully there is enough humour to soften the overall impression for new posters. That its the banter of the terraces or the banter that I remember most and happily.
  19. Yes I do, but I don't have to delete it from my memory - just file it away for the next time - and of course there will be a next time because so little changes in UK speedway except the bikes.
  20. The way that this postponement was handled does reek of incompetence, poor communication skills and treating fans with complete indifference. All things which are more likely to cause the crowd levels to drop than attract new fans. Hard to believe how they did deal with it. The weather forecasts predicted a calm post storm evening, ideal for speedway which is what we got in King's Lynn 9 two miles from the track. Was is just incompetence? Or is there really something else behind it?
  21. Must be the tail end of the latest BSPA "hot air" meeting. Working on the Gb World Cup side?
  22. At a time when everyone in the sports effort's should be concerned only with Go & Tell of the excitement the sport offers ( when seen at it's best ) this very premature calling off is the last kind of thing that was needed. There will be no points deduction or action of any kind will there? With the Chairman of the BSPA owning KL how can there be? The BSPA is not unlike other odd organisations with complex inner workings and so everyone else there will "understand". Sadly the promotion do seem to think that the fans are thick ( Norfolk born and Norfolk bred etc ) . It will indeed never be spoken of again by them and swept under the carpet that way.
  23. I agree with you BUT the wind has died by at least 70% since last night and is now quite benign. I live near the Walks in KL centre and the tree movement is no different to Monday. Rated as breezy by the current BBC weather forecast. That was also forecasted last night. It was not called off due to the wind, local to the track.
  24. I have been up to the AFA and there are no puddles or lying water at all. The wind has been fierce since the rain stopped and must have been a continuing drying factor. It beggars belief that it has been called off because of the weather to be honest. But that is not what we get as fans in speedway. Keep them in the dark and fed on bullrubbish! It's an average manipulation issue. And a turn off for fans. Don't expect everyone to turn out twice in week when you can't fit in the fixtures and the team starts doing well towards the cut off date. Pathetic.
